About the Role

The Director of Programmes is a new senior leadership role responsible for ensuring the integration, effectiveness, and evidence-based delivery of Screen Share's sector-leading programmes. The role sits at the heart of the charity and will oversee the development and execution of programmatic plans that deliver our new organisational strategy. It will oversee and advance our key programme areas, including digital access, digital skills, digital connectivity and IT repair.

The postholder will be responsible for the smooth running of our charitable programmes, managing staff and ensuring our monitoring and evaluation and safeguarding is of a high quality. They will work closely with the Head of Operations to ensure a high-quality and multi-faceted support product for thousands of refugees across the UK, managing risk and budgets accordingly. They will also work closely with the Head of Outreach to ensure we are communicating our social value proposition effectively. 

The Director of Programmes will play a crucial role in translating strategic objectives into clear operational outcomes, overseeing the performance of programme managers, and leading a collaborative approach to programme delivery across the organisation. They will also deputise for the CEO, ensuring strong organisational leadership as the charity continues to grow and mature. 

The Director of Programmes will also champion the integration of lived experience leadership throughout the organisation, ensuring that the perspectives and expertise of refugees and those with lived experience of digital exclusion are embedded within programme design, delivery, decision-making and strategic direction at Screen Share. 

The postholder will also serve as the Designated Safeguarding Lead, ensuring that safeguarding practices are fully integrated into all programme strands and that our safeguarding process and practices are up-to-date, understood and activated in an inclusive and trauma-informed way.

We’re looking for a dedicated and experienced leader to join our team as a Vision Rehabilitation Service Manager. In this role, you’ll lead and manage a regional operations team delivering person-centred services to adults and their families, helping them live the life they choose.

You’ll be responsible for overseeing the operational delivery of Vision Rehabilitation Services across a geographical area, ensuring consistency, quality, and compliance with national standards. You’ll work 35 hours per week, typically Monday to Friday, 9am–5pm. Some flexibility will be required to occasionally work outside these core hours. This role includes line management responsibility for teams across Scotland, so regular travel across the country will be required for meetings and 1‑2‑1s. Your nominated office will be Forfar or Glasgow, however homeworking will be permitted on non‑travel days.

We are recruiting for a Group Media Manager

Summary

This role has a crucial part to play in Nesta’s success, using the media as a key channel in building Nesta’s influence, profile and impact. Working as part of an expert communications team, you will plan and deliver media activity targeting policymakers and the wider policy and government communities, as well as specific practitioner groups or segments of the public.

Your focus will be largely but not exclusively on our three missions; health, decarbonising heat, and early years. You will also work widely and flexibly on a range of broader topics, collaborating with experts across all of Nesta, as well as working with researchers and behavioural scientists at BIT.

You will take a flexible approach to media audiences, focusing on traditional and legacy media as key sources of influence but also leaning heavily into ‘newer’ outlets and platforms, ranging from policy podcasts to media startups and key Substack influencers, as essential routes to the audiences we need to reach and engage.

This is a hands-on role that combines the tactical delivery of media activity with the strategic planning that is required to build Nesta’s media profile, protect our reputation and position us as an organisation that is a world leader in driving innovation for social good.

What you’ll be doing:

Lead on the development and delivery of UK media plans that support the strategic objectives of Nesta and BIT

• Work collaboratively to shape stories that involve a cross-functional range of colleagues from disciplines including data science, design, behaviour science and policy and research
• Actively seek out proactive opportunities to build our profile among journalists in our three mission areas (health, decarbonising homes, early years), as well as more generally
• Work with colleagues at BIT to grow and build the reputation of the organisation as a world-class research and innovation consultancy that uses a deep understanding of human behaviour to improve people's lives.
• Accelerate our journey from a primarily legacy media-focused media team to a hybrid model where ‘newer media’ is just as important, building relationships with these outlets, writers and broadcasters and securing high-impact coverage
• Monitor relevant breaking news stories and political and policy developments, identifying and quickly capitalising on relevant opportunities for Nesta’s missions and brand
• Protect Nesta’s reputation, develop and implement crisis management media strategies and rebuttal as required
• Identify, develop and maintain relationships with key media and internal and external stakeholders, including taking the lead on managing and coordinating internal and external relationships to progress media stories, statements and positions, with often competing priorities and time pressure
• Develop and maintain Nesta’s cohort of case studies across its consumer-facing projects and services, building relationships with these contacts as advocates of Nesta’s mission goals
• Ensure the smooth day-to-day running of the Nesta press office through developing shared resources and reporting key success metrics
• Support colleagues in the Nesta communications team by guiding and supporting their media outreach, and by acting as a source of expert advice on media for the rest of the organisation
• Covering media enquiries out of hours as and when required
• Deputising for the senior media manager as and when required 

What we’re looking for:

