Role Overview

This is an exciting opportunity to shape Shine’s strategic direction while managing the operational delivery of our services for children, young people, and families aged 0–25. Building on the success of our Little Stars/Ser Bach programme for members aged 0–12 and the development and extension of the FIRE (Friendship, Independence, Resilience, Empowerment) programme for those aged 13–25, you will play a key role in shaping the future of our support for children, young people and their families.

Working across England, Wales, and Northern Ireland, you will lead the delivery of an established, evidence-based programme that improves health, social, and emotional outcomes for those living with spina bifida, hydrocephalus, and associated conditions.

You’ll lead a passionate team and work closely with Shine’s Adult Services Team (25+), Health Team, Wales and Northern Ireland Managers and wider colleagues across the organisation to ensure work is coordinated, complementary, and beneficial to members. At the same time, you’ll forge strong partnerships with NHS professionals, statutory services, and voluntary organisations—driving collaboration that will support our vision of providing consistent, high-quality support for children, young people and families nationwide.

About this role:

We are seeking a motivated and experienced professional to lead our fundraising and partnership development activities, supporting the diversification and growth of income across both established and emerging streams. While the role will place significant emphasis on corporate fundraising, it will also involve the strategic development of grants and trusts. You will develop strong relationships with funders, identify new opportunities, and support our members to build their own grassroots fundraising capabilities.

Working closely with both colleagues and members, you'll help shape our funding strategy, develop high quality proposals, and ensure we have the systems and insight needed for sustainable growth. Your contributions will enable us to expand our work to engage and empower communities across Britain. 

In addition, you will help shape the guidance we provide to members of the community rail movement, strengthening their grassroots fundraising capabilities and approaches.

Main responsibilities

• Manage and grow corporate relationships for the benefit of Community Rail Network and its members, nurturing effective, lasting relationships that help community rail to deliver on its aims around community development, sustainable travel, and inclusion.
• Conduct prospect research to identify new corporate supporters and relevant grant opportunities, taking a proactive approach to cultivating new leads, building networks and flagging upcoming opportunities well in advance to ensure sufficient preparation time.
• Engage, listen and pitch to funders, understanding shared priorities, articulating the value of partnering with us, and securing continued or increased support. 
• Work cross-team to create strong proposals, using member and partner insights to identify funding needs and opportunities, and develop compelling cases for support and budgets.
• Develop joint grant applications by collaborating with colleagues, members and external partners to create bids aligned with our strategic aims and which recognise our current strengths, resources and prioritie
• Support strategic funding development, working closely with the senior leadership team to shape our approach and deliver against funding objectives and ensure it is understood by colleagues.
• Champion a positive fundraising culture and ethos, providing expertise and contributing member support, training, and events across the community rail movement.
• Contribute to wider organisational activity, including using major events and campaigns, such as the Community Rail Awards, to advance fundraising efforts.
• Develop and maintain effective fundraising systems, including funder reporting, review processes, and tracking KPIs to monitor progress and impact.

Skills, competencies and experience

1. Proven skills and experience in third sector fundraising, including corporate fundraising, grant management and funder reporting, with a broad understanding of the full fundraising mix and ability to spot new opportunities.
2. A demonstrable proactive approach to relationship building, with experience engaging and stewarding funders to create long-term mutually beneficial partnerships.
3. Strong proposal/grant application and report writing skills, able to tailor communication for different audiences and stakeholders to maximise clarity, relevance and impact.
4. Excellent verbal and written communication, with the ability to gather insight and inspire engagement both internally and externally.
5. Strong organisational and time management skills, able to balance multiple and competing  priorities and meet deadlines effectively. 
6. Experience of, or demonstrable understanding of, membership organisations, including the ability to balance member needs with our organisational objectives.
7. Appreciation of and commitment to community development, empowerment and sustainability, and the value of community engagement in relation to transport.
8. Solid understanding of KPIs, targets, budgeting, and risk management, with the ability to plan, track and evaluate performance effectively.

10. IT literate, with a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, TEAMs, the internet and social media.

Other information

This post is home-based, but with travel (including occasional overnight stays) for team meetings, events, member engagement, and external meetings. This is a permanent position and includes a probationary period of three months from the date of appointment. Are you an experienced Project Manager with proven experience in property or estates project management? Have you successfully delivered large-scale installations or fit-out projects?

We’re excited to be recruiting a Property Project Manager to help lead one of the most impactful installation programmes in our Retail division. This fixed‑term role will take a central position in delivering the rollout of vital medical equipment (defibs) across our 670+ BHF retail locations, a project that will directly strengthen the safety and resilience of our shops, customers, volunteers and colleagues.

You’ll combine hands‑on project delivery with strategic oversight, working closely with teams across Retail, Estates and Property, as well as our external partners. Your leadership will ensure installations are delivered smoothly on time and within budget, while keeping disruption to retail operations to a minimum.

