About the Role
As an Independent Victim Advocate you will be ensuring the provision of individual structured, tailored support plans, based on a holistic assessment of impact and risk, within the framework of VS's Service Model. You may make initial contact with victims of crime, explaining our services and assessing the impact of crime, or receive referrals from colleagues, in order to provide on-going support and case management.
You will develop, deliver and monitor safety and support plans for those affected by crime, who accept ongoing support. Support will include providing resources, interventions, and information to all service users. In order to:
You will directly support service users, who may be affected by all types of crime. You may work within a specialist area, for example concentrating on one crime type, or a certain demographic of victims.

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Caseworker to join our Domestic Abuse team based at our office in Southampton. This role is fully office based and regular travel throughout Hampshire will be required.

Role Context
Recovery in Community is a collaborative initiative delivered in partnership between Gaddum and Manchester Mind. The service supports people to leave inpatient mental health settings and return to their community with the support they need to recover and remain well.
As a team, we deliver psycho-social interventions, advocacy, housing and welfare rights advice, peer support to adults as well as tailored support to young people (those under the age of 25).All we do is underpinned by listening and ensuring people feel heard – because we know that when people are listened to, they recover. The team works with colleagues within the mental health, primary care, inpatient and community sectors.
Role Purpose
As a Peer Support Worker, you will have lived or living experience of receiving mental health care or treatment in hospital. Using your expertise gained through this experience, you will support peers in their mental health recovery who are ready to leave hospital or are already in the community. Receiving support from your colleagues, you’ll develop and manage your casework practice and hold a small case load.

Shortlisted candidates will be invited to a 40 minute online interview with Zoë, Programme Manager, and Sajni, Partnerships and Development Manager, between 28-29 September.
The final stage will involve a task and in-person interview with Felicity, CEO, and Zoë at our offices on 12 October. If you get to this stage, you’ll be reimbursed for your time.
An offer will be made subject to referencing and satisfactory completion of an Enhanced DBS check. The successful candidate will start as soon as possible - ideally in mid-November - dependent on any notice periods in their existing role.
