The Role

What will I be doing?

You’ll be responsible for a broad range of high‑level Executive Office support activities, including:

• Preparing, coordinating and servicing senior leadership meetings, including drafting clear agendas, collating accurate papers, taking high‑quality minutes and tracking actions with a strong attention to detail.
• Providing high‑quality executive and administrative support to the CEO Office, including complex diary and inbox management, and the drafting, handling and dispatch of correspondence on behalf of the Group CEO with excellent written accuracy and judgment.
• Supporting effective planning, briefing and preparation to ensure the Group CEO is fully equipped for internal and external engagements, with well‑structured briefings and precise, timely documentation.

Projects you may work on include:

• Coordinating national and international travel programmes for the Group CEO, President and senior trustees, producing accurate itineraries and paperwork to ensure effective use of time and seamless stakeholder engagement.
• Supporting the delivery of high‑profile Institute events involving the Group CEO, Executive Team and senior stakeholders, with a strong focus on detail, logistics and written briefings.
• Undertaking short‑term project work and research for the Executive Team, analysing and summarising information clearly and producing briefings, reports or presentations as required.

Who will I work with?

You’ll work closely with a wide range of colleagues and stakeholders, including:

• The CEO Office Operations Manager and Executive Assistant to the Group CEO and President, working collaboratively to ensure the smooth, accurate and professional running of the Executive Office.
• Executive Directors, senior trustees and members of the Leadership Team across the Institute and its subsidiary companies, including IOP Publishing.
• Senior internal and external stakeholders, including equivalent CEO offices in partner organisations, government and learned societies, requiring clear, professional written communication and attention to detail.

Ideally, we hope you’ll apply if you bring:

Essential:

• Proven experience providing high‑level PA or Executive Assistant support in a fast‑paced, complex environment, including diary management, meeting support and high‑quality minute‑taking.
• Excellent written communication skills, with the ability to draft clear, accurate and professional correspondence, briefings and minutes, alongside a consistently high level of attention to detail.
• Strong organisational and prioritisation skills, with the judgment and discretion to handle confidential and sensitive information.
• Advanced IT skills, including confident use of Microsoft 365 applications (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and Excel).

Nice to have:

• Experience supporting senior executives or boards within a charity, professional body, membership organisation or similarly complex environment.
• Experience using CRM systems and maintaining accurate electronic records and contact databases.
• A professional qualification as an Executive Assistant or Personal Assistant (or working towards one).

How will I be working?

We operate a flexible, trust based working model that gives colleagues autonomy over how, when and where they work, while recognising the value of in person collaboration. You will be assigned a base office, with hybrid working offered as standard. This role does however involve regular visits to our head office based on business needs. 

You will engage in regular in person collaboration with your team (as operational appropriate), as well as with colleagues across the wider organisation, to ensure effective operational alignment and to support our inclusive approach to working.

As an organization we meet in person once a quarter at our Head Office in Kings Cross, London.

Prospectus is delighted to be working with the foundation to recruit a Funding Manager for their Creative, Confident Communities (CCC) strategic aim, which focuses on communities connected by ‘place’. Through this programme, they are working towards places where communities can fulfil their creative, human, and economic potential.  

The role:
This role will work within the Creative, Confident Communities Team in making a significant contribution to the delivery of the foundation’s strategy, specifically focused on place-based and community-led change across the UK. The primary aim of this role is to bring grant-making expertise and knowledge to add capacity to the team moving forward.

This is a unique opportunity to work with and support a range of organisations, initiatives and projects that are seeking to create place-based change, working with communities across the UK to achieve this. The foundation has independence, resources and influence that enable them to move at pace and make a positive difference for people and communities in the UK. They have ambition and an appetite for risk, to try new things and work with new and unusual partnerships to deliver their aims. A key question that guides the foundation’s work and action is “what more can we do?” – the foundation is looking for someone to join them and contribute to answering that question.

This will include identifying and building a pipeline of relevant activities aimed at delivering on the aims and objectives of the programme. This is a very relational role with emphasis on building and brokering collaborations, attending webinars, forums and conferences to further harness sector learning relevant to the aims of CCC. 

The role is full-time and candidates looking to work 0.8 full-time will also be considered.  At present, the foundation has a hybrid approach to working and the candidate will work from the Kings Cross office two or three days per week – these will include Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Occasional UK travel will be required, which may include an overnight stay.

The person:
The successful candidate will have substantial grant-making experience and will ideally have gained this within a community driven Funder or Grant-maker in the UK. An environment where the core objectives of the CCC programme are very apparent and the knowledge and understanding is there to bring to the table.

A deep understanding of the challenges faced by communities and places across the UK is essential and having hands-on experience of tackling these issues will be very valuable to this role. Being thoughtful, analytical and inquisitive, the role requires advance problem solving and synthesising sometimes quite complex information and delivering to a wide range of audiences in digestible and concise communication.

Collaboration is key to success in this role and evidence of having worked in close knit and very busy team in connected areas of work will be important in addition to being able to work independently and to manage your own time will be important.

Job Summary
You will have a strong understanding of the UK political system and how to influence it, and will be confident in drafting reports, consultation responses and working with and disseminating data. Ideally, you will have worked within the youth policy or disability policy sector previously and will have strong knowledge of how to influence policy at local and national level (including devolved Governments).

The person

Key accountabilities

• Lead on determining how policy analysis, research and data are translated into campaign strategy, focussing on identified themes from Whizz Kidz beneficiary groups, particularly our Youth Board.
• Lead on external evidence gathering, surveys and data analysis including identifying priority campaign objectives, audiences and influencers, and ensuring campaigning effort is focused where it can have its greatest impact.
• Create a strategy and operational plan to widen our reach (including into devolved nations) including a full stakeholder engagement programme.

