Philanthropy Manager

Purpose of the role

We are looking for a passionate and strategic Philanthropy Manager to help drive our mission to restore wildlife and create a world where wildlife thrives.  This role is focused on raising vital funds from individuals to support ZSL’s global ambition.  You will lead on engaging new and cultivating existing supporters, securing high-value and major gifts. As part of your stewardship and cultivation work, you will build deep, lasting relationships and grow a sustainable income stream that powers our global impact.

This is a hybrid role, with the expectation of spending two days a week in the office at a minimum, alongside attending occasional off-site meetings with donors and stakeholders.  As with many major gift roles, there may be some evening or weekend work to support events, donor visits, or special experiences.

Key responsibilities:

Fundraising Strategy: Contribute to strategic planning to ensure a coordinated and donor-centric approach that maximises philanthropic support, in collaboration with the Head of Philanthropy.

Donor Cultivation and Stewardship: To manage and grow a personal portfolio of high-value and major donors, securing income from high-value and major gifts.

Prospect Research: Identifying and researching potential donors who align with the organisation's mission and goals, with support from the Prospect Researcher.

Proposal Writing and Donor Reporting: Craft compelling and personalised proposals and presentations to secure funding, and work closely with the wider fundraising and project delivery teams to produce high quality reports.

Event Management: Support the organisation and delivery of events to cultivate relationships with donors and prospects.

Financial accountability: Keep accurate records and handle accompanying gift administration and recognition.

About you

• Experienced fundraising and donor development professional within the charity or cultural sectors, with a proven track record of securing five- and six-figure gifts from individuals, trusts, foundations, and institutional partners.
• Confident in developing compelling proposals and presentations that engage and inspire individual philanthropists.
• Experience working with fundraising databases and donor management systems.
• A proven track record in working with senior volunteers in a fundraising context.
• Knowledge of fundraising best practices and ethical considerations.
• Strong communication, interpersonal and relationship management skills.

Context

This is an opportunity to play a pivotal role in a pioneering programme that could reshape how kinship families are supported across England.

Kinship is undertaking a pilot Randomised Controlled Trial (RCT) of Kinship Connected, a Kinship Navigator programme designed to provide intensive, specialist support to kinship carers and help them navigate complex systems.

This is a multi-partner programme involving funders, independent evaluators, participating local authorities, internal delivery teams and kinship carers with lived experience.

Kinship Navigators are at the heart of delivery. You will work directly with kinship carers in the community and in their homes, providing intensive 1-to-1 support and facilitating local support groups, while working closely with local authority partners and other services.

Because the programme forms part of a pilot RCT, maintaining high-quality case records and accurate data collection is critical. Your work will contribute directly to the evidence base about what works for kinship families.

Each Navigator will support around 40 kinship carers over the delivery year, holding a caseload of approximately 20 families at any one time.

You will be part of a wider delivery team including the Programmes Manager, Mobilisation and Delivery Project Manager, research colleagues and other Kinship teams, working together to ensure the programme is delivered ethically, consistently and to a high standard

About the role:

The Kinship Navigator provides intensive, time-limited support to kinship carers through the Kinship Connected programme, a structured six-month intervention designed to help kinship families stabilise placements and access the support they need.

Working directly with kinship carers, you will build trusting relationships while completing structured assessments, goal setting and reviews to help families strengthen support networks and navigate services such as children’s social care, education, health and community support.

This is a community-facing role, working directly with kinship carers in homes, community spaces and through co-location with local authority teams and partner organisations.

The role requires a combination of high-quality relational practice and disciplined case recording. As part of the pilot RCT, accurate documentation of activity, progress and outcomes is essential to ensure the programme can be evaluated and improved.

You will work closely with the Programmes Manager, delivery team, researchers and local authority partners to ensure the programme is delivered consistently, ethically and to a high standard, with a strong commitment to equity, diversity and inclusion in supporting kinship families from all backgrounds.

Key responsibilities include:

• Providing emotional and practical support to kinship carers.
• Advocating for kinship carers in meetings with professionals where appropriate.

Essential requirements include:

• Experience delivering direct support to vulnerable families or carers, including completing needs assessments and developing support plans.

• Experience providing structured one-to-one support, casework or family support over a defined period.

• Experience working directly in community settings or alongside local authority or partner organisations.

• Experience facilitating peer or support groups in community or online settings.

• Experience working with statutory, voluntary and community services, including liaising with professionals around the family.

AHF is seeking to appoint 3.5 FTE new Grants Officers to help deliver our core grants and advisory programme across England. These roles have been created following the recent announcement of significant new investment, which will support the expansion of the Heritage Revival Fund through to March 2029. This investment will enable AHF, in partnership with DCMS and Historic England, to provide grants to hundreds of communities across England, helping them bring neglected historic buildings back into use.

The postholders will be responsible for assessing and managing a caseload of projects within a defined area of England, joining an existing team of Grants Officers. In this exciting role you will be responsible for researching, cultivating and managing a portfolio of Trusts and Foundations at all levels, including those which have the potential to make grants up to and above 7 figures.

Sitting in the Philanthropy Team of four, the team works really well together, both jointly and individually, with a focus on proactivity and ample autonomy. They have been very successful over the past few years in hitting targets and now theyre excited to be recruiting for a fourth team member.

Their ethos is a relationship development approach to fundraising and youll find plenty of support for a values-based approach to income generation within the team.

