We're looking for a Head of Fundraising, a senior new role delivered in partnership with ELFT Charity, the NHS charity of East London NHS Foundation Trust.

About ELFT Charity and our impact

ELFT Charity raises and manages charitable funds for opportunities, ideas and improvements that go beyond what core NHS funding can provide, helping people and communities to thrive, recover and live well. It supports mental health, community health and wellbeing services across the City of London, Hackney, Newham, Tower Hamlets, Bedfordshire and Luton, from small local initiatives that make an immediate difference to larger projects focused on innovation and community partnership. Its priorities are creating opportunities, reducing inequalities and strengthening communities.

About the Role

You'll lead the day-to-day delivery of the fundraising strategy, building the relationships, propositions, campaigns and systems that grow support for the Charity. You'll be employed by Compass Wellbeing CIC and work as an integral part of ELFT Charity.

• A new senior role: the first Head of Fundraising at ELFT Charity, created as the Charity enters a new phase of growth
• Build, don't just maintain: shape the pipeline, systems and CRM, and decide where to focus effort
• Start with community, grow towards major gifts: early priorities are community fundraising, grants, trusts and foundations, with corporate partnerships, regular giving and legacies to follow
• Autonomy with backing: work independently with strategic direction from ELFT Charity and day-to-day support from the Compass Wellbeing team
• Real community roots: draw on Compass Wellbeing's trusted networks across NHS, voluntary sector, local authority and business partners

Role Requirements 

• A proven track record of achieving or exceeding income and activity targets from both community and corporate fundraising
• Experience of planning and delivering projects, events or campaigns within agreed budgets and timescales 
• Experience of developing, securing and stewarding relationships with funders, donors or partners
• Experience of fundraising within an NHS charity, health, mental health, public service or community setting - Practical knowledge of fundraising regulation, data protection and ethical fundraising
• Experience of using Microsoft 365 and CRM, supporter or pipeline management systems
• Ability to travel across East London, Luton and Bedfordshire, and to work occasional evenings and weekends to support events

• Able to turn service ideas and community needs into clear, compelling cases for support
• Entrepreneurial, practical and creative, testing new ideas and learning from evidence
• Organised and accurate, comfortable managing several projects and competing deadlines
• Confident working autonomously while building collaborative relationships across organisations
• Committed to inclusive, ethical, relationship-led fundraising, and able to work sensitively with service users, carers and families

📍 East London, Bedfordshire & Luton | 🕐 Full-time, permanent | 💷 £50,000–£55,000
