About the job

The role of Families Project Worker involves supporting a caseload of families living in temporary accommodation. The role requires a combination of specialist knowledge and excellent relationship building skills to support residents with varying degrees of mental health and trauma related issues to engage with appropriate support, improve their experience of temporary accommodation and to access suitable housing solutions.

The role is dependent on excellent communication and joint working with colleagues and a variety of partners and professionals; including the NHS, Probation Service, local council services and other third sector organisations.

The role requires a high degree of motivation to support complex and vulnerable people, often in a lone-working situation. With a passion to work collaboratively with others for the good of our service users, and with some experience of working in a related field in a voluntary or paid capacity.

A high degree of emotional intelligence is required to support service users, many of whom have complex emotional needs, with backgrounds of trauma, neglect, abuse, crime and low self-worth. A role of this nature will experience a range of emotions from joy to grief and as such requires a high degree of resilience to cope with the emotional demands of the role.

Making decisions, “in the moment” to do the right thing to mitigate risk with service users can place high emotional demands on the job holder. The role is highly reactive, unpredictable and at times, chaotic. The role therefore requires a high degree of self-awareness to one’s own resilience levels and exercising appropriate levels of self-care.

Their stay isn’t temporary, they are likely to be suffering with deteriorating mental and physical health, becoming victims of crime, losing control of their life and even dying prematurely. Justlife delivers impactful services in Greater Manchester and Brighton & Hove, supporting and empowering people experiencing homelessness in temporary accommodation. We also drive positive system change across the national temporary accommodation sector, convening those with a common interest; people with lived experience, landlords, charities, local and national government, and carrying out research and gathering insights.

Service Delivery

• Deliver interventions and support for families in a warm, caring and flexible way, including:
  • Supporting them to engage with support services to improve and maintain their physical and mental wellbeing.
  • Assisting them in addressing housing, financial or wellbeing needs.
  • Accompanying them to appointments.
  • Connecting them with appropriate support services such as substance misuse services or food banks.
  • Collaborating with agencies such as the local authority, housing providers and support services to deliver an effective service
  • Maintaining regular contact and a listening ear for the client.

• Liaise with local partners to improve collaborative working

We're looking for a compassionate and resilient Support Worker to join our Mental Health Service located in Newham. No personal care or experience required, just the right values.

£30,784.00 per annum, working 40 hours per week.

IBIS House provides short term accommodation for people who are medically fit for discharge following a mental health inpatient stay, or who would otherwise not require hospital admission but face other barriers that prevent them from safely returning to the community. These may include housing, living skills, accessing benefits or the community, or other interventions and will be on a person-centred basis. The main aim of the service is to provide short-term support to customers to link with longer-term services to reduce escalations in need and reduce inpatient readmission and reduce pressure on inpatient beds.

• Assessing referrals received by the service, within the 4-hour target, and providing rapid response to these. Ensuring all void flats are turn around within 4-24hrs

You will be part of the MYcommunity Linkworkers team. You’ll be responsible for:

• Provide personalised brief intervention and social prescribing support to individuals, their families and carers.

• Meet clients on a one-to-one basis, making home visits where appropriate and allowing clients the time and space to discuss ‘what matters to me’.

• Provide person-centred support to enable clients to identify their health and wellbeing needs and goals. Co-produce support plans with clients to discuss what’s important, where they would like to be in the future and how we can support them to achieve this. 

• Manage and prioritise a caseload to ensure clients' needs, priorities and urgent support are met.

• MYcommunity Lambeth works in partnership with a large number of statutory and community services and organisations across the borough. You will link clients with appropriate services to meet their needs. It is vital to have a strong understanding of when it is necessary to refer someone back to health care professionals/ agencies when the client’s needs are beyond the scope of the MYcommunity team.

Join us at Single Homeless Project (SHP) as part of our Lewisham Vulnerable Adults Accommodation Service (LVAAS), delivering accommodation-based support across our properties in Brockley and New Cross. This is hands-on, day-to-day work alongside people experiencing homelessness and multiple disadvantage, where no two days are the same. Cranstoun is an independent charity and leading provider of specialist treatment, harm reduction and recovery services to those affected by drug and alcohol use. This is an exciting opportunity to become a Key Worker within our high performing psychosocial drug and alcohol service in HMP Birmingham. 

We provide a range of services for those affected by drugs and alcohol. Our skilled and compassionate team work closely with people who use our services to change and save lives. We combine proven expertise in treatment and recovery with innovative approaches and actively involve those we help in improving the design of the services we provide. 

