About the role
We’re looking for an Economics and Research Analyst to join the Work Action Area team. The mission of this team is to ensure equitable access to work and a good transition to later life. This role will play a key part in ensuring the policy influencing work of the team is supported by strong analysis and evidence.
They will join a friendly and supportive team who are achieving impact at the highest levels of Government, and across the country. They will work to understand what changes we need, and to influencing those in power to make those changes. And they will have the opportunity to develop into an expert on one of the key policy challenges of our times.
About you
You are a strong quantitative and economics researcher, with a keen interest in and understanding of policy and the labour market. You are able to absorb complex research and policy information quickly and synthesise it into clear and concise summaries for a range of audiences. You have strong research skills including understanding of Stata or R, experience of conducting literature reviews and delivering descriptive analyses of data.
You will enjoy working independently but be confident working as part of a busy policy and research team, juggling competing priorities and working to tight deadlines. You will have a knowledge of the key policy issues related to an ageing population or a willingness to become a specialist in this area.

About the role
The Senior Advice Worker – SEND will be the specialist and subject expert in Special Educational Needs and Disabilities and kinship care. You’ll provide 1:1 advice directly to kinship carers on all issues that impact on their caring role.
You will often be supporting kinship carers in high crisis. It will be part of your job to calm a situation quickly and support people to communicate what they need so you can provide personalised in-depth advice.
You’ll provide advice by phone, video calls and email, but you’ll also need to be able to respond to text, WhatsApp and online chat and other channels as we develop the service.
You’ll specialise in providing advice and information to enable kinship carers to support children with SEND needs, including speech, language and communication difficulties, social, emotional and mental health challenges, specific learning difficulties, and autism.
This will include advice and casework to support kinship carers to navigate the education system, understand Education, Health and Care Plan processes and access support from schools, children’s services and CAMHS.
As subject expert, you’ll provide expert input to the development of written information and resources and the development and delivery of specialist training for kinship carers.
Key responsibilities include:
- Respond to enquiries through a range of incoming channels. This includes taking calls on our advice line, as well as responding to enquiries submitted through our website, via internal referral or other channels.
- Provide high quality advice and information to kinship carers on their rights, entitlements and responsibilities in relation to welfare benefits, local authority allowances, support from children’s services, relevant legal orders, sources of educational, parenting and legal support and other issues that may be required.
- Assess vulnerability and risk to prioritise and respond to kinship carers’ issues in a timely manner.
- Research individual cases and identify possible courses of action.
- Address all safeguarding concerns in line with policy.
- Facilitate access to our advice service for people with diverse needs, e.g. by using appropriate translation services or assistive technology.
- Adapt communication style to respond appropriately to differing needs.
- Provide advice in a format that is manageable and understandable for the individual kinship carer.
- Apply agreed Kinship models of practice as appropriate, e.g. taking a trauma-informed approach.
- Provide specialist advice and casework on SEND-related issues. This may involve:
- providing additional advice or support to enable a client to take action
- undertaking follow-up action on behalf of the client to move the case on, e.g. negotiating with third parties
- taking on complex casework to pursue significant outcomes for the client or strategic impact for all kinship carers

Proactively update colleagues across Kinship on relevant updates in the SEND landscape, providing guidance to teams.

Work closely with training colleagues to develop, create and occasionally lead training sessions to support kinship carers to navigate the SEND system.
Essential requirements include:

Minimum of 2 years’ recent experience of delivering in-depth advice work on complex social welfare legal issues (e.g. benefits, housing, education or social care) to members of the public.

Experience of giving both telephone and written advice.

Either significant knowledge of and expertise in the SEND system and SEND-related issues, with the ability to develop expertise in kinship care advice; or, Significant knowledge of and expertise in kinship care advice, with substantial knowledge of SEND-related advice issues and the ability to become an expert in SEND advice for kinship carers.

