The Development Office at Oundle School is looking for Deputy Director of Development who will be instrumental in advancing our philanthropic goals and will support the management and running of its driven and friendly team.

THE ROLE

The Deputy Director of Development will play a key part in helping us achieve our philanthropic goals. This role provides a real opportunity to make a tangible difference: devising and shaping strategy, driving forward our stewardship and legacies programme, building key relationships with major donors, and working closely with the Director of Development on the next advances in this vital area of the school’s work.

This is an exciting opportunity for a dynamic relationship manager who is highly motivated, creative, and intellectually curious, with experience of working within a fundraising or relatable field. We are looking for a dedicated colleague who will enjoy working across a vibrant constituency within a beautiful architectural setting to deepen philanthropic relationships between the school and its alumni and parent body.

While this role is 40 hours per week, year round, we are open to discussion about working arrangements including hybrid working to attract a candidate who can help us achieve our ambitions.

THE SCHOOL

Oundle and Laxton Junior Schools have long been associated with the very best of modern independent education, especially boarding. The Schools take seriously their responsibility to pupils so that they can emerge as decent, open-minded adults; ambitious about what they can go on to achieve and contribute. Over 1400 pupils are on roll at the School, of whom 840 are full boarders. Academic results are steadfastly excellent.

Operational Performance & Growth

• Partner with operational teams to improve performance, efficiency and financial sustainability.

• Contribute to revenue growth, including development of commercial opportunities and private income streams.

Governance, Risk & Compliance

• Act as Company Secretary, ensuring statutory and regulatory compliance.
• Strengthen organisational governance and risk management, including maintenance of risk registers.
• Ensure compliance with data protection, information governance and financial regulations.

Corporate Services Leadership

• Manage the People Support Lead, providing line management and oversight, while working collaboratively to ensure HR compliance, develop people strategy, and coordinate on key operational matters including payroll and budgets.
• Lead IT oversight and the outsourced IT function, ensuring systems are maintained and improved.
• Oversee facilities management and represent WECHI as a Director for Hide Market Management.

Director of Fundraising and Development (Maternity cover)

Magic Breakfast’s mission is to end child morning hunger in the UK now and for good. JOB PURPOSE
The Director of Fundraising and Development (Maternity Cover) will provide strategic leadership and direction across all fundraising and income-generating activities, ensuring the charity continues to deliver against its financial objectives and accelerates long-term, sustainable growth across our philanthropic, public, and commercial income streams.
You will bring strong communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills to equip, support, and empower the team through a period of organisational change. You will help the team optimise and make the most of the new organisational strategy, embedding strategic focus, effective decision-making, and collaborative leadership practices across the fundraising leadership group.

You will use your commercial acumen and fundraising expertise to identify opportunities and support the team to recognise, shape, and pursue them confidently and effectively, enabling them to take ownership and drive progress across all income streams. A key part of the role will be ensuring that new commercial and public sector income streams are recognised, understood, and capitalised on across the organisation, working closely with the newly established Head of Business Development to embed this focus and enable them to succeed in driving this work forward.
Working closely with the CEO and Senior Leadership Team (SLT), you will play a crucial role in maintaining momentum, ensuring continuity, and supporting the organisation to deliver the new strategy and business plan, helping to realise opportunities, navigate challenges, and ensure long-term sustainability during this maternity cover period.

You’ll be responsible for:

• Driving income growth: establishing high-performing income pipelines across all income streams, with a strong multi-year focus, supported by robust data, reporting, and pipeline management.
• Integrating and accelerating public sector and commercial income streams: Ensuring newly integrated income areas are understood, valued and operational across the organisation.
• Embedding and executing a unified, co-owned fundraising and development strategy: Partnering with the CEO, SLT and Board to embed strategic focus, ensure integration, and alignment with organisational goals.

JOB DESCRIPTION 

We are seeking a Head of Partnerships & Events to join our highly successful Philanthropy team. In this role, you will work closely with the Director of Fundraising & Communications to develop and enhance our Corporate and Special Events Programme. This is very much a hands-on role of team leadership and direct account management. This includes six figure partners and our key relationships with Tottenham Hotspur Football Club, The Dorchester Hotel and international insurer Fidelis. Special Events include our Winter Ball which raises over £500k annual and our Golf Day at around £100k. The post-holder has a key role in the management of our Philanthropy & Corporate Board, which bring together industry leader to help move both these programmes forward. There is great freedom to innovate and a healthy pool of local business with an affinity to our cause. The post-holder takes a key leadership role across fundraising and marketing, working with their peers (Heads) and Director to take strategic decisions for wider benefit of the department. Having invested in the team’s capacity, we aim to grow income from c. £1.5m to £2m over the next few years. This in the broader context of a total voluntary income target for the charity of £5m-£6m.

The Head of Partnerships & Events leads a team of two currently, although this may increase. We’re looking for a Director to lead Appetite, our acclaimed Arts Council England Creative People and Places programme.

Our Appetite Director will oversee all aspects of the programme including planning, producing and leading the staff team.

We are a leading accountancy practice with a department specialising in delivering tailored financial services to the not-for-profit sector. Our clients include charities, social enterprises, and other nonprofit organisations dedicated to making a positive impact. We are seeking a proactive and skilled Management Accountant to join our team and play a pivotal role in providing exceptional service to our clients while contributing to the growth and development of the firm.

Role Objectives

Technical Expertise:

• Prepare accurate and timely management accounts, including income and expenditure, balance sheets, cashflow reports and fund tracking.
• Advise on financial systems and policies, with the skills to implement any agreed changes.
• Act as a finance business partner to operational teams, providing financial guidance.
• Assist with internal and external audits, preparing schedules and responding to queries.
• Prepare and submit VAT Returns, often under Partial Exemption scheme.

Client Management:

• Oversee a portfolio of clients in the not-for-profit sector, ensuring high-quality service delivery.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships, acting as a trusted advisor for their financial and compliance needs.
• Review and interpret financial information to provide insights and recommendations to clients.

 Knowledge, Skills and Experience Required

• Proven experience in a similar role and will consider candidates that have worked previously within an accountancy practice or within a not-for-profit organisation.
• Must have strong knowledge and understanding of the not-for-profit sector, including Charities SORP.
• ACA/ACCA qualified or working towards a qualification is highly desirable.
• Experience working with Xero and Excel is highly desirable.

What you’ll do

In this role, you’ll work directly with children, young people and families who have experienced trauma, delivering high-quality psychological interventions as part of a supportive multidisciplinary team. • Deliver trauma-informed clinical interventions (1:1, family and group work)

• A recognised clinical qualification with current professional registration (e.g. HCPC, UKCP, NMC, ACP or BACP)
• Experience delivering therapeutic interventions to children, young people and families affected by trauma
• Training in evidence-based approaches such as TF-CBT, MBT-CYP or parenting interventions
• Experience working within multidisciplinary and multi-agency systems
• Confidence in assessment, formulation and outcome-focused practice
• Experience of supervising or supporting trainees (or readiness to do so)
• A clear commitment to equity, diversity and inclusion in all aspects of clinical work

Key details

Hours: Part-time (22 Hours per week) Including Wednesday. Usual working hours are Monday - Friday, 09:00-17:00. 

Salary: £50,835 FTE, plus 6% contributory pension scheme 

Location: Hybrid (a mixture of home/onsite working): Clinical staff need to offer clinical sessions onsite at our London site (4-8 Rodney Street, London N1 9JH) for 60% ofworking hours.