You will be based in our psychosocial team working with adult males (over 18 years old). You will be responsible for delivering a range of elements of our substance use work including case management, assessments, care planning, the delivery of one-to-one interventions to include harm reduction and motivational work, group work, and engagement support as well as other associated duties. You need to be committed to supporting people who use our services to make positive changes to prepare them for release into the community, and you will arrange continuity of care. You will work in collaboration with the clinical team and integrated working is a key element of this role. You will work within the prison setting and contribute towards the wider prison drug strategy.

Having experience of supporting people with complex health needs including substance use, you will bring knowledge and commitment to deliver drug and alcohol treatment. You will have a non-judgemental attitude and a desire to support the lives of people who use our services to be healthier and safer by delivering a high-quality service. 

Experience of working with drug and alcohol use is essential. You will be a competent communicator, with the ability to work independently and be comfortable and enthusiastic, both with the highlighted client group and working in partnership with other service providers. Previous experience or knowledge of working with individuals on opiate replacement treatment, and/or involved in the criminal justice system will be advantageous.

We are looking a Project Worker to join our Hammersmith & Fulham Supported Accommodation Pathway, supporting adults with a range of needs who are preparing for more independent living.

In the role of Project Worker, you will support clients on their journey toward increased independence. You will manage a caseload of residents, helping them develop the skills and confidence required to move on to appropriate longer‑term or independent accommodation. The role focuses on empowering residents to build on their strengths, develop practical life skills, and maintain independence in the community.

Working in this role, your key responsibilities will be to:

• Work with clients to identify their personal aims and ambitions and work towards achieving them.
• Provide practical and personal support to clients in an approachable, caring and person-centred way.
• Work as part of a dedicated team to provide safe, high quality, positive and inclusive service to clients.
• Complete administrative records relating to client work, housing management and health and safety.

Location: This role is based in Catford. The service is a short walk from Catford Station. The area is also served by multiple bus routes, including 75, 47, 136, 185, offering direct local and regional connections for staff commuting to the service. We're hiring a Engagement Worker to join our team based in within a Men’s Housing Accommodation Support Service (HASS) residential service in the Catford area. The project provides 6-bed supported accommodation for men with complex needs, including mental health challenges, offending histories, trauma, homelessness, and social exclusion. The service operates within a psychologically informed environment (PIE) and is delivered by a mixed-gender staff team, working closely together to provide consistent, relational support.

You will support within the Offender Personality Disorder Housing Accommodation to support in successfully rehabilitating and reintegrating our residents back into the community. The service delivers support for people in the criminal justice system who are deemed high risk, and likely to meet criteria for personality disorder. Penrose OPD HASS service offers specialist accommodation to people with high risk/high needs and require intensive support to overcome barriers to resettlement and progress towards independent living in the community. You will assist with those who have recently been released from prison, secure health settings, or are transitioning from Approved Premises. Your work will be guided by co-produced support plans, developed in partnership with each individual to reflect their goals and circumstances.

Key Responsibilities Include:

• Support residents who may be facing challenges with substance misuse, helping them take positive steps forward.
• Creating one to one person centred support plans to support residents in achieving their goals; Supporting individuals to progress from crisis through to independent living.
• Ensuring the safety and wellbeing of residents at all times during the shift, including regular check ins and carrying our protocols.

• Providing housing related support, supporting tenancy sustainment and successful resettlement.

• Planning activities to engage residents with other people, communities, and opportunities during the evening which may include movie nights and games nights.
• Working collaboratively with external professionals, including probation, housing, and mental health services.
• Maintaining accurate records to support effective risk management, including risk assessments and case notes.
• Support risk management, safeguarding, and structured support planning
• Lone working is part of the role, but you’ll always have a supportive team around.
• Be a valued and reliable member of the team, completing handovers for day colleagues for a seamless service.

Shift Pattern: 37.5 per week on a pro rota between Monday to Sunday on a rota between 08:30 - 21:00. Shift patterns and weekly hours may vary dependent on service and resident requirements. You may be required to work Bank Holidays.

About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Community Mental Health Recovery Worker to join our team based in Catford. Penrose Jigsaw Service is a forensic mental health service and work in partnership with South London and Maudsley NHS Trust (SLaM).  You will empower and motivate both our male and female residents and participants to achieve their personal goals and gain greater independence, supporting their reintegration into the community. You will provide tailored, person-centred support using a recovery model, ensuring our services are flexible and responsive to individual needs while meeting the expectations of our commissioners and stakeholders.

Your focus is on successful community reintegration and a sustained quality of life, guided by a recovery model that enables clients to live, work, learn, and participate fully in their communities through interactive and preventative approaches. We provide supported accommodation within a forensic step-down service, delivering residential and community-based support. We provide intensive accommodation-based support (six flats) and floating support (dispersed flats) designed to address the complex and challenging needs of our residents and participants. Support includes medication support, supervision, and regular health and safety checks, tailored to meet the complex and challenging needs of our residents and participants.