• Professional media relations experience (essential): You will have proven experience of working in a busy press office (ideally a policy-focused media team), with at least 80% of your time spent on media. A creative thinker and experienced writer and editor, you will have experience working on a variety of stories and you think cross-channel. You have a solid understanding of how the media environment works, how it's changing and what that demands from organisations like Nesta and BIT.
• Knowledge and understanding of the UK policy context (essential): You will have worked at the interface of communications and policy, possibly in government, a thinktank, NGO or in the private sector. You will appreciate the pace, nuance and strategic thinking required to operate in a media team that is deeply connected across government, industry and practitioner groups
• Excellent writing skills (essential): You will be a superb writer, capable of adapting your style across different channels to reach audiences in the most effective way. The ability to work quickly and flexibly in the role is important. You will be as comfortable advising on a longer-term strategic project as you will be turning around flawless copy on a breaking news story.
• Project delivery skills (essential): You will have proven experience in delivering high-impact communications campaigns from conception to delivery and evaluation. You can proactively plan and deliver work, identify and act on risks and find solutions.
• Strong interpersonal and networking skills (essential): You will have experience in applying these effectively to collaborate well with colleagues, build stakeholder relationships and develop partnerships. You bring with you a bank of trusted contacts and you are always looking to expand your range of trusted contacts across media.

As with all members of Nesta Group's communications team, the post holder will be at their best working in a collaborative, fast-paced environment with multiple projects and priorities. They will have a positive, can-do attitude and a flexible approach, able to adapt to changing circumstances with good humour and an appetite for taking on new tasks and challenges. They will also have strong communication skills, the ability to write and edit content for different audiences and a proven ability in (or enthusiasm to learn) web publishing and the creation of simple communications products like social cards or videos.

What we offer

Salary: £49,200 - £65,800 plus an array of benefits including private medical insurance, dental insurance, the ability to buy and sell annual leave, eyecare vouchers and more. Offers are usually made at the bottom of the band.

Location: Hybrid, with two days per week in the London office. We ask that our team attend the office on Tuesday and one other day of their choice.

Term: Full-time, permanent

Hours: 37.5 hours per week. Occasional out-of-hours work (evenings, weekends, and public holidays) will be required to fulfil the role.

Flexibility: This is a full-time role, but we offer a range of flexible working arrangements and encourage our people to take advantage of them. Many do.

Purpose

This role will report to the Executive Director, Finance and Operations, and will be responsible for providing executive assistance to three Executive Team members; the Executive Director, Finance and Operations (EDF&O), the Director of Communications and External Affairs (DCEA) and the Director, London (DL). The main duties include scheduling meetings, handling correspondence and assisting with the management of projects that all Directors are involved in. Main Responsibilities

Working as the Executive Assistant & Project Manager to three Executive Team members for Citizens UK, reporting to Executive Director, Finance and Operations, your main responsibilities will include:

Contribute towards CUK’s mission and strategic objectives through Executive Support function

· Manage Executive Director/Directors diaries including booking meetings, scheduling attendees and organising venues, in person and online.

· Manage Executive Director/Directors correspondence including prioritising and responding to emails.

· Schedule Appraisal and Supervision meetings and visits: ensuring Executive Director/Directors time is well used through proper preparation and follow-up with direct reports, other local staff and external stakeholders.

· Process expenses for Executive Director/Directors as well as processing of invoice payments.

· Maintain an electronic filing system, ensuring processes and software are up to date and in working order.

· Provide management and administrative support to assist Executive Director/Directors in their workload.

- Lead coordination of monthly financial budget calls, including scheduling and managing diaries for approximately 17 chapter meetings each month, alongside quarterly budget review sessions.

- Provide live meeting support for all budget calls, including screen sharing, documenting key points, managing attendance, and ensuring smooth delivery of all administrative aspects.

Overview

The Regional Project Co-Ordinator will support the planning, coordination and delivery of programmes and initiatives designed to support individuals who have spent part of their childhood in the care system.

Working closely with colleagues, delivery partners and stakeholders, the Project Co-Ordinator will help ensure programme activity runs smoothly and reaches those who may benefit most. The role combines organisational project coordination with hands on delivery, including supporting workshops, events and engagement activity with partners and care experienced people.

Key Responsibilities

1. Project Management

• Oversee the day to day coordination of programmes and initiatives.

As Head of Programmes, you will join our senior management team, overseeing the growing programmes team. Strategic Leadership of the Scholarship Programme

• Provide strategic oversight of the end-to-end Martingale Scholarship lifecycle, from selection and admissions through to scholar progression and alumni outcomes.

University & Sector Partnerships (Programme-Focused)

• Lead programme-level relationships with university partners, including Heads of Departments, Graduate Tutors, CDT leads, and admissions teams.