The Role
Lead the development and delivery of the Philanthropy strategy for Trusts & Foundations Develop and manage a portfolio of Trusts and Foundations to develop a sustainable income base for the charity
Support the Philanthropy teams fundraising strategy through creative thinking, problem-solving, and the maintenance and use of CRM databases.
Use networks, relationships and knowledge to generate income from Trusts and high value sources by identifying connections and new funding opportunities.

The Candidate
Proven track record of raising significant (e.g. six figures plus) single and multi-year gifts from Trusts and Grant makers.
Experience of developing and writing compelling applications bids and cases for support
Experience of successfully researching and building short, medium and long term funder pipelines to meet financial targets.
Experience of effective and supportive line management

What the job involves

As part of our Customer Engagement and Experience team, you’ll play a key role in delivering an exceptional supporter experience, from ordering shop items and receiving fulfilment materials to ensuring Gift Aid contributions are processed accurately and securely.

This job share role combines operational ownership, relationship management and compliance oversight. You’ll be trusted to run essential day-to-day activity and improve the systems that sit behind them.

You’ll build and manage strong relationships with fulfilment suppliers, holding them accountable to KPIs and ensuring materials are delivered accurately and on time. You’ll also manage the day-to-day running of our online shop, including product development, stock forecasting, supplier coordination and performance monitoring.

You’ll keep fulfilment operations running efficiently by identifying improvements, resolving bottlenecks and making sure teams across the charity have what they need. Alongside this, you’ll take ownership of Gift Aid administration, ensuring claims are accurate, compliant with HMRC requirements and supported by clear audit trails.

By monitoring Gift Aid performance, you’ll analyse trends and recommend improvements, keeping internal teams informed and skilled in best practice. You’ll also support Fundraising teams with compliance checks, offering guidance and helping to resolve any issues quickly and effectively.

In addition, you’ll oversee monthly stock reconciliations and financial reporting for shop activity, ensuring accuracy and supporting informed decision-making. You’ll work closely with colleagues across digital, operations, marketing and customer experience to deliver a seamless, joined-up supporter journey.

This is a varied and meaningful role where your work directly improves how supporters experience Prostate Cancer UK.

Please note, internally this role is known as Gift Aid, Compliance and Fulfilment Manager.

The Content & Social Media Manager plays a central role in delivering IAPB’s global communications ambition by producing high-quality content, strengthening IAPB’s digital presence, and supporting impactful public awareness campaigns. Working as a key member of the External Communications function, this role helps amplify IAPB’s voice across global health, development, policy, and public audiences.

Working closely with the Head of External Communications, the postholder manages day-to-day content creation and social media execution across IAPB’s channels, ensuring messaging is aligned, strategic, accessible, and compelling. They support global campaigns, such as Love Your Eyes, Every Story Counts, and the Global Summit for Eye Health, by producing content that humanises eye health, drives behaviour change, and elevates the lived experiences of communities worldwide.

Role and Responsibilities

1. Digital Content & Social Media Management

• Lead daily management of IAPB’s social media channels (Instagram, TikTok, X, LinkedIn, Facebook), ensuring content is strategic and audience focused. 
• Building on the strategy, deliver a year-round social media and content plan aligned to organisational priorities, campaigns, and global advocacy goals. 
• With the support of other team members brief high quality, platform specific assets including graphics, social cards, shortform videos, EDM content, toolkits, and campaign materials. 
• Deliver regular analytics reports, tracking performance trends, audience insights, and opportunities for improvement. 
• Support influencer-based activations—particularly on Instagram and TikTok—to normalise good eye health behaviours and encourage screenings

2. Content Development & Storytelling

• Develop creative concepts and content ideas for global moments, campaigns, op-eds, human-interest stories, and behaviour change messaging. 
• Write clear, compelling copy for blogs, press releases, social media, websites, campaign updates, and storytelling pieces. 
• Ensure accuracy, consistency, and quality of all content, maintaining alignment with IAPB’s brand identity, strategic messaging, and global campaign voice. 
• Provide editorial support, including proofreading and content quality assurance across the communications portfolio. 

3. Campaign Activation & Member Tools

• Support development and delivery of global campaign assets for Love Your Eyes, Every Story Counts, and other awareness initiatives. 
• Produce user-friendly digital toolkits, templates, messaging guidelines, storytelling prompts, and ready to use social media materials for IAPB members. 
• Help maintain shared content libraries, ensuring members can easily find and adapt campaign materials. 

4. Cross-‑Organisational Collaboration

• Work collaboratively with global colleagues across advocacy, knowledge, membership, campaigns and events teams to ensure coherent messaging and integrated planning.
• Coordinate effectively across diverse time zones and cultures, supporting smooth communication within a global federation. 
• Contribute to thought leadership efforts by supporting content preparation, storytelling assets, and multimedia elements tied to strategic initiatives.

5. Quality, Insight & Continuous Improvement

• Use analytics, platform insights, and sector trends to inform content strategy and enhance performance over time.
• Identify opportunities to strengthen engagement, reach new audiences, and innovate IAPB’s digital presence.

Education, Skills & Experience Required

Required:

• Strong understanding of social media approaches across major channels (Instagram, TikTok, X, LinkedIn, Facebook).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to coordinate across teams and support collaborative ways of working.
• Experience creating and editing digital content for varied audiences, including visual and multimedia content for campaign activations
• Strong organisational skills with attention to detail and ability to manage fast-moving campaigns
• Ability to build strong relationships and collaborate with global colleagues, influencers, members, and partners.
• Degree-level qualification or equivalent relevant experience.
