Our client is the UK's only theatre company and participatory arts charity focused on addiction. This charity develops, nurtures and produces new writing and performances connected to substance misuse, touring to off-West End venues, festivals, treatment facilities and other civic spaces. Alongside its productions, they run weekly participatory workshops and delivers drama, dance and creative writing taster sessions in treatment facilities, using creativity to support confidence, self-esteem and lasting positive change in people's lives. Our client is recruiting a Senior Development Manager, and Prospectus is leading the search.

Senior Development Manager

Full time, 40 hours per week (open to part time, flexible working and job share)

Hybrid working (at least 50% office based in E1 5HU)

£40,000–£45,000 per annum

This is a newly created role, which will help take the charity's fundraising to the next level. The new Senior Development Manager will grow existing income (trusts, foundations and statutory) and develop newer income streams (individual giving and corporate partnerships). Supported by the charity's Artistic Director/CEO and an expert Development Subcommittee, the Senior Development Manager will lead on the development and delivery of the fundraising strategy, securing five- and six-figure gifts and working towards an ambition to raise around £300,000 per year within the first two years. The role also includes oversight of regular supporter communications (including a monthly newsletter) and the use of tools such as Salesforce and Mailchimp, while keeping up to date with fundraising compliance, policy and sector trends.

To be successful, you will bring substantial experience of delivering significant fundraising targets, ideally in the arts or cultural, or social welfare sectors, and a strong track record of generating income from a mix of the income streams mentioned above. ABOUT THE ROLE
We are looking for a creative and dynamic person with a proven track record in creating, delivering and managing digital content across social media platforms to develop, implement and manage strategies to grow our online presence and raise our profile.

You’ll have demonstrable experience across a wide range of social media platforms with the ability to craft engaging content to build a rapport with your audience while continuing to uphold our brand and professional values. You will be managing multiple accounts held by the charity.

You will have experience of using third party management tools to create, plan and schedule content, analysing reach and engagement, and using analytical tools to help make informed decisions about our digital marketing strategies. You will regularly report back to the management team feeding into our wider strategy discussions, making recommendations on future campaigns. 

You will be part of a wider communications team, working alongside the PR & Communications Manager, reporting to one of the trustees, fostering an organisation-wide approach working with all colleagues to ensure a planned, structured and collaborative approach to our communications and marketing planning.
As a small charity, flexibility is key to meet the needs of our shifting priorities and in between delivering and managing social media content – your primary focus –  you will additionally support wider marketing activities with creation of digital content to support charity advertising, support the development of our online (web) content and more general activities across the communications team. While there will be some level of existing experience, training will be provided for anything bespoke.

As part of the role, you will help our UK-based volunteers to develop local social media activities and support them as required. This may involve making recommendations in their approach, supporting content creation and upskilling them to gain confidence in using social media.

The role is remote and the successful applicant can work from a location of their choice, making optimum use of video conferencing and online collaboration tools to connect with the wider communications team.

Some UK travel within the role is expected with the charity reimbursing reasonable UK travel costs where agreed up front and on behalf of the charity. 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Own and lead social media execution, from planning through to delivery across multiple accounts and multiple platforms
• Develop content and strategy for new (to IA) and new-to-market platforms
• Develop and deliver relevant content that drives awareness, engagement and conversation in line with IA’s aims and objectives
• Work closely with communications peers, wider staff and volunteers to deliver meaningful campaigns which aligns to IA’s purpose and support model

PERSON SPECIFICATION

ESSENTIAL

• Experience in developing and implementing social media strategies and content in a similar role for at least 12 months 
• A thorough working knowledge of a wide range of social media platforms
• Third-party applications to manage social media content across a range of platforms in addition to regular reporting and provision of management information to help the team make informed decisions to support the wider charity’s wider digital marketing strategy.