About You and the Role
Joining a specialised team at a time of growth, the Expeditions Officer will deploy first-hand exploratory field research experience in providing practical support for practitioners, helping reinforce the Society’s role as an international leader and convening power representing diverse forms of geographical exploration.
This operational role is central to evolving the Society's technical resources, strategic programmes, and flagship events, ensuring our support for both our grant recipients and the wider community of practitioners remains rigorous and impactful.
Key Responsibilities
Expedition advisory support
Participate in the provision of advice and support to Society grant recipients and other expedition teams and individuals across their project lifecycles.
Training, events and content
Work with colleagues and external trainers to develop and organise needs-based training opportunities, primarily for Society grant recipients and other supported individuals and teams, across a range of subjects.
Support the development of multimedia resources to support Society members and the wider community of field practitioners in undertaking safe, ethical, impactful expeditions.
Governance and reporting
Contribute data and updates for the bi-annual reporting to the Expeditions & Fieldwork Committee and quarterly workplan reporting to management and trustees.
The successful candidate will have demonstrable experience leading successful exploratory field projects, preferably through overseas, collaborative, impact-driven ventures in remote and challenging contexts.
The successful candidate will apply both academic knowledge and a practical understanding of safe, ethical and impactful field research, significantly expanding the Society’s capacity to support diverse forms of geographical exploration.
Salary and Benefits
This is a permanent, full-time post subject to successful completion of a probationary period of three months. The salary range for this post is £35,897–£39,180 per annum depending on experience and qualifications. The post is based in Kensington, London.

We are recruiting for Events Fundraising Officers to join our ambitious Third Party and Organise your Own (OYO) Events team.
As Events Fundraising Officer (Third Party & OYO) you’ll support the growth, development, and delivery of our Third Party Events portfolio. You will lead on a varied portfolio of events such as the London Marathon, Manchester Marathon or selected events within the AJ Bell Great Run Series.” And “(travel expenses paid for by the Society and you will be entitled to claim TOIL).
You’ll work across multiple events to help us to give our participants and supporters the best possible events experience. This will enable us to build lasting connections with our cause and contribute to the £12million our team is projected to raise this financial year, with the wider Events team set to raise £22million. This is a rewarding role which helps to raise vital funds to support the lives of people affected by dementia.
These roles are all home-based, however you will be asked to travel and attend events in-person and occasionally across weekends throughout the year (travel expenses paid for by the Society).

Communications Assistant

The Communications Assistant will provide hands-on support to the Communications Manager in the ideation, creation and delivery of our regular external communications. This includes helping to grow our social media following, creating and scheduling content, sourcing and designing images, providing copywriting support, and responding to comments across our channels. Philanthropy & Alumni Engagement (P&A) provides a fundraising and alumni engagement function in support of King’s College London. We are proud to work with colleagues across the university and its health partners to help them serve society through world-leading education, research and healthcare. Our work also includes a partnership with the Maudsley Charity in support of children’s mental health initiatives between the university’s Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology and Neuroscience and the South London & Maudsley NHS Trust.

About the role
This role will shape how King’s builds trust, celebrates generosity, and strengthens long term donor relationships. The Donor Relations Manager (maternity cover) will lead the creation and delivery of high quality stewardship for some of the university’s most impactful supporters.
Reporting into the Head of Donor Relations, the role oversees the project management of more than 120 bespoke donor reports each year - compelling, insight rich updates that show donors the real difference their gift has made across King’s, from pioneering research into personalised cancer treatments and young people’s mental health to innovative programmes in AI and Law and sustainability. Working closely with fundraisers and our Advancement Writing team, the post-holder will ensure every report is delivered on time, to an exceptional standard, and with opportunities to introduce more personalised, creative stewardship along the way.
The post holder will partner with fundraisers to design tailored stewardship plans for major and principal gift donors, including those giving £5m+. This includes impact reporting, naming and recognition, and bespoke engagement projects that help donors feel valued, connected, and confident in their support of King’s.
Strong project management skills, excellent writing and organisational abilities, a sharp eye for detail, and the ability to juggle deadlines with confidence and initiative are key to this role, as are creativity, curiosity, and a passion for crafting meaningful donor experiences.
This is a full-time post (35 Hours per week) and is a fixed term contract for the year of maternity cover. P&A has a hybrid working approach, with a minimum of 40% of time in the office. Typically, this equates to two days per week, but we’re very happy for colleagues to be in more frequently if they so wish.
About You
To be successful in this role, we are looking for candidates with the following skills and experience:
Essential criteria
· Understanding of one or more of: UK Charity sector/Higher Education and donor relations/stewardship
· Project management skills and strong editorial, copy writing and proof-reading skills
· Insight driven – ability to think about what is and isn’t working, see new innovations in the sector and take on feedback from fundraising colleagues and our donor community
· Ability to meet deadlines, work well under pressure and deliver projects to budget
· Strong relationship management and people focused skills with proven experience in collaboration across teams to achieve shared goals
Desirable criteria
· Adobe InDesign software experience
· Experience of using Microsoft Dynamics or similar customer/donor data base and associated processes and systems