This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to a high‑profile programme that supports our mission and makes a meaningful difference across our estate.

You’ll deliver a full range of Project Manager services including:

• Managing end-to-end delivery of installations projects, from planning to completion.
• Developing and controlling project budgets, ensuring cost-effective delivery.
• Collaborating with internal teams (Retail, Estates, Facilities, Finance) and external contractors, consultants, and suppliers.
• Ensuring all works comply with health and safety legislation, building regulations, and BHF policies.
• Identifying and mitigating project risks, resolving issues promptly.
• Providing regular progress reports to senior leadership, including KPIs and strategic alignment.
• Overseeing project documentation and ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements.

About you

We are looking for someone with proven experience in property or estates project management, ideally in a multi-site environment, such as retail. You'll have a demonstrable track record of delivering large-scale installation, fit-out or similar programmes, from planning to completion.

To be successful in this role, you'll have:

• Excellent organisational, communication, and negotiation skills.
• A qualification or relevant experience in Project Management, Construction, Surveying or related field, with membership of a relevant professional body (e.g. RICS) being desirable.
• Strong stakeholder management and relationship-building abilities.
• Proficiency in project management tools and software (e.g. MS Project, Asana).
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong understanding of building regulations, lease management, and health & safety compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

Membership Administration

· Support the renewals process to ensure prompt collection of membership subscriptions including conducting follow-up campaigns to minimise lapsers. 

· Manage correspondence related to the onboarding process including preparing and sending membership welcome emails, and other communications as appropriate.

· Manage the Membership inbox responding to queries and assigning emails to colleagues or others as necessary.

· Support with the administration of Organisational Members including processing new members, issuing invoices and any other tasks as required.

· Assist with the development and implementation of new membership strategies.

· Other tasks to support the Membership and Business Development Director and Membership Manager as necessary.

Member Engagement and Digital Events

· Coordinate and deliver a structured programme of online events, including:

- Lunch & Learn sessions

- Themed webinar series covering both technical and non-technical topics

· Manage all webinar logistics, including registration, hosting, and post-event communications.

· Work closely with the Communities Officer and regional branches to promote local and regional events.

Data Management & Reporting

• Produce analytical reports on membership growth, retention, and engagement.
• Collect, analyse, and present member feedback from surveys and event participation.
• Deliver quarterly reports highlighting engagement trends and insights.
• Apply both quantitative and qualitative data to inform and shape future engagement strategies.

Customer Service

· Serve as a point of contact for current and potential members, answering enquiries via phone, email, and online.

Experience and Skills

Essential Experience

· 2–3 years’ experience in membership administration, customer service, event co-ordination or marketing or a similar administrative role, ideally within a non-profit, association, or professional membership organisation.

· Proficient in using CRM or membership management systems, including database management, reporting.

· Experience in administering membership or customer renewals processes.

· Ability to deliver high-quality customer service in a professional environment.

· Ability to write compelling promotional copy.

· Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and experience using digital engagement and event tools such as Eventbrite, Cvent, Mailchimp, LinkedIn, and Microsoft Teams.

This new role will own and deliver FutureDotNow’s growth programme, increasing membership numbers, expanding Charter signatories and building a stronger, more diverse funding base. Ultimately, it’s all about action designed to increase the number of business helping people build their essential digital skills. 

You’ll design and deliver strategies to raise awareness of what we call ‘the hidden middle’ among businesses and organisations in the UK. You’ll help businesses see the relevance, inspire them to want to help people of working age build the digital essentials, sell the benefits of being part of the FutureDotNow coalition and provide them with solutions that make doing that as easy as possible. 

Key responsibilities 

This role’s primary focus is developing our member value proposition and driving growth in both membership and Workforce Digital Skills Charter signatories.  

• Charter & Membership Growth. You will design and execute strategies to significantly grow the number of companies who are signatories to the Workforce Digital Skills Charter and / or FutureDotNow members, alongside strategies that retain and engage the existing community.

• Membership management. You’ll own and manage the membership pipeline end-to-end, from inbound interest through to conversion, onboarding and retention. You will drive self-service into our processes so it’s easy for organisations to see the value and sign up as members and charter signatories, minimising the need for calls and meetings. For some organisations that extra bit of hand holding to get them over the line will be necessary and, in these circumstances, you’ll act as the front face of FutureDotNow.

• Member Value Proposition. You will shape and refine our value proposition to members, bringing the features and benefits to life in new and compelling ways that talk to the needs of business in their language. Effectively, you’ll be responsible for ‘productising’ our bank of reports and other resources into tools and solutions and identifying value that may have been overlooked. As part of this, you’ll maintain and develop the FutureDotNow’s training directory so it’s easy for employers to find high-quality training content that already exists.

