We're looking for an LGBTQ+ drug and alcohol recovery worker to jin our Antidote drug and alcohol service.

London Friend’s Antidote service provides high quality drug & alcohol psycho-social treatment and support to LGBTQ+ people utilising harm reduction & abstinence-based methods.  Antidote is a part of London Friend which aims to support and promote health & wellbeing for LGBTQ+ people living in the London area.

We are working in partnership delivering substance misuse treatment and support in the London Boroughs of Westminster; Kensington & Chelsea; and Hammersmith & Fulham. This is led by Turning Point. London Friend is the LGBTQ+ lead for the partnership.

Recovery support workers will provide support to LGBTQ+ people experiencing difficulties with drug or alcohol use, including supporting those engaged in chemsex, and incorporating HIV prevention initiatives and sexual health support. They will hold a caseload of clients and be responsible for their assessment, case planning, review, and ongoing care. They will deliver group programmes and provide outreach to LGBTQ+ people in community settings including local sexual health clinics.

The postholder will be employed by London Friend and work within a multi-agency team based in the Boroughs and local satellite locations including the local Turning Point service several times a week. They will also assist with the delivery of Antidote’s services, including our walk-in clinics and group programmes, with a priority on identifying and supporting residents of the Boroughs.

The post-holder will take an active anti-discriminatory, anti-racism and trans-inclusive approach around all areas of work and will be an active member of both London Friend and the DAWS Partnership and will support with the aims & objectives of both services.

Due to the nature of the work and in order to provide appropriate access for the clients group the role requires regular evening work and occasional weekend working.

Fundraising Officer

We are looking for an experienced Fundraising Officer to join our small and friendly fundraising team. You will support the High Value Partnerships Manager and Community Fundraising Manager, both of which are already well-established income streams with lots of great potential. Purpose of the role

• Reporting to the High Value Partnerships Manager you will provide support across our two priority Fundraising streams – Community Fundraising (Community, Events and Individual/Regular Giving) and High Value Partnerships (Trusts, Grants, Corporate and Sponsorship).
• Conducting prospect research (Corporate and Trusts/Grants) creating a pipeline of targeted opportunities, and submitting applications for lower level funding
• Providing excellent relationship management to those in our community who fundraise for us, whether that’s as a Regular Giver or Marathon runner
• Providing support to the Manager planning Fundraising Events, recruiting participants, attending and cheering on our fundraisers and thanking our supporters

We have an exciting opportunity for a Road Collision Caseworker to join the Dyfed Powys Victim Support team. You will be working 30 hours per week over 4 days and will need to live within the Dyfed Powys area. Our Community Crisis Cafes offer a safe, welcoming and non-judgmental environment outside of normal working hours for those who feel in mental distress or crisis.

About the Role

This will involve working with service users in a preventative way, assessing needs, deescalating crisis, offering coping strategies, signposting to other services and ensuring they feel supported, through the process of improving their mental health and wellbeing.

Staff will work with a team of Crisis Recovery Workers & volunteers and will, at times, involve working out of the MK Hospital, at Eaglestone Centre, alongside the CNWL NHS team manning 111 option 2 calls and managing referrals.

Service Delivery

• Deliver crisis focussed 1:1s and ensure outcomes which supports individuals experiencing a mental health crisis in Houghton Regis & Central Bedfordshire, in line with Mind BLMK’s agreed crisis service and requirements as well as contract requirements.
• Assessing need and suitability for the service in line with the access to services process, and undertaking 1:1s.
• Contribute to maintaining an effective volunteer workforce for the service in line with Mind BLMK’s HR policies, procedures and guidance (workload planning and support).
• Carry out Cash Handling, Health and Safety and Data Collection responsibilities as directed by the Team Leader in line with Mind BLMK’s policies, procedures, requirements and guidance.

We currently have an opportunity for an Independent Domestic Violence Advocate to join the team in London. This role is full time working 37.5 hours per week and is a hybrid role working from home, our London Office and St. George's Hospital.

JOB TITLE: Public Affairs Manager

REPORTS TO: Head of Social Impact

RESPONSIBLE FOR: n/a

LOCATION: Hybrid of London office and home based.  ParalympicsGB Office: 101 New Cavendish Street, W1W 6XH. Travel may also be required in the UK and abroad as necessary.

