We are a local, independent charity based on the Wirral, supporting people living with dementia, their carers, and former carers by providing community-based activities and day trips. About the role
As our lead fundraiser, you will help us develop and deliver a practical fundraising plan to support the charity’s continued growth.  Essential

We are opening a new detox centre and are looking for Support Workers to provide safe, compassionate, and practical support to individuals undergoing detoxification in a structured, trauma-informed environment.

The Opportunity:

This is a dual-remit role combining ownership of our office environment with high quality support to our Core group.  The Core group is the c.40-person team that brings together the firm’s central support services

The successful candidate will be the person who keeps our single-floor, c.60-desk open plan office running smoothly day-to-day, and who provides reliable ‘EA-type’ support to the CFOO and the heads of the Core group’s sub-teams.  The role is fundamentally service-orientated: you will be the first person colleagues and visitors turn to, and your standards will set the tone for how the Core group serves the organisation.

This is a varied, high-trust role for someone who wants to be the person that makes things work and who has a desire to provide service that delights. It is a fully on-site role based at our Old Street office, five days a week – and that’s by design. As the person responsible for our workplace experience, your presence is what makes the difference. What you will do:

Office Management

• Act as the day-to-day owner of our leased office floor, ensuring it is safe, welcoming, well-presented and fully operational at all times.

• Manage the relationship with the landlord and building management on all matters relating to the premises, including access, maintenance, repairs and building-wide communications.

• Manage relationships with our sub-lease tenants.

Main duties and responsibilities

Manage the DUK project portfolio

• Become a subject matter expert in applied and translational research in DMD, allowing informed decision making and effective communication with key stakeholders
• Support identification of new project and collaborative opportunities, including the ongoing management and delivery of our applicant-led funding call
• Support the Director of Research and Development in project scientific review, working with the Scientific Advisory Board, Patient Advisory Board, Senior Leadership Team and DUK Board of Trustees
• Manage project development and initiation, including contracting, the development of detailed project plans, including go/no-go milestones, and budgets
• Manage and oversee project delivery, including monitoring of progress, according to agreed timelines and deliverables (including written updates and formal reports), and managing project finances, including reviewing and approval of invoices and monitoring project expenditure
• Support research budget forecasting in liaison with the finance team and the Director of Research and Development, and ensure compliance across the project portfolio
• Build and manage relationships with external partners and maintain regular communication through the project life cycle

Responsibilities

As the Digital Communications and Fundraising Officer, you will play a key role in raising the charity's profile and awareness of primary and secondary immunodeficiency, growing supporter engagement, and generating income to support our work.

• You’ll develop and implement a digital communications strategy
• You’ll create and publish content across our website, email, social media and digital publications
• You’ll manage the website, ensuring content is accurate, accessible and up to date
• You’ll produce multimedia content — graphics, video, photography and case studies
• You’ll manage our social media accounts and our monthly newsletter
• You’ll plan and deliver digital fundraising campaigns
• You’ll create fundraising appeals, supporter communications and impact reports
• You’ll gather and share impact stories using a storytelling approach

This job is for you if:

• You’re confident in managing social media and creating digital content
•  Are familiar with email marketing platforms, customer relationship management (CRM) systems and                WordPress
• Have experience in planning and delivering fundraising or marketing campaigns
• Have strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities independently

Charity or non-profit experience is a plus, as are graphic design or video editing skills.
