The Policy Advisor will play a vital role in providing strategic guidance and support to the Dioceses Commission, Archbishops' Council, and House of Bishops. This role involves managing complex initiatives, fostering collaboration between dioceses, and ensuring effective policy implementation. The successful candidate will contribute to the Central Secretariat's mission, including supporting the Inauguration of the new General Synod.

This role operates on a hybrid working arrangement, requiring attendance at Church House, London, 2-3 days per week.
This is a 6-month fixed term contract.

Responsibilities of our Surveyor: 

- Manage a designated property portfolio, delivering repairs, planned maintenance, and minor redevelopment projects

- Collaborate with colleagues across the organisation to identify and deliver effective estate solutions

- Work closely with Estates Support, Construction, Safety, Health & Environment, and Legal teams, as well as external consultants and contractors, to maintain a safe, compliant, and effective estate

- Assess property issues and implement appropriate solutions

- Lead property transactions and estate projects, including retail and commercial lease acquisitions and disposals

- Negotiate with agents, landlords, neighbouring occupiers, solicitors, and local or statutory authorities

- Procure and manage contractors, ensuring appropriate vetting and compliance 

- Oversee property works in partnership with retail and operational managers

- Maintain accurate records across estate, facilities management, and cloud-based systems

About the Estates and Construction team: 

Estates and Construction manages a diverse property portfolio that includes cat adoption and homing centres, charity shops, multi-pen sites, and residential properties. As we expand our vibrant team, we are seeking an additional Surveyor to help deliver high-quality property support across the estate. This is a varied and rewarding role, offering the opportunity to make a genuine and lasting impact on the welfare of cats, volunteers, and colleagues.

What we’re looking for in our Surveyor: 

- Flexible regional portfolio covering the South East of England and a small number of outer London properties. Applicants should live within a reasonable travelling distance of the region

- Level 6 or higher professional surveying qualification and current membership of a professional institution

- Post qualification experience of surveying in a property or facilities management environment 

- A full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle

- Working Knowledge of retail/commercial leases, acquisitions and disposals 

- Multi-site and use property management and compliance experience 

- Experience of working on and managing small building or maintenance projects up to £500k

- Ability to work within a small team and externally with professionals and third parties

About the role:

This is a rare opportunity for an experienced, precise and conscientious qualified accountant to join a dynamic, high-impact team working to protect the global environment and defend human rights. Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, you'll lead the international finance team and provide financial insight and analysis to the CEO and Senior Management Team to support a fast-growing, ambitious charity.

This role is right for you if you're an energetic, meticulously organised finance professional with a strong commitment to protecting the environment and the people who depend on it. You'll work globally to ensure EJF's financial administration runs efficiently in every country where we operate, securing value for money so that resources are focused on delivering impact.

Key responsibilities:

• Maintaining and improving EJF's global financial policies, systems, controls and processes, ensuring they are applied consistently in every country where EJF operates. 

• Managing six finance staff working in the UK and overseas.

• Ensuring the production of accurate, accessible and insightful monthly and annual global financial reporting for internal and external audiences.

• Providing strategic financial forecasts, insights and advice to the CEO, Senior Management Team and Trustees to inform planning and decision-making.

• Preparing budgets for funding proposals and ensuring accurate and timely financial projections of spend against grants and reporting to funders.

• Leading the annual organisational budget process, including multi-year financial plans.

• Mentoring team leads on financial budgeting, tracking and expenditure oversight.

• Monitoring and ensuring value for money in expenditure, identifying and removing inefficiencies and waste. 

• Developing and executing EJF's treasury strategy, including managing currency risk and reserves.

• Overseeing payroll and pensions, working with external providers where relevant. 

• Completing regulatory returns as required by the Charity Commission and statutory bodies in the countries of operation.

• Leading the annual external audit and overseeing the preparation of statutory accounts.

• Managing financial risk, including safeguarding EJF against fraud, and maintaining relationships with auditors, banks and other professional advisers.

Essential skills and experience 

• Demonstrable commitment to EJF’s vision, mission and values and a determination to change the world for the better.

• Qualified accountant with a superb eye for detail. 

• Minimum of six years' work experience, preferably in the international charity sector, including responsibility for managing a finance team.

• Demonstrable experience designing and implementing financial controls and securing good value for money through procurement and commissioning.

• Strong IT skills, and experience managing IT systems and/or databases.

• Excellent communication skills, in writing and in person.

• Proactive and solution-oriented, highly organised and self-motivated.

• Enthusiastic, outgoing and friendly, able to work in a growing, diverse, international team with minimal supervision.

• Experience of working with the UK Charity SORP and the production of the annual report and accounts.

• Experience with multi-currency income & expenditure and management of the processes around sub-grants to overseas partners.

• Ability to travel to EJF's countries of operation to assess the development and implementation of financial systems and to manage finance staff.

Desirable skills and experience

• Employment or volunteer experience in the not-for-profit sector.

• Experience using Iplicit.

• A track record of producing budgets and financial reports for successful international projects in the Global South funded by bilateral donors.

Role Description

The COO is the Cathedral’s principal member of staff and has responsibility for the overall operational performance and administration of the organisation, its assets and its people. Appointed by the Chapter and accountable to them through the Dean, the COO works with the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) to develop and implement strategy and policy, ensure effective governance and compliance, manage the business functions of the Cathedral and monitor its overall progress and development.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership

• Lead the development of the Cathedral’s overall strategy to reflect the Cathedral’s Vision and Values.
• Ensure the effective implementation of the Cathedral’s masterplan and successfully deliver outcomes through the effective performance management of goals and objectives.
• Secure financial sustainability, achieve growth and optimise the efficient use of resources through effective short, medium and long term planning.