JOB PURPOSE: The Public Affairs Manager will manage the implementation of ParalympicsGB’s policy & public affairs strategy, including managing a targeted contact programme with politicians, civil servants and stakeholder organisations. The role will also play a key role in supporting the organisation’s approach to influencing public policy in sport, disability and education and deliver Games’ time guest programmes.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Public Affairs and Stakeholder Engagement

• Manage the implementation of the public affairs strategy, with support from the Head of Social Impact and Director of Communications & Social Impact, reporting back to the Senior Leadership Group on the outcomes achieved.
• Work with the CEO, Director of Communications & Social Impact and Head of Social Impact to implement a stakeholder engagement plan building and maintaining relationships with key stakeholder such as politicians, Government departments, ParalympicsGB’s members, sport and disability organisations, and the education sector.
• Coordinate ParalympicsGB colleagues to execute a contact programme with relevant stakeholders including Government Ministers, MPs and Peers, Civil Servants and Stakeholder organisations from ParalympicsGB’s membership and the wider sport, education and disability sectors.
• Monitor and analyse upcoming relevant policy and legislative developments and activities and identify opportunities for influence including drafting responses to parliamentary, government and other consultations.
• Represent ParalympicsGB externally to raise awareness and strengthen our reputation with key policy makers, decision-makers, and relevant public affairs networks. Reporting back to colleagues on the content of meetings and arranging follow-ups as appropriate.
• Prepare high-quality briefing materials for political audiences and senior internal stakeholders to support influencing priorities.
• Organise and support delivery of a series of Westminster based events and activations to support our Public Affairs strategy, including events to raise awareness of ParalympicsGB’s relevant social impact programmes e.g. Equal Play and Community Sport initiatives.

Social Impact

• Work with the Social Impact team on communicating public affairs opportunities to our athletes (as part of the ParalympicsGB Athlete Community) and connecting social impact programmes to political opportunities.

Correspondence, Planning and Databases

• Draft correspondence with key contacts on behalf of the organisation.
• Develop and manage parliamentary and stakeholder contact management database.
• Provide administrative support to the Communications team as required.

Responsibilities

About the role: 

• Lead on the coordination and delivery of the service’s prevention, early intervention, targeted education offers, and youth settings.
• To increase visibility and accessibility of the service amongst children, young people, families, and partners with the aim of increasing referrals into service for specialist support.
• Identifying and responding effectively to potential safeguarding issues.
• Reducing drug and alcohol related harm to service users and the wider community.
• Promoting carer, service user and community involvement.
• To be responsible for proactively generating and increasing referrals from relevant partners including utilising data to target specific services/provisions.
• To develop and deliver training programmes aimed at creating awareness of the service alongside delivering early intervention key messages to professionals.
• To analyse and scrutinise data to identify gaps in areas where the service can take a proactive approach to engagement.
• To create presentations that will engage young people, using harm reduction and psychoeducation.

About you: 

• You have experience working with young people, with knowledge of the issues they face.
• Knowledge of safeguarding concerns and guidelines in relation to children and young people and the Fraser Competence framework.
• You have a good understanding of drug and alcohol issues and be able to speak about this publicly. 
• Knowledge of working with evidence-based practice around young people’s substance misuse treatment services and methods.
• Confident and strong communication skills; verbal and written.
• You can accurately plan workshops and come up with new presenting ideas
• Ability to work towards and meet deadlines.

The Snowdrop Project is the first organisation in the UK to provide long-term, community based support to survivors of modern slavery and exploitation. About you

As our Senior Campaigns & Public Affairs Manager, we’d like you to have an in-depth understanding of the ways in which UK public policies are formed and reformed, of the challenges associated with delivering policy in the real world and of how civil society organisations like JRF can successfully influence policy change.

You will have an understanding of the structural nature of poverty and how policy may alleviate structural harms and substantial experience of working at progressively senior levels at the intersection of policy development, politics and strategic communications/ campaigns. 

You’ll have substantial experience of working in multidisciplinary teams using a range of insider and outsider tactics and compelling examples of developing and implementing influencing strategies that have demonstrably affected the climate of opinion around an issue and ideally, achieved concrete change.

With a proven track record of successfully building relationships with decision makers and influencing their thinking, you’ll have clear examples of writing effectively for a wide range of audiences and of commissioning, understanding and using public attitudinal insights to inform your influencing strategies and/or narrative development.
