Job description

About Us:
Islington Boat Club proudly provides multi-disciplined paddlesport activity programmes to the local
community, schools, youth, private and SEN groups. The Regents Canal provides us with a dynamic yet
enjoyable base to coach and improve upon people's ability and skills on flat water and beyond.

The Role:
We are looking for an experienced Paddlesport Instructor (minimum UKCC Level 2 / BCAB Level 3) to join our team. You will deliver a range of disciplines, including SUP, Kayaking and Canoeing to students of varied ages and abilities on a daily basis.
As part of this role you will ensure all our participants have a safe and enjoyable experience out on the
water by delivering high quality sessions in line with both internal procedures and national governing
body syllabuses.
When working with young people, we have a strong emphasis on incorporating youth work into our
activities, this can include leading land based as well as other activities when on or offsite.
The role will require being flexible, working shifts across a 17 hour week. Typically between the hours
of 9am and 7:30pm. Weekends, Bank Holidays and School holiday shifts should be expected.

About You
We are looking for Coaches who are committed to best practice with a high work ethic and take pride in
their work and the achievements of their students. They must be a team player, working together with
others to achieve our organisational goals.
There will be opportunities for staff progression and Personal Development.

Basics:

The role offered is a 12 month contract for a minimum of 17 hours per week (term-time). There is the opportunity for additional hours at school holiday times and during the working week for the successful applicant.
