Founded in the aftermath of the Second World War, Cumberland Lodge works with young people to understand the causes and impacts of social conflict and division, developing the next generation of leaders to create more just and inclusive futures. Our current programme focuses on four key areas: Youth & Democracy; Rule of Law; Freedom of Religion and Belief; and International Dialogue in the Workplace.
As we approach our 80th anniversary we have ambitious plans to scale up our activities and are looking for an experienced Fundraising Officer with strong storytelling skills and a passion for making a difference.
This is a permanent part-time role, two days a week. The successful candidate will join a thriving organisation as part of a small Programme team under the leadership of the Programme Director.
We are seeking to appoint a strong team player who can also work independently, who is well-organised, with excellent communication and inter-personal skills. They must be able to demonstrate success in fund-raising, and have strong knowledge of the fund-raising landscape in the UK, and preferably internationally. A background of funding raising for education or youth sector organisations would also be desirable.
Alignment with our ethos of addressing social challenges through constructive dialogue is essential.
It is expected that this role can be primarily carried out from home, but attendance one day a month in the offices in Windsor Great Park would be required.
This is a new role at Cumberland Lodge and there could be opportunities to grow with the team and become involved in other areas of our work, particularly occasional delivery of education programmes. If candidates have experience or an interest in this area please note this in your application.
Job description
Objective: To generate income that supports Cumberland Lodge’s mission by identifying, researching, and securing funding from trusts, foundations, and grant-giving bodies. The Programme Fundraising Officer will craft compelling proposals, develop new income opportunities, and align funder interests with Cumberland Lodge’s goals to enable impactful work with young people and the creation of more just and inclusive societies.

Working with: Programme Manager, Programme Team, Comms & Engagement Manager, Business Development & Marketing Manager
Salary: £14,000 (£35,000 FTE)
Hours: 2 days per week,
Main Duties:
Funding Development
Research and identify funding opportunities aligned with Cumberland Lodge programmes.
· Write compelling, youth and/or education focused funding applications and proposals.
· Track and manage applications, deadlines, budgets and outcomes.
Relationship Management
· Build and maintain strong relationships with funders.
· Provide timely updates, reports, and impact stories.
· Represent Cumberland Lodge at meetings, events, and networking opportunities.
Strategy & Performance
· Contribute to Cumberland Lodge fundraising strategy and income targets.
· Collaborate with the Programme Director to monitor fundraising performance.
· Produce data-driven reports on donor engagement and fund-raising effectiveness for the
Senior Management Team and Board of Trustees.
Compliance & Data
· Maintain accurate, GDPR-compliant donor records.
· Stay informed on fundraising legislation and best practices.
Internal Collaboration
· Work with programme and communications teams to gather data and case studies when required for reporting to Senior Management Team, Trustees, and to develop the annual Impact Report.
· Support the Leadership Team with strategic funding advice.
General
· Participate in relevant training and development identified in conjunction with Line
Manager.
· To attend and participate in weekly team meetings.
· Promote in a positive way the work of Cumberland Lodge.
· To maintain the confidentiality of the service.

Person specification
You will be able to demonstrate the following criteria:
Essential Criteria:
· A track record of securing five-figure grants or more from trusts, foundations and other donors;
· Knowledge of the fundraising landscape in the UK;
· Excellent communications skills, verbal and written, for a range of audiences, including creative storytelling and project framing;
· Ability to analyse and synthesise research and data into compelling reports and funding applications;
· Ability to develop full cost recovery budgets and carry out all compliant financial reporting;
· Ability to carry out all grant management reporting accurately and in a timely manner, with knowledge of GDPR-compliant data management;
· Ability to work independently, being proactive, organised and results-driven, while maintaining an ethos of collaboration and teamwork;
· Excellent time-keeping and ability to meet deadlines;
· Experience using a range of IT packages and platforms.
Desirable Criteria:
· Experience working with young people, youth organisations or in the education sector;
· Knowledge of the fundraising landscape internationally;
· Experience using social media for marketing and communication.
Further information
Hours: 14 hours per week (through an annualised hours working pattern).
Location: Remote working although the successful candidate will be expected to work from Cumberland Lodge a minimum of one day per month. Applicants should be aware that Cumberland Lodge is not easily accessible by public transport, so alternative forms of transport (bicycle, car) are helpful.
Annual leave: 33 days including Bank Holidays which will be pro-rata. The charity is closed over the Christmas period which will be deducted from the leave allocation.
Pension: Standard Life contributory pension (up to 10% contributions to support 5% personal contributions, with the option to increase personal contributions over and above 5%).