• Experience in social media moderation

The Data Governance Lead ensures UNICEF UK maximises the value of its supporter data by setting, maintaining, and embedding robust data governance standards across the organisation. The role leads key governance processes—including RoPA maintenance, soft opt‑in compliance, and data‑retention oversight—and works closely with Data Engineering and Data Analysis leads to align governance with wider data architecture and operational practice. As the organisation’s primary governance specialist during the EML cover period, the postholder provides expert guidance, documentation, and oversight to ensure all supporter‑data processing is compliant, well‑controlled, and clearly understood across teams.

The role requires strong experience working with complex supporter‑data environments, including expertise in data governance frameworks, and documentation of processing activities such as RoPA. About Chapter One

Chapter One is a growing charity dedicated to ensuring every child has access to one-to-one reading support at the time they need it most. 

We support children at every stage of their primary reading journey through three programmes - Early Literacy Intervention, Online Reading Volunteers, and Book Clubs - helping them build both the will and the skill to read. Our innovative Online Reading Volunteers Programme aims to support 3,500 children facing disadvantage during the 2025-26 academic year, pairing five to eight-year-old children with reading support volunteers from over 180 local and national businesses. About the role

With ambitious targets to support thousands more children by 2029, Chapter One is seeking a passionate, energetic Fundraising Officer to be an integral part of our Fundraising team. Reporting to our Fundraising Manager, you’ll generate income from a range of existing and new trusts and foundations, along with individual fundraising activities, to contribute towards the 2025-26 fundraising target. The fundraising budget in 2026-27 will be £356,000, when you’ll have an individual target.

This role is ideal for an early career professional who can write creative, compelling proposals and build impactful relationships to make your mark in a fast-growing charity which is flexible and agile. You’ll be a proactive, determined self-starter and have high standards for yourself and others. You’ll develop and manage a funding pipeline by investing in thorough research and relationship cultivation, and you will thrive in working with funders, partners and supporters on a day-to-day basis. 

Key responsibilities

Deliver the fundraising plan 

• Work collaboratively with the Fundraising Manager to grow Chapter One’s fundraising portfolio and meet agreed income targets from trusts and foundations. 

• Maintain a portfolio of existing trusts and foundations, ensuring an excellent cultivation and stewardship journey​ in order to build relationships and maximise income. 

• Proactively identify and research new prospective trust funders, finding creative ways to engage with them to secure support.

• Create compelling and tailored fundraising applications and reports, ensuring there is a strong emotional case for support and accuracy, to inspire prospects and supporters across trusts and foundations. 

• Contribute to the highest levels of donor care for supporters, including creative stewardship, adhering to all grant conditions and responding in a timely manner to all enquiries from supporters and prospects. 

• Research, interpret and present data about literacy and impact that makes a compelling case for Chapter One’s programmes. 

• Contribute to internal planning and budget setting for restricted and unrestricted activities, setting out clear plans and a pipeline for income generation from trusts and foundations.

• Work with the Fundraising Manager, Corporate Partnerships team and Communications team to support the development of strategies and campaigns to grow individual giving from existing volunteers and supporters.

• Undertake administrative duties to support the delivery of individual fundraising initiatives including matched-giving campaigns and Payroll Giving. 

• Work closely with the Fundraising Manager, Corporate Partnerships team and Communications team to ensure a cohesive approach and maximise all fundraising opportunities.

General

• Oversee and maintain specific fundraising administrative processes, including recording of activity on the Salesforce CRM and internal databases.

• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of fundraising regulations, networks, and developments across the sector.

• Contribute to forecasting and regular reporting, producing verbal and written reports for senior management as required.

We are seeking a Widening Access and Outreach Manager. The role holder will join the Culture and Learning Team within the People Directorate and will report into the EDI Strategic Lead. The role will involve working closely with our Defence and Security programme and partners. 

