Contract: Full time, interim 14 month role
Salary: £40,000 per annum
Location: Hybrid role between home and London office, with three days per week at the organisation's office in Holland Park, West London

Established in 1993, Whitley Fund for Nature is a fundraising and grant-giving nature conservation charity that has channelled £26 million to 220 conservation leaders in 80 countries across the Global South.

The interim Head of Communications will join a small team in London to lead and deliver an integrated communications and engagement strategy that amplifies the voices of grassroots conservation leaders internationally. The role is key within the organisation and holds responsibility for raising the organisation's profile, strengthening audience engagement, and supporting fundraising objectives across digital, print, and events.

Core responsibilities will be as follows:

• Implement a dynamic annual communications strategy that aligns closely with PR and fundraising priorities
• Leading impactful campaigns across email marketing, social media, website, branding and events
• Acting as webmaster and brand guardian, ensuring all communications are compelling, consistent and on brand, while driving measurable growth in digital engagement and audience development
• Leading communications around the Whitley Awards, an international awards programme celebrating outstanding grassroots conservation leaders, working across digital campaigns, ceremony communications, publications, social

This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role within an influential conservation organisation, shaping storytelling that drives real-world impact.

• Ability to think strategically combined with creative flair and a passion for purpose-driven communications
• Demonstrable experience of working in a similar role within the charity or NGO sector
• Proven experience delivering communications strategies and producing effective digital and print communications for a wide range of audiences
• Strong digital expertise across email marketing, social media, websites and analytics
• Experience managing brand identity and external suppliers, and of event communications
• Excellent writing and editorial ability, with an eye for design
• Ability to undertake webmaster and editor responsibilities, with experience of using WordPress preferred
• Experience setting social media strategy, and using online tools such as Canva and Hootsuite to aid with content creation and scheduling
• Proven success in contributing to PR campaigns and securing media coverage
• Strong project management and line management skills, as well as excellent interpersonal skills
• Able to manage and prioritise a busy and varied workload
• Understanding of or interest in issues in wildlife conservation
• Proven ability in effective budgeting, negotiating and budget management

Supporter Care & Data Assistant
Charity | London (Hybrid)
£17.46 per hour | 21 hours per week
Temporary – Approx. 2 months | Starting w/c 9th March

We are working with a London-based charity to recruit a Supporter Care & Data Assistant to provide vital support to their Fundraising team during a busy period.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who combines excellent supporter care with strong data and CRM skills. You will play an important role in ensuring supporters receive a positive and professional experience, while maintaining accurate and reliable fundraising data.

Role Purpose To provide accurate and timely supporter care, administrative and data support to the Fundraising team. You will help ensure that supporter, grant, appeal and Gift Aid data is correctly recorded and maintained within the CRM and related systems, supporting smooth day-to-day operations and fundraising campaigns.

Key Responsibilities Supporter Care & Administration

• Managing the supporter care phone line and inbox, responding to donations and general enquiries
• Preparing and circulating the monthly phone rota
• Updating supporter records (address changes, opt-outs, Gift Aid status updates and returned mail)
• Drafting and sending ad hoc supporter correspondence, including Direct Debit confirmations and Gift Aid acknowledgements
• Scanning and uploading inbound donation forms and post

CRM & Data Administration

• Reviewing, compiling and uploading historic grant data into the new CRM system (Beacon)
• Processing donation imports into Raiser’s Edge and Beacon
• Running data selections and completing mail merges for thank you letters
• Adding package and appeal codes to monthly spreadsheets
• Ensuring all imports, reports and documentation are accurately saved
• Liaising with partners to verify and update details

Gift Aid & Financial Administration

• Checking and processing Gift Aid documentation from multiple sources
• Uploading documentation to SharePoint
• Processing supplier invoices and preparing them for approval
• Saving weekly bank statements

Appeals & Campaign Support

• Supporting London Marathon communications and volunteer callouts
• Assisting with basic social media and marketing research
• Uploading and downloading data to external fulfilment houses and suppliers
• Supporting campaign set-up and reporting processes

We’re looking for a Marketing & Communications Administrator (Freelance) to strengthen T&T’s existing links in Rotherhithe, Bermondsey and Canada Water: taking ownership of social media and promotion, enhancing our reach into minoritised communities, building our communications platforms and driving engagement, celebrating existing projects and activities, highlighting news and supporting new projects to thrive.

Time & Talents is a lively, busy community centre in the heart of Rotherhithe, SE16.Set in a leafy heritage building, and ‘T&T2’, our second venue in Surrey Quays Shopping Centre, we offer something for everyone. With a history of 139 years of supporting people of all ages, we bring people together for mutual support, fun and friendship, with a wide range of services and activities for older people and other adults, along with volunteering and other accessible activities for all members of the community.

T&T carries out a wide range of activities and events, but we need support and growing our voice. You’ll play a key role in ensuring that local people know about what we do, connect with our services and activities, and join us in celebrating our successes. 

The role 

In this role, you’ll be responsible for: 

• Maintaining social media accounts, website, regular newsletters and promotional materials in close collaboration with programme teams 

• Collaborating with management team to create effective, engaging reports to a range of funders and other stakeholders 

• Leading on community fundraising initiatives with management team support 

• Maintaining a unified tone and thematic approach across all media and marketing platforms 

About you 

You have a track record of developing and delivering excellent marketing / communication programmes in the third sector. You’re a seasoned content creator with experience of a range of online platforms and tools. You have an outward-looking approach and are passionate about building community buy-in. You’re flexible, accountable, take responsibility, are highly organised and skilled in multitasking and balancing priorities. You might have experience of crowdsourcing or other types of income generation. You are passionate about the power of community to connect and support people.