This is a critical interim role combining operational delivery with a strategic review of their events fundraising programme. You will lead both delivery and transformation across owned and third-party events, ensuring income, return on investment and supporter experience are maximised.
As Interim Senior Events Fundraising Manager, you will:
- Lead a team of two Event Managers and two Event Officers, managing £400k income and £164k expenditure
- Oversee delivery of the Glow Walk, a flagship in-memory event with significant untapped potential
- Review the third-party challenge events portfolio (e.g. Great Wall, Sahara) and assess current formats such as Bubble Rush to decide where to invest, optimise or withdraw
- Work with the Associate Director of Fundraising to identify opportunities for growth, particularly in challenge events
- Manage relationships with agencies and suppliers
- Oversee use of their events platform (Enthuse) and CRM integration, recommending changes or alternatives if needed
- Provide monthly reporting to the Executive Leadership Team on income, KPIs and supporter engagement
Ideal skills and experience:
- Experience leading teams delivering third-party, in-aid-of, challenge and owned events
- Line management experience, including managing managers
- A track record of reviewing and improving event portfolios for income, ROI and supporter journeys

The Head of Fundraising and Communications plays a pivotal role in shaping and driving Bowel Research UK's fundraising strategies and audience engagement initiatives.
This position is responsible for developing and executing comprehensive fundraising strategies, growing the charity’s supporter base and income, building up new and under-developed income streams and communicating effectively with their audiences to expand their reach, and encourage financial and non-financial support to deliver the organisations mission.
You will have the autonomy and scope to drive elements of your work and take ownership of your own objectives. You will be required to collaborate on decisions to shape and deliver initiatives, programmes and processes as required for each area of income delivery.
Key to the success of this role is a strong understanding of individual giving fundraising – an area that is underdeveloped at Bowel Research UK. This role blends the strategic oversight and leadership of a Head of Fundraising role, with the hands-on expertise of an IG fundraiser.
The successful candidate for this role will be someone who has already operated at a senior level within a charity such as at Senior Manager level, or Head of in a specific income stream. Having a background or significant experience in delivery across individual giving is also vital due to the importance of that income stream to Bowel Research UK – the post holder will be the organisations expert in IG.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead on the launch of a new RG proposition and ensure that the onboarding and onward journey is fit for purpose.
- Look for opportunities to thank our donors and communicate impact at key moments.
- Work with key stakeholders to ensure we grow our Regular Giving file, through acquisition as well as retention.
- Manage a variety of individual giving fundraising campaigns, from agency briefing, through to launch, meeting six figure campaign targets.
- Work with digital fundraising colleagues to create integrated, multichannel campaigns and an effective, donor-first giving journey.
- Remain flexible and rapidly respond to emergency situations.
- Work with the Data team to identify the best approach to data and segmentation for each project.
- Manage production processes, developing supplier briefs and managing approval stages and end of campaign reviews.
- Manage donor research and mystery shopping as required, using insights to inform creative decisions.
- Manage campaign fulfilment. Monitor responses to identify issues and opportunities.
- From time-to-time support with Donor Care activities if required.
- Ensure cost effective fundraising, manage individual campaign budgets and identify opportunities to improve ROIs.
- Stay up to date with issues affecting displaced & refugee communities, campaigns from international teams and reports from the field. Scope new fundraising themes.

The Partnerships Manager will play a central role in helping the RES achieve its strategic goals by developing, building and sustaining partnerships to deliver external funding. About the Role
We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Fundraiser to join our friendly team. We seek someone who feels passionately about our mission, to help us to drive income and ensure Success Club can continue to change lives, by building strong engagement with our donors and fundraisers. You will build on our past successes by managing existing relationships with, and making new grant-applications to Trusts and Foundations. We are a small core team and ideas are welcomed! You will identify new avenues for fundraising, and help us explore a growing portfolio of community support, to ensure the best possible experience for individual supporters and donors.
As Fundraiser, you’ll be the first point of contact for all inbound fundraising enquiries—whether by email, phone or at in-person events. You will nurture relationships with our existing individual and corporate supporters and identify and cultivate prospective donors.
You’ll be proactive and organised, passionate about delivering outstanding supporter experiences, and will have a strong understanding of the charity sector. Familiarity with fundraising databases or CRMs is also a plus.
The role will involve representing Success Club at occasional meetings and events, where you’ll be well supported by our existing team of Trustees and the CEO & Business and Operations Manager. The Role