CANDIDATE PROFILE

The Widening Access and Outreach Manager will be responsible for managing and delivering a widening participation careers project within defence and security. The project targets activities for children, young people and undergraduates including summer schools, internships and school and university presentations. The project aims to increase awareness, understanding and connection to defence and security data science careers from groups previously underrepresented in these roles. The project will involve working closely with the Turing’s Defence and Security Partners and other organisations to deliver a range of activities aimed at increasing the diversity of those taking up data science careers in the defence and security field. This role will have line management responsibilities as well as supervise the facilitators working on the project. 

DUTIES AND AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY

• Manage the delivery of the Defence and Security Data Science Careers projects. This includes summer schools and career talks in locations across the UK and an undergraduate careers programme.
• Prioritizing safeguarding and health and safety at all stages of development and delivery. 
• Scope and shape additional opportunities for engagement aligning work strategically to the goals of The Institute. 
• Manage multiple stakeholders, including the Turing’s Defence and Security Partners and youth delivery partner(s) to ensure stakeholder engagement and collaboration.
• Manage recruitment, onboarding, pastoral and safeguarding support of participants. This will include under 18s and undergraduates.
• Drive curriculum development incorporating Human-Centred Design (UCD/HCD) to ensure programs are relevant, engaging, and audience appropriate. 
• Lead the end-to-end curriculum design and content creation process, including quality assurance and iterative review. This involves collaboratively engaging internal peer experts (e.g., from Defence and Security) and managing project volunteers to translate complex scientific research into vibrant, age-appropriate project topics and educational materials for school-age learners. 
• Lead the development and execution of an audience-informed project communications strategy. This includes direct collaboration with the Communications team to create and deploy effective advertising and engagement materials. 

Due to the nature of this role, key delivery periods take place during school holidays (including the summer period). During these times, some unsocial hours may be required and annual leave may be restricted. Time off in lieu will be provided in line with company policy. The role will also require occasional travel across the UK. Further details will be discussed at interview.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

• Qualification or equivalent experience in project management and delivery
• Degree or qualification related to working with young people, e.g. PGCE, Youth Work, Social Work
• Experience of delivering complex projects with multiple stakeholders
• Experience of leading and direct delivery of programmes working with under 18s, young people and undergraduates. Such as in an educational setting or otherwise
• Comprehensive knowledge and applied experience leading statutory Safeguarding responsibilities for young people, demonstrating a thorough grasp of multi-agency procedures, relevant legislation, and practical implementation
• Strong practical project management skills, specifically in timeline development and tracking using industry-standard tools like Gantt charts
• Experience in the design and facilitation of engaging learning programs and professional development sessions specifically for under 18’s, young people and undergraduate students
• Experience in developing and facilitating high-impact training informed by data-driven skills gap analysis across multiple organizational levels.

The role

As a Grant Programme Manager, you will oversee a multi-country grant portfolio, ensure strong financial stewardship, drive performance against strategic targets and strengthen partnerships with programme partners and donors.

Responsibilities

We are seeking a motivated Grant Programme Manager to join our Global Programmes team within GIF. In this role, you will be responsible for managing a complex grant portfolio and ensuring effective delivery, financial oversight and strategic alignment.

1. Oversee and manage a portfolio of Small Farm Fund projects across multiple countries, ensuring delivery against BCI strategy and BCSS targets.
2. Lead grant application and assessment processes, including reviewing proposals, analysing organisational viability and contributing to funding recommendations.
3. Ensure effective financial stewardship of donor funds, reviewing budgets, tracking expenditure and identifying risks or corrective actions where required.
4. Monitor and evaluate portfolio performance, ensuring robust data quality, learning integration and continuous improvement.
5. Represent GIF in internal governance forums, including the Field Investment and Innovation Committee, contributing to funding decisions and strategic discussions.
6. Engage with donors and external stakeholders, supporting reporting, relationship management and future funding opportunities.
7. Support Large Farm Fund and Knowledge Partner Fund rounds, including assessment, monitoring and stakeholder engagement.

