About the Role

We are seeking a charity professional with evaluation and impact experience, and skills to develop Lewisham Local’s business functions such as service delivery impact with a focus on impact measurements of infrastructure work, premises, and admin.

This is a newly built role to support the charity’s new ambitious three-year strategy.

Main Objectives

• Develop and deliver the charity’s Impact and Evaluation framework
• Ensure charity’s CRM Salesforce is used at every level of capturing data

Support, develop and manage Lewisham Local’s business functions such as Admin and Premises management

Main Duties and Responsibilities

Impact Measurement

• Working closely with the SMT and project leads to understand the depth of the work carried out by Lewisham Local and develop an impact and evaluation framework to measure the success of our work.
• Train and support colleagues to ensure the framework is embedded into our daily work measuring the change created as a result of the work carried out by Lewisham Local.
• Run a quarterly impact report for SMT and Board
• Introduce data capture protocols and training on using the charity's CRM Salesforce to ensure data is recorded and up to date
• Act as a champion for this across the team

Manage Admin function

• Manage the two (job share - 0.8 & 0.2 FTE) Admin officers who support the CEO, Board and take on the general office admin tasks
• Develop and improve Lewisham Local’s admin processes

Manage premises – support and training will be offered

• Manage a Premises Coordinator (0.6FTE) in safe running the Orchard Gardens Community Centre
• Support the CEO in developing premises strategy and future proposals

Together with SMT and the CEO manage Lewisham local’s fundraising function, reviewing and contributing to the grant applications.

• Be a visible, active, positive and engaging presence within the community at local events, activities and meetings.
• Contribute and create regular communications content
• Champion the role of local giving, and the contribution of civil society in Lewisham

• Contribute to office organisation and administration responsibilities to ensure the effective running of the organisation and staff presence at the office premises
• Manage volunteers to achieve the portfolio and charity’s aims and objectives
• Attend regular team meetings and supervision sessions as required
• Undertake training and development as required
• Contribute to writing grant applications for future projects and core work

What the job involves

As our Senior People Services Manager, you’ll lead the day-to-day heartbeat of People Services and make sure every colleague has a smooth, supportive and high-quality experience throughout their time with us.

• Leading and developing the People Services & Payroll team so they have clarity, support and space to thrive.

What we want from you

• Strong HR operations experience at a senior level, with CIPD Level 5 or equivalent knowledge.

• Experience overseeing payroll operations and HR systems, with a practical understanding of data accuracy, GDPR and people metrics.

About you

• Minimum of 3 years’ experience of working in a busy supporter care environment, working to tight deadlines
• Experience of writing donor correspondence and creating data capture guidance

Role Overview

During the nine month contract, you’ll be responsible for project-managing the roll-out of our refreshed brand across all channels, event and audiences. You’ll bring your brand design and expertise to projects to ensure high quality brand implementation, acting as a brand guardian and increasing brand capability amongst our staff.

From funding state-of-the-art equipment and ground-breaking research, to creating the very best patient environments, we will never stop looking for ways to improve the lives of people affected by cancer. 

We are a very ambitious organisation which has gone through transformational growth over the past five years. Alongside funding an existing programme of world-leading research, treatment and care, the Charity completed its largest capital appeal to date, successfully raising £70 million to build the Oak Cancer Centre at the hospital’s Sutton site, which opened in summer 2023. 

With one in two of us expected to develop some form of cancer, it is essential that we go even further in our fundraising efforts to support the essential work of The Royal Marsden. Therefore, we are delivering our most ambitious strategy yet, that will see us raising at least £215m over the 5-year period.

The Charity is committed its biggest fundraising appeal to date, for a new major development project in Chelsea. There is also an extensive portfolio of engaging projects outside of the capital appeals that help to support all aspects of the hospital’s work to improve the lives of cancer patients.

Job purpose

Working relationships

Management of Casework Function

· Manage the day-to-day delivery of the casework service, ensuring cases are progressed efficiently and to a high standard.

· Directly line-manage the casework team, providing supervision, guidance, and support.

· Lead on induction, training, and ongoing development of caseworkers with the support of the Head of Operations.

· Oversee case allocation and workload management to ensure fair distribution and timely progression of cases.

· Provide advice and support on complex or sensitive cases and assist the team in resolving challenging situations.

Performance and Quality Management

· Oversee the production of casework statistics and reporting.

· Together with the Director of Casework, track and analyse casework metrics to assess performance against agreed casework KPIs to identify areas for improvement.

· Monitor the quality and consistency of casework decisions and outputs.

· Support the Director of Casework in responding to and resolving complaints.

Service Development

· Monitor workflow and identify opportunities to improve systems, processes, and service delivery.

· Support the implementation of new processes, systems, and digital tools as relevant to the Casework function introduced by the Organisation.

· Contribute to the development of best practice and consistent standards across the casework team.

Stakeholder Engagement

· Reporting to the Director of Casework, and working in collaboration with the Engagement Manager, grow Advocate’s  reach through regional expansion strategies

· Support the Casework team to develop and embed streamlined referral pathways with frontline legal advice agencies

· Support the delivery of external stakeholder engagement strategies led by the Director of Casework.

· Maintain relationships with the Bar through casework and relevant events

General

We are looking for a Later Living Community Manager to provide high-quality management to one of our Later Living communities. You will support residents to maintain their independence, resolve repairs and maintenance issues, and ensure safety and security across the premises. This role requires excellent communication skills and the ability to build strong relationships with colleagues and external partners. Our Later Living communities provide homes and services to residents generally over 55 years of age who benefit from additional support and security.

What you’ll do

As a Later Living Community Manager, you will be the key point of contact for residents, providing practical assistance and managing their expectations. You will assess residents’ needs, signpost to specialist services, and identify safeguarding concerns where necessary. You will oversee tenancy sign-ups, support new residents, and maintain accurate case management records. The role involves monitoring repairs and maintenance, supervising contractors, and ensuring compliance with health and safety requirements, including fire safety. You will also foster a sense of community by organising activities that promote wellbeing and engagement, while line-managing a Domestic Assistant/Premises Assistant to maintain high standards of cleanliness. Covering other communities when required and attending training will also form part of your responsibilities.

What you’ll need

• Experience supporting vulnerable adults and knowledge of health and social care issues in a residential setting
• Experience conducting risk assessments and managing housing-related tasks, including reporting repairs and health and safety
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with proven ability to deliver excellent customer care
• Competent IT skills, including Microsoft Office and case management systems

Solace is embarking on a new five-year fundraising strategy, with ambitious plans to double fundraised income to £3m by 2031. Purpose of role

The Business Development Manager will lead our efforts to secure high-profile, high-value partnerships with corporate organisations  that will generate vital income for children's palliative care. Securing new partnerships and growing our income requires exceptional collaboration skills; a driven, tenacious and resourceful nature; innovation and creativity; and a passionate determination to make a difference to the lives of children and families across the UK.

The main objectives are as follows:

1. Secure new corporate partnerships raising funds to support Together for Short Lives’ direct work, and our National Fundraising Scheme (raising funds on behalf of the UK’s children’s hospices).
2. Develop and deliver a business development strategy, including  prospect research, managing  a robust pipeline of opportunities, and developing a diverse range of business development products. 
3. Manage and develop relationships with a portfolio of individual contacts and organisations, including prospective and existing supporters.
