The Role

What will I be doing?

You’ll be responsible for a range of activities, including:

• Designing, commissioning, and delivering the IOP’s public engagement strategy
• Reaching diverse public audiences across the UK and Ireland, strengthening public understanding and appreciation of physics through strategic, impactful, and inclusive engagement activities
• Leading a team to deliver high quality and high impact programmes and projects
• Leading fundraising to support the IOP's public engagement and public dialogue work

Projects you may work on include:

• Overseeing the IOP’s UK and Ireland public engagement and dialogue programme, ensuring activities align with societal challenges and/or physics themes (e.g., climate change, health)
• The IOP’s Limit Less initiative which aims to break down barriers that can put off young people from underrepresented backgrounds from pursuing physics
• Administering the IOP’s Public Engagement Grants Scheme (PEGS)

Who will I work with?

You’ll work closely with a range of colleagues and stakeholders, including:

• Multiple IOP teams, including EDI, policy and public affairs, communications and marketing, membership and national teams
• The IOP's Business Development Group to help shape the IOP's overall approach to fundraising

• Equipping members with the tools and resources to engage the public effectively through a member-led approach to public engagement
• Working in partnership with organisations in and beyond STEM

Ideally, we hope you’ll apply if you bring:

Essential:

• A track record of designing and delivering high quality and wide-reaching public engagement in partnership with other organisations and with a track record of reaching different public audiences (ideally within a membership organisation)
• Experience of managing high performing teams and collaborating with peers
• Experience with and in depth understanding of audience research and acting on it to ensure diversity of reach
• Experience of budgeting and performance management of programmes

Nice to have:

• Experience of identifying risks associated with projects and activities and implementing effective mitigation plans
• Skilled in overseeing multiple projects and ensuring quality assurance through evaluation and monitoring processes
• Experience in influencing decision-making at senior levels and providing strategic advice based on sound analysis and judgment

Background and Contract

This is a role that promises good growth potential, with the chance to work across multiple geographies. The position of Junior Impact Analyst, at Bridges Outcomes, will support education projects funded by Sustainable Development Goals Outcomes Fund (SDG OF).

Reporting to the Operational lead, the primary focus of this position will be the successful delivery of the Sierra Leone Early Childhood Education (SLECE), the Rwanda Early Childhood, and South African Early Childhood initiatives. However, we also anticipate this role to support our work in the Ghana Education Outcomes Programme (GEOP), leveraging overlapping themes and collaborative opportunities across these impactful projects.

Sierra Leone Early Childhood Education (SL ECE) 

A national initiative focused on expanding safe community‑based centres, improving access and attendance, strengthening structural and process quality, and enhancing holistic child development outcomes. Rwanda Early Childhood Education Programme 

Launched in 2026, this four‑year programme focuses on strengthening early childhood development outcomes through evidence‑driven delivery and performance management.

South Africa Early Childhood Programme 

Initiated in 2026, this three‑year programme supports improvements in early learning quality and access through partnerships with national and international NGOs.

Ghana Education Outcomes Programme (GEOP) 

 Supporting the government’s GALOP strategy through outcomes‑based delivery across rural districts and major urban centres. The programme includes an Accelerated Learning Programme for out‑of‑school children and a Mainstream School Improvement Programme. Implementation runs from 2023 to 2026.

Role Purpose

The Junior Impact Analyst will be accountable for:

· Providing hands‑on Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL) guidance to in‑country delivery partners (national and international NGOs), ensuring practical, context‑appropriate monitoring systems that drive performance improvement.

· Collate and update volumetric and programme data and systems, continually developing and refining data collection processes.

· Ensure compliance with data protection legislations when retaining and sharing information.

Impact Presentation

· Deliver consistent, aggregated representations of project performance against targets, ensuring clear and compelling presentations.

· Partner closely with the Programme Director and Manager to create and deliver engaging and accurate programme outcome presentations.

· Tailor communication to suit varied audiences, including formal presentations for high-level stakeholders.

Relationship Management

· Collaborate with Analyst colleagues to streamline data processes, minimizing manual interventions where possible.

· Build strong working relationships with in‑country CSO teams, providing supportive, capacity‑building engagement that strengthens MEL practice and operational delivery

· Work collaboratively with finance and investment teams to monitor programme invoicing and maintain awareness of the intersection between outcome achievement and the financial status of the project.

· Actively contribute to stakeholder meetings and forums, demonstrating focus and attentiveness to discussions

· Support the Operations Lead and Senior Impact Analyst in ensuring delivery partners meet commissioner compliance requirements, including documentation, evidence standards, and reporting timelines.

There are two parts to the Primary Science Mentor role. The majority of the role will focus on strengthening primary science teaching and leadership by leading our third Priority Areas initiative in North-West England. About the Role

We are seeking a Partnerships Building and Outreach Coordinator to strengthen Maya Centre’s connections and develop partnerships with specialist, community, and statutory organisations. The role focuses on building effective referral pathways so women and girls from underrepresented communities can access timely, holistic support. You will also deliver targeted outreach and provide time-limited support to help women access essential services, while working collaboratively to strengthen a more joined-up system across the VAWG and mental health sectors.