• Organisational Maturity Framework Mapping. You’ll lead our work to position the Organisational Maturity Framework as a new way for businesses to understand the journey they may be on and position against peers (ideally creating FOMO along the way). You’ll own the first mapping of existing FutureDotNow tools and solutions to the Organisational Maturity Framework, prioritising quick wins that unlock member action, and developing this into a BAU process.

• Members Area. You will lead the strategy and delivery of our Members’ Area on the FutureDotNow website, defining the information architecture and content governance. You’ll use WordPress to add new content and keep existing content up-to-date and relevant. You’ll work closely with our Communications and Campaigns Manager to improve both the UX and value offer of the Member’s Area on our website, working with a third-party web development agency when required. 

• Digital Strategies & Campaigns. You will be responsible for setting digital strategies to engage existing members and grow the pipeline of new members and Charter signatories. You’ll create and deliver digital content and campaigns (website, social, email etc.) that drive membership engagement and growth, working with our Communications and Campaigns Manager. 

• Partner Engagement & Storytelling. You will establish efficient ways to engage with partner businesses and key stakeholders. You will work closely with our Communications and Campaigns Manager to create and deliver content that showcases what works and raises the profile of members, including case studies and other compelling content. 

• Data, Insight & CRM. You’ll own our CRM (HubSpot). You’ll use our CRM data, website analytics and member feedback to manage and enhance our value proposition, track engagement, segment the audience, and drive continuous improvement. This will include setting KPIs and monitoring campaign performance and reporting. 

• Empowering others. We have a significant community of influential organisations and individuals, and you’ll be responsible for developing and delivering content that enables us to work through them, making it easy for them to be advocates and encourage their peers to be part of the FutureDotNow coalition.

• Strong stakeholder management skills including experience owning commercial conversations, influencing decisionmakers and converting interest into commitment. 

• Strong CRM skills - ideally Hubspot as that’s the platform we use - and you’ll be comfortable using web and other analytics to drive improvement. 

• Confident using a content management system (CMS), ideally WordPress to add and maintain website content. 

• Strong end-to-end project delivery skills, including planning and reporting. You’ll be very organised and methodical, able to balance competing priorities and multiple streams of activity.

• You’ll be a clear communicator, adept at turning complex ideas into clear, motivating messages in line with brand voice.

• Experience working with senior leaders from a variety of industries and sectors. 

• And of course you’ll have strong digital capabilities!

The role:

Enquiries

• To be the first point of contact for all enquiries into the College managed through a digital ticketing system.
• Respond to enquiries using information and knowledge from all departments of the College, which often involves the interpretation and application of rules and procedures.  Use judgement to triage what action is required, where appropriate.
• Respond to all enquiries relating to qualification journeys, which includes information about the qualification/course, assistance in applying and payment, processing updates, help with learning journey on Learning Management System (LMS), the awarding and recertification of qualifications.
• Respond to all enquiries relating to membership, which includes help choosing the appropriate membership type and associated fees, renewals, upgrades, direct debits, and cancellation.
• Respond to all other enquiries, such as information on CoSRH events, and from prospective members about the work and activity of the College.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge about the work and activities of the College to help respond to enquiries.
• Show an interest and understanding of enquirer’s needs, with a view to continually searching for ways to improve the service and their experience.

Qualification processing

• Responsible for the administration and processing of all CoSRH qualifications, recertifications and recertification audits in line with agreed procedures and service level agreements (SLAs).
• Responsible for processing reasonable adjustment and extension requests.
• Work closely with relevant teams when new training, assessments or qualifications are introduced to ensure accurate administration and processing.
• Support the administration and processing of applications from outside the UK for international qualifications
• Continuously monitor system and processes so they are fit for purpose for efficient qualification processing.

Membership

• Take an active role in membership processing, supporting the annual membership renewals campaign (November-March) and adjustments throughout the calendar year.

Operational support

• Work with the Membership and Insights Manager to help identify trends and patterns from ticket enquiries to help drive improvement.
• Work closely with the Data Manager and Digital Manager to raise issues with the Customer Relationship Management system (CRM), Learning Management System (LMS) and website, which have been identified through ticket enquiries, and help where possible to support with a resolution. 
• Undertake other administrative work as requested by the Membership and Insights Manager
• Take an active role in data input and collection to help drive insights, improvements and quality control.
• Support the longer-term development and improvement of systems and processes, and contribute to wider departmental discussions.

Governance

• Support the development of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to help with efficiencies and quality assurance in the team.
• Create canned responses for use on frequent and complex enquiries to help aid efficiency in service delivery.
• Ensure compliance with GDPR and data protection principles while managing enquiry and application information.
• Actively participate in the delivery of continuous improvement, working collaboratively with colleagues across the College.
• Ensure all actions carried out in line with CoSRH’s standard policies and processes.