Contract: 18 Months Fixed-term contract, Full-time, contingent upon successfully securing project funding, target start date May 2026

Location: The role can be based in London (United Kingdom), Accra (Ghana), Dar es Salaam / Dodoma (Tanzania), Lusaka (Zambia), or Lilongwe (Malawi), subject to right to work eligibility in the respective countries.

About the Team

The role will report into the Project Lead: National Water Compact Delivery Accelerator, located in the Programme Operations Team, one of three support teams within the International Programmes Department of WaterAid UK.

The Programme Operations Team enables the effective management of the International Programmes Department through ensuring IPD Teams have access to robust high quality management policies, systems, process, tools and capabilities that work to support the delivery of programmes, enable the effective management of risk, and ensure strong financial planning and management.

About the Role

The Public and Private Finance Specialist will provide specialist technical leadership on WASH financing strategy, structuring and investor engagement within the National Water Compact Delivery Accelerator.

The role is responsible for ensuring that priority WASH projects are financially credible, appropriately structured and aligned with the requirements of public, concessional and where relevant private finance providers, enabling formal entry into financing appraisal and investment pipelines.

In this role, you will:

1. Financing diagnostics and strategy (Stage 2)

• Lead or contribute to country‑level diagnostics of WASH financing constraints, including budget flows, fiscal space, creditworthiness, and investor risk perceptions.
• Analyse the balance between public, concessional, blended and potential private finance options.

2. Project prioritisation and financing alignment (Stage 3)

• Support the assessment and prioritisation of WASH project concepts against financing institution criteria.
• Advise on project scale, affordability and financial structuring options, with ambition for large‑scale (>$100m) investments where feasible.

3. Project structuring and investment readiness (Stage 4)

Lead financial inputs into full project development, including:

• indicative financing structures.
• proposed sources of finance.
• allocation of financial and non‑financial risks; and
• affordability and sustainability considerations.

4. Engagement with financing institutions (Stages 3–6)

• Support structured engagement with multilateral development banks, DFIs, bilateral financiers and philanthropic funders.
• Interpret and translate financing partner requirements into actionable guidance for government teams.
• Support progression of priority projects into formal concept review, pre‑appraisal or appraisal queues.

5. Public–private interface and blended finance (where relevant)

• Assess the potential role of private finance, guarantees or delegated management models within public‑led WASH investments.
• Advise on risk‑sharing mechanisms, viability support and blending approaches appropriate to country context.

6. Quality assurance, learning and guidance

• Contribute to internal quality assurance of financing diagnostics, project concepts and full project packages.
• Document lessons on WASH financing pathways, including what has and has not proved credible with financing institutions.

Requirements

To be successful, you’ll need:

• Strong professional experience in public sector, development or infrastructure finance, with a focus on WASH or related sectors.
• Demonstrated understanding of MDB, concessional and blended finance processes.
• Experience working with government counterparts on financing strategies or investment preparation, particularly ministries of finance.
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to communicate complex financing issues clearly to non‑finance specialist audiences.
• Although not essential, we’d prefer you to have:
• Direct experience engaging with World Bank Group, AfDB or similar financing institutions.
• Experience of blended finance, guarantees or private capital mobilisation in infrastructure or public services.

• Experience working across multiple countries or fragile financing contexts.

About the team

The Income Generation Directorate at Shelter comprises of the five departments, delivering a mature fundraising programme that has seen continuous year on year diversity and growth. The directorate generates over £48m gross income each year, of which a high percentage is unrestricted.

CONTEXT & PURPOSE OF ROLE

SportsAid is currently implementing Salesforce Nonprofit Cloud as our new organisation-wide CRM platform to strengthen engagement with athletes and their parents/care-givers, supporters and funders, partners, alumni, volunteers and other key stakeholders.  The Head of CRM will provide strategic and operational leadership for the charity’s CRM function.  

Initially the focus of the role will be to realise the value of the implementation, including adoption, embedding ways of working and processes across teams, improving data quality, refining reporting, ensuring good system governance and optimising organisation-wide usage. 

Longer term, the role will develop and lead a CRM roadmap, identifying priorities and enhancements for future development and planning the strategic evolution of our new CRM ecosystem and long-term sustainability of our Salesforce Nonprofit Cloud platform.

You will lead organisational change, embed best practice CRM processes, ensure high-quality data governance and maximise the value of CRM insights to support fundraising, programme delivery, marketing, partnerships and impact reporting.

The Joint Public Issues Team (JPIT) is recruiting to two full time paid internship positions to start in September 2026.

Interns work as part of a small ecumenical team on a diverse range of tasks and initiatives including communications, policy, campaigning and supporter engagement, contributing to the public advocacy and political engagement work of the Baptist, Methodist and United Reformed Churches.

JPIT is a partnership between the Baptist Union of Great Britain, the Methodist Church and the United Reformed Church, and the Church of Scotland is an associate partner. Its purpose is to help the Churches to work together for peace and justice through listening, learning, praying, speaking and acting on public policy issues. It is a team which brings together around ten staff working across the denominations. In recent years it has focused on issues around poverty, the economy, refugees and migration, the environment, peace and conflict, and politics.

These internships provide opportunities to develop skills in campaigning, communications, research, and policy within a dynamic team environment. There will be opportunities for professional and personal learning and development to equip the intern for further employment after their time on the internship.