Experience

We are looking for candidates with the following skills, knowledge and experience:

1. Degree in Agronomy, International Development, Anthropology or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
2. Demonstrated experience managing complex grant or project portfolios within rural development or sustainability contexts.
3. Experience working with commercial and institutional donors, including proposal development and reporting.
4. Strong financial oversight experience, including reviewing budgets and financial performance.
5. Experience using MEL frameworks, logframes and performance monitoring tools.
6. Willingness to travel for project visits twice a year (trips of between 7-10 days), and up to 2 trips per year for team/organisational meetings in Europe. If the successful applicant is based in one of our programme countries ie. CDI, India or Pakistan, the number of project visits would be greater.

About the Role

The primary focus of the Grants Officer is to support schools and youth organisations to operate the Jack Petchey Achievement Award scheme effectively and to promote, grow and deliver this and other Jack Petchey Foundation (JPF) grant programmes across London and Essex. This role will be responsible for Districts across Essex and act as the lead for specific uniform groups who deliver their activities in Essex.

This is a new role created following a recent restructure of the Grants team. It is offered initially as a 12- month contract (0.6 FTE / 22.5 hours per week) to support the growth of our Achievement Award scheme across Essex, with the potential of an extension, following review and subject to available funding. Evening and weekend work is a requirement of this role, which on occasion can require up to two to three out-of-hours events in one week, depending on the event schedule. 2.1 Develop relationships with and support schools, alternative provision, and youth organisations on the Jack Petchey Achievement Award (AA) scheme to operate the scheme to the highest possible standard

2.2 Provide timely support to such organisations to enable them to run the AA scheme effectively

2.3 Implement a strategic approach to conducting face-to-face and digital assessment and monitoring visits to schools and youth organisations in your area on the Jack Petchey Achievement Award scheme, to ensure our funding is well spent and to identify opportunities to improve delivery

3 Administer the Jack Petchey Foundation grant making process

3.1 Ensure accurate records are kept on the Foundation’s database (Salesforce), including up-to-date contact details and records of communication with groups in receipt of or applying for grants

3.2 Approve/authorise payment of AA grants and related programmes in accordance with our policies

3.3 Ensure appropriate grant reporting by schools and youth organisations and negotiate return of funds where a grant has not been used in accordance with conditions

3.4 Proactively manage risk, being alert to potential fraud 3.5 Ensure that clubs and groups receive all necessary materials to operate the Achievement Award scheme effectively

3.6 Assess and approve Leader Awards and Environmental Awards in accordance with our policy

3.7 Assess applications for Leader Award Grants, Educational Visits and Learning Experiences Grants and Environmental Award Grants in accordance with our policy, with recommendations put forward to senior staff

3.8 Provide regular updates on your work and Grants Officer patch during monthly one-to-ones

4 Promote the wider work of the Jack Petchey Foundation to schools and youth groups

4.1 Identify case studies and other stories and material that can be used for our communications, supporting communications team colleagues to raise awareness of our opportunities and impact

4.2 Represent the Foundation at digital and physical events, local networks, funders’ fairs, and community or young people’s forums to help promote our Grant Programmes and other opportunities

4.3 Assist with digital and face-to-face monitoring and reporting in relation to groups that have received a Jack Petchey Foundation Project Grant or other funding Promote the wider work of the Jack Petchey Foundation to schools and youth groups

Other Responsibilities

5.1 Actively contribute to Grants team and Jack Petchey Foundation team meetings

5.2 Take a lead on specific projects and undertake other tasks as agreed with Grants Manager

5.3 Provide telephone/email support and advice about our funding streams to existing grantees or potential applicants

Please note these are the normal duties which the charity requires from the position. However, it is necessary for all staff to be flexible, and all employees will be required from time to time to perform other duties as may be required by JPF.

The postholder will be required to work at all times within the policies, procedures and values of the Jack Petchey Foundation, in particular safeguarding, health and safety, and data protection and consent policies.
