The WiSER Project (Women’s Safe Engagement and Recovery Project) began in April 2018 and works across 8 London Boroughs. The service provides an intensive outreach intervention and model of support for women experiencing VAWG and severe multiple disadvantage. The service aims to improve outcomes across the following key areas of women’s lives: access to support and services, health and safety, economic wellbeing, opportunities to enjoy and achieve.

 The work is an assertive outreach caseworker role; an Advocate will be responsible for supporting 5 women in their assigned borough. You will be able to demonstrate knowledge of the intersection between severe and multiple disadvantage and VAWG and a strong understanding of how this can make it difficult for women to engage with support. You will have worked with people experiencing various aspects of severe and multiple disadvantage: homelessness, substance use, mental health issues, insecure immigration status, prostitution, offending history and children taken into care.

About You

You will have experience supporting women and children affected by violence against women and girls (VAWG), including undertaking risk assessment, safety planning and managing high‑risk cases. You will be confident working with people experiencing severe and multiple disadvantage and skilled in effective multi‑agency partnership working. You will bring a strong understanding of domestic abuse, including the practical, emotional and financial impacts, alongside knowledge of housing, welfare, safeguarding for adults and children, and relevant policy. You will be calm under pressure, with strong crisis management, problem‑solving and time‑management skills, and able to manage and monitor a small service user welfare budget responsibly.

· Demonstrable experience of working with people affected by VAWG

Mind in Croydon is seeking a compassionate, proactive and community-focused Social Networking Caseworker to support adults experiencing severe and enduring mental health challenges to build confidence, strengthen social networks and engage in meaningful community activities.

This is a person-centred, recovery-focused role working with a caseload of up to 35 individuals. You will support people to identify their goals, access mainstream opportunities such as education, physical activity, cultural groups and volunteering, and gradually reduce reliance on statutory services where appropriate.

The role combines direct one-to-one support, partnership working with mental health professionals and community organisations, and the development of group activities at Fairfield House, Croydon. You will play a key role in enabling people to rebuild independence, confidence and community connections.

This post requires flexibility to meet the needs of the service, which may include occasional weekend work, as part of the rota. Time off in lieu (TOIL) will be provided where additional hours are worked, and there is no routine expectation of frequent out-of-hours working.

As a long-standing partner in the DFA programme, we have over a decade of experience delivering high-quality debt advice to local residents facing financial hardship. 

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate adviser with a proven track record of supporting clients with debt and financial difficulties. You will be confident in delivering tailored, practical solutions and working with clients in a sensitive, non-judgemental way. Experience of providing debt advice in a regulated environment and working to quality standards is essential.

This is a hybrid role, combining face to face work at outreach locations and home working. You will deliver advice across multiple channels, including face-to-face, telephone, video and email.

About the Service

Our Peripatetic Team provide front-line support to Solace’s Advice, Community and Accommodation-based Services across London. Crisis Intervention Workers enable our services to deliver a consistent high standard of service.

The team was created in order to have trained, skilled staff ready to cover gaps in service and facilitate the continued smooth running of services, proactively supporting women and children who have experienced domestic abuse.  They are required to go into different teams and quickly establish themselves and provide support in times where staff teams may be struggling.

About the Role

In all services, peri workers provide nonjudgmental, confidential, and psychologically-informed support to survivors of domestic and sexual abuse. Typical tasks include risk assessment, safety planning, and working with survivors to develop individual support plans.  Other roles require house management, outreach and health and safety tasks.

Peri workers have the opportunity to work in a variety of roles across Solace’s services. Working across departments offers peri workers the ability to continually develop their knowledge, casework skills, advocacy skills, multi-agency working, and ability to manage and thrive in a changing environment.

The role will involve commuting to sites across London, and although hybrid working may be available in some projects it is not possible for all. Travel is taken into consideration when confirming placements, however you should be prepared for longer commutes.

This role in certain placements will require you to work a rota including weekend hours between 8am – 8pm.

The Peripatetic Team is dynamic – entering services at short notice to provide a continued level of support. Our colleagues bring a wide range of transferrable skills and different experiences to the team that informs our practice and work with survivors.

The Peripatetic Team is looking for passionate advocates who understand the importance of working in a psychologically-informed way with both survivors and colleagues, who are willing to continuously learn and develop their skills, and who understand the impacts violence against women and girls can have on women with intersecting identities. While prior experience of working with survivors of abuse is desirable, it is not a requirement and if you have transferrable skills and a passion for supporting women and children then we would love to hear from you.

You will be a great fit in the Peri Team if you embrace change, have a growth mindset, and are comfortable working independently. Although peri workers are dispersed across different services, the team offers regular opportunities to connect with fellow peri colleagues.

Role overview 

The purpose of the role is to assist some of the most vulnerable people in our society with immigration legal advice and representation. The focus of the legal work is on non-legal aid funded matters, representing people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness and otherwise have no access to legal advice, to regularise their immigration status in the UK.

We are only considering applicants with relevant legal experience. Qualifications needed are IAA, IAAS or Solicitor with 1 year+ immigration experience. 

Key Responsibilities

Case management 

1. Manage own caseload, working to advance the best interests of the client
2. Adhere to standards set out by IAA/SRA
3. Provide advice and representation up to IAA level 2/3
4. Engage with the Line Manager to create and follow a training plan to ensure compliance with IAA CPD, keeping up to date with changes in law, policy and guidance to ensure clients receive accurate and high-quality advice
5. Liaise directly with the UKVI and related governmental agencies
6. Complete forms, letters and immigration applications 
7. Liaise with and refer clients to Legal Aid Solicitors or other advisers, as appropriate
8. Manage clients’ expectations by discussing deadlines, outcomes and timing 
9. Deliver legal advice outreach surgeries/drop in as and when required 
10. Progress cases in a timely manner in line with regulatory requirements

The Billing Coordinator (Legal Aid) is a collaborative role and part of the Billing Project, an initiative by the London Legal Support Trust (LLST) aimed at providing specialist support to the free advice sector in London. 

Key purpose of the Billing Coordinator is to:

• Develop systems that ensure the smooth and efficient billing of legal aid for LRMN, Barking and Dagenham Citizens Advice and Cardinal Hume Centre.
• Provide a crucial coordination role within the organisations, supporting lawyers in ensuring files are billed promptly and accurately while maximising income from legal aid.

The Billing Coordinator will be employed by LRMN and work across three host organisations. You will collaborate with other coordinators in the sector, some of whom have participated in previous pilot projects. Peer-to-peer support will be available to the postholder, and specialist training will be provided to anyone looking to grow within the role.

Candidates must have strong IT and organisational skills with experience of working within a legal aid practice.
