About the role

You will be at the forefront of establishing a centrally-located PMO to embed project excellence in a mission-driven environment, operating both strategically and hands on across the King’s Fund. This is a key role responsible for overseeing and managing the delivery and development of our Gateway programme for women.  Alongside the daily management of staff and volunteers, this role is responsible for ensuring that the services provided are safe, best practice and compliant with all relevant policies and procedures.

Main duties:

· Oversight and delivery of all programme activities relating to Gateway including drop ins, one-to-one support, group activities and faith based activities.

About the role

You will be one of two Service Managers and the two postholders work closely together in this varied and complex role. Reporting to the Strategic Lead, you will deputise for them when necessary and will lead on delivering our services, line-managing Team Leaders and designated functions. Your role will be to ensure that the service delivery meets high quality standards, is delivered safely and is contract compliant, with particular focus on managing and delivering external contracts. Overseeing the monitoring and reporting of our work, you will line manage four staff, will have delegated financial responsibility and work closely with partners, commissioners, and other stakeholders in the city to ensure that our services are aligned and impactful.

You will also ensure that we are identifying and addressing the systemic issues at play and which underly clients’ presenting need. This is a key role in linking up Shelter’s national campaigning and policy work with local activity and insight, ensuring that we co-produce our activities and involve people with lived experience fully in our work.

About You

You have sound knowledge of homelessness, housing and related issues, with leadership skills and experiencing of supporting and managing teams. You can demonstrate experience of managing contracts, partnerships or services as well as budgets and are able to develop and sustain key relationships which benefit local priorities. Experienced in change management, you will be able to analyse insight and evidence to manage and improve performance, as well as being able to work with policies relating to safeguarding, health and safety and data protection.

The Events & Fundraising Manager will work at the heart of our public events programme, helping to organise fundraising walks and other events across London and the South East, and raising funds to support the provision of free legal advice. Our events include the London Legal Walk -- an annual event which raises over £1 million each year -- regional Legal Walk events, and other fundraising events such as the Great Legal Quiz and the Great Legal Bake. The Events & Fundraising Manager's principal role is to manage these events and promote our fundraising in support of free legal advice charities in London and the South East. Your main duties and responsibilities will include the following:

Assist the management of Able Child’s brand and external communications, with high quality content.

1. Along with the team, manage Able Child’s social channels, working with external suppliers when applicable, to maintain a professional and engaging external brand.

2. Support the management of a vibrant and responsive website by ensuring content is up to date, professional and engaging; supporting the collection of imagery, videos, case studies and blogs where directed.

Competencies

Experience

1. At least one years’ experience in a fundraising, communications, marketing or sales support role or similar.

2. Experience of managing or supporting the management of events to, ideally including managing volunteers or supporters to raise funds.

3. Experience or knowledge of writing funding applications, ideally with a demonstrable track record of securing funds from Trusts and Foundations.
