The Hepatitis C Trust (HCT) is the UK patient-led charity for hepatitis C. The arrival of highly effective drugs allows us to cure almost everyone who has access to them. We now have an unprecedented opportunity to eliminate hepatitis C by 2030.
We are looking for a passionate and skilled manager who has excellent communication and organisational skills. Working under the guidance of the Southern Regional Manager, you will oversee a staff team and an expanding network of peer programs across Surrey.
Experience of working with disadvantaged groups and an understanding of providing services to vulnerable people is essential, alongside an understanding of how lived experience can support this work.
Your work will involve maintaining and monitoring our existing HCT peer projects across Surrey. This will involve providing support and supervision to existing staff, managing operational issues on a day-to-day basis and overseeing the management of local projects.
This post also involves regular liaison with external partners across the region, including key stakeholders and NHS colleagues at the Surrey Operational Delivery Network (ODN), alongside drug and alcohol services, hostels, outreach services etc.

The Role

This role provides valuable practical experience in providing emotional support to vulnerable people. Harris Hill is working in partnership with a leading organisation supporting people living with HIV to recruit a Welfare Rights Advisor. This is an opportunity to join a purpose-driven team providing practical advice, advocacy and support to help people navigate complex welfare and benefits systems and maximise their income.
The role is predominantly remote, with the successful candidate required to attend HIV clinics across central London one day per week, usually for a half day, as part of an outreach-based service. The position is offered on a one-year contract, with the possibility of extension, and can be full-time or part-time, with a minimum commitment of two days per week.
As Welfare Rights Advisor, you will provide high-quality one-to-one welfare benefits advice and support to clients, assessing their needs, developing action plans and helping them access the financial support to which they are entitled. You will support clients with welfare forms, advocacy and tribunal attendance where required, while also making appropriate referrals to other specialist services. The role will involve working closely with health and social care organisations, delivering outreach in HIV clinics, organising workshops and training sessions for frontline professionals and NHS staff, and providing updates to colleagues on welfare and benefits legislation. You will also support and develop volunteers, contribute to drop-in sessions and ensure that client records, monitoring information and reports are maintained accurately and effectively.
You will be a qualified welfare rights adviser with at least two years’ experience providing welfare and benefits advice to vulnerable groups, alongside a strong understanding of the UK welfare and benefits system. You will bring excellent communication, numerical and IT skills, a high level of accuracy and attention to detail, and the ability to manage competing priorities while working independently. A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Senior Management Accountant – Systems and Projects with a museum on a full-time, permanent basis. As Senior Management Accountant – Systems and Projects, you will provide a first-class management accounting service to the Museum as well as leading on financial systems, compliance, and certain Museum-wide projects.
Please note, there is hybrid working in place with this organisation with a minimum of 1 day per week required in their London office.
As Senior Management Accountant – Systems and Projects, you will:
- Lead the development, maintenance and optimisation of finance systems, including ERP functionality, controls, user access and system improvements
- Act as the recognised finance systems expert, supporting users, delivering training and driving system enhancements
- Lead on risk management, compliance and regulatory requirements, ensuring policies and processes remain robust and effective, collaborating closely with other departments and committees
- Identify applicable finance-related elements of public sector and charity regulation and best practice, especially Managing Public Money and DCMS management agreement ensuring this is embedded in risk management and applicable policies and processes effectively
- Manage and improve budgeting, forecasting and financial reporting processes, including staff cost modelling and payroll-related controls
- Support and advise on organisation-wide projects, providing financial expertise and ensuring best-practice project appraisal and evaluation
The successful applicant will:
- Have significant demonstrable experience in finance, in a similar role (experience as a finance systems lead or in a systems-focused finance role)
- Be a fully qualified accountant
- Have demonstrable management accounting experience and strong technical accounting knowledge including Accounting Standards and regulatory framework, income tax, NI and VAT
- Have demonstrable success in process and control improvements and managing projects successfully
- Have a strong understanding of finance systems, controls, governance and compliance frameworks
- Have advanced Excel and strong IT skills
- Have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