Kairos Women Working Together (Kairos) was founded in 1999 by a group of women in Coventry who recognised that those facing multiple disadvantages, and therefore most at risk of sexual exploitation, were falling through the cracks of existing services. Overview of Post

The Operations & Administration Support role is a vital part-time position responsible for the seamless operational flow of Kairos. Key duties encompass a broad range of administrative functions, from managing the main email inbox and creating visual content to accurate data entry and essential record-keeping. The role provides front-of-house support, welcoming women and visitors attending our Women’s Hub and ensuring its smooth running through monitoring and ordering essential supplies and liaising with CV Life regarding building maintenance and cleaning services. Main Responsibilities

Digital & Communications

• Manage the admin email inbox, responding to all queries promptly and forwarding communications to relevant staff members as appropriate

As a key member of the Creative Content team, the Senior Graphic Designer will lead on and produce all aspects of creative design and branded materials. Key Purpose: The postholder will play a key role in strengthening knowledge, understanding, and best practice both within the sector and externally with service providers and the public, helping to remove barriers for assistance dog partnerships.

Internal focus: Coordinate the learning and development of ADUK member organisations, ensuring access to high-quality resources, training, and support to maintain knowledge sharing and best practice development across the sector.

External focus: Deliver education engagements and training to stakeholders, including businesses, service providers, and the public, through ADUK’s wider education initiatives and the new Corporate Allyship Programme.

Key Responsibilities

Learning:

• Manage ADUK’s shared Learning Management System (Moodle) and training platform, supporting members to make the most of the available content and resources.

Knowledge Sharing:

• Collaborate with staff and volunteers from member organisations and candidates to identify learning needs and expertise.
• Coordinate engaging and effective knowledge-sharing programmes aligned with member needs.

Education Delivery:

• Work with ADUK colleagues to coordinate and deliver engaging education initiatives, both in-person and virtually, for service providers and public services.
• Coordinate logistics for external training events, including venues and registrations.
• Support delivery of training for the ADUK’s Corporate Allyship Programme in collaboration with relevant colleagues.

Partnerships and Collaboration:

• Identify opportunities to work with external bodies, partners, and stakeholders to deliver training and share knowledge with the wider community.

Evaluation and Impact:

• Evaluate and assess the effectiveness of knowledge-sharing programmes and external training and explore how best to leverage this evidence. 
• Prepare and present impact reports to inform continuous improvement.

Essential Knowledge, Skills and Attributes:

• Recent and relevant experience (3 years +) in designing and delivering in-person and online training and educational workshops and programmes.
• Excellent presentation and facilitation skills, with the ability to engage diverse audiences.
• Experience in managing learning management systems (LMS) and digital learning tools, (preferably Moodle based LMS)
• Excellent organisations skills with the ability to prioritise tasks and coordinate multiple organisations and stakeholders.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and concisely.
• Confident relationship building skills.
• A collaborative and adaptable approach to teamwork, with the ability to work effectively as part of a small team that sits within a large membership network.
• Be able and willing to travel extensively (across England, Wales and Scotland) to deliver in person training.

Our incredible volunteers run more than 200 branches and locations across the UK and Ireland. They offer their time to help to deliver our 24-hour emotional support service to callers in many ways, from answering telephones and emails, to fundraising, generating publicity, administration and finance.

About the Role

Our Volunteer Experience Team support over 20,000 volunteers and no two days are the same. You’ll be responsible for supporting our network of volunteers and volunteer leaders in engaging and managing volunteers, as well as involved in a variety of creative new projects helping us to provide a positive and rewarding experience for anyone that gives their time to Samaritans.

You’ll play a key advisory, analytical and development focused role, supporting volunteers and volunteer leaders on all volunteer management matters, including sensitive and sometimes complex situations. You’ll also deliver impactful initiatives and projects that strengthen and enhance the volunteer experience, helping shape the ongoing development of Samaritans’ volunteer management and support practices.​

• £30,000 - £35,000 per annum

• Full time (35 hours per week)

What you’ll be doing

• Providing expert advice and guidance to branches and regions on all volunteer management matters.
• Analysing complex or sensitive situations to identify key issues, risks, and appropriate courses of action.
• Developing and delivering initiatives and projects that strengthen and enhance the volunteer experience at Samaritans.
• Drafting clear, well-structured and professional written communications, including reports and formal correspondence.
• Supporting learning, training and resources that build confidence and capability in Volunteer Leaders.
• Contributing to the development and refinement of volunteer policies, processes and guidance.
• Supporting the fair, balanced and proportionate handling and effective resolution of volunteer concerns and complaints
• Identifying themes, risks, and organisational learning opportunities to inform continuous improvement.
• Working collaboratively with colleagues and stakeholders across the organisation.

​You’ll ideally bring:

• Experience working with or supporting volunteer, or advising on people related matters.
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret complex and sensitive situations, producing analysis and meaningful conclusions.
• The ability to exercise sound judgement and take a balanced, proportionate approach.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong project management experience, including the development and delivery or improvement focused initiatives.
• A proactive, solutions focused and improvement-oriented mindset
• Knowledge of principles of natural justice and complaints management, and effective people resolution good practice.
• Experience of providing advice, training or support on volunteering matters.
• Experience and understanding of navigating organisational risk and safeguarding related volunteer matters .
• Report writing and presentation skills.
• Experience in prioritising workloads and working to deadlines with speed and accuracy.