Safeguarding

• Work closely with the Dean, the Cathedral Safeguarding Committee, Chapter Safeguarding Lead and the Safeguarding Officer to develop and deliver the Cathedral’s safeguarding strategy.
• Act as a role model in upholding safeguarding policies and embedding a healthy safeguarding culture across Cathedral life.
• Negotiate, implement and continually review the Service Level Agreement with the Diocesan Board of Finance and the Diocesan Safeguarding Officer.
• Ensure compliance with current safeguarding legislation and national guidance, fostering an environment where safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility.

Staff and Volunteers

• Ensure recruitment, training and HR management of staff and volunteers adhere to the Safer Recruitment policies of the Church of England and meet the needs of the Cathedral.
• Develop a workplace culture and ethos that reflects the Cathedral’s values and enables and empowers staff and volunteers.
• Act as a role model for effective people management, supporting, developing, and constructively challenging others while encouraging continuous professional development.

Cathedral Compliance and Operational Management

• Ensure the effective running and forward planning of Chapter and other governance committees, including compliance with the Constitution and Statutes.

• Ensure that the Cathedral meets all legislative regulations and complies with ecclesiastical and charity laws.

• Work with the Architect and Facilities Manager to ensure the Cathedral meets its statutory and legal obligations relating to heritage, ecclesiastical and listed buildings in its care.
• Work with the Facilities Manager to ensure the Cathedral meets its statutory and legal requirements in relation to its properties and responsibilities as a landlord.
• Ensure effective management of Health and Safety across the Cathedral ensuring compliance with statutory legislation and best practice; ensure emergency procedures are up to date.
• Ensure all data is protected and processed in full compliance with GDPR legislation.
• Ensure that the Cathedral is complies with all legal requirements, interpreting and communicating changes in compliance to the Chapter and Cathedral staff.
• Support the Church of England’s Net Zero targets and ensure the Cathedral has a plan for reducing carbon emissions; adhering to statutory requirements relating to Net Zero.
• Ensure suitable IT provision is in place, to support Cathedral operations, is secure and regularly review software and hardware requirements.
• Work with the Marketing & Communications Manager to oversee public relations, ensuring appropriate management of reputation, branding, and media activities; act as Cathedral spokesperson as appropriate.
• Review working methods, office accommodation and administration support to ensure arrangements are fit for purpose.
• Promote open and transparent ways of working throughout the administration, with effective communication and engagement at all levels.
• Oversee the effective planning and management of key projects and the implementation of delivery programmes to achieve operational and strategic objectives.
• Support the Dean in managing relationships with the 1327 Club.

Purpose of the Job 

The Head of Comms and External Affairs will lead our narrative and steward our reputation at critical moment, following the merger of FareShare and The Felix Project to form the new Felix brand. The role will set the strategy and operating rhythm for a team of seven across media relations, internal communications and public affairs, ensuring Felix speaks with one clear, trusted and influential voice.

Reporting to the Director of Marketing and Communications and working alongside the Head of Brand Marketing who leads brand marketing and digital communication, the postholder will protect and build Felix's reputation, shape national and sector conversations on food redistribution, food waste and food insecurity, and help position Felix as a leading partner in the national endeavour to triple food redistribution in the UK.

The role will provide senior counsel to the CEO, Executive Team, trustees and senior leaders; lead high-quality media, stakeholder and parliamentary engagement; and ensure internal communications support colleagues, volunteers and partners through integration, change and growth.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Set and lead an integrated external affairs strategy for Felix, aligned to organisational strategy, the post-merger integration plan, the refreshed brand and the national programme to expand food redistribution.
• Lead, develop and empower a multidisciplinary team of seven across media relations, internal communications and public affairs, directly managing three discipline leads and building clear priorities, standards and ways of working.
• Lead Felix's media relations and reputation management, securing proactive national, regional and sector coverage, overseeing reactive press office activity, preparing spokespeople, managing issues and crisis communications and working closely with the digital marketing team.
• Working closely with the CEO and policy colleagues, leading public affairs and influencing activity, building trusted relationships with government, parliament, food industry partners, redistribution networks, funders and sector coalitions to advance Felix's mission and policy objectives.
• Set the strategic direction for internal communications, ensuring staff, volunteers, network partners and other internal audiences understand the charity's vision, values, priorities and change journey.
• Develop clear narratives, messages, evidence and thought leadership that explain Felix's mission, impact and role in creating a fairer and more sustainable food system.
• Provide expert advice to the Executive Director of Fundraising, Marketing and Communications, CEO, Executive Team, trustees and senior leaders on reputation, stakeholder positioning, media risk, political context and communications opportunities.
• Work closely with the Head of Brand Marketing to ensure external affairs, brand marketing, fundraising, digital communication and operational communications are integrated, consistent and mutually reinforcing.

The National Church Institutions (NCIs) operate a wide range of grant-making activities to support the work and mission of the Church of England, distributing in excess of £250 million a year to dioceses, cathedrals, parishes and other organisations across different thematic areas administered by separate grant making teams.

The NCIs have recently implemented a Grant Policy Framework and a new Grant Management System (Vera Solutions Amp Impact) to support compliant, consistent and efficient grant-making across the grants portfolio, whilst ensuring proportionality across the breadth of grant types and grantees. Considerable work has been undertaken to align NCI grant making processes around best practice standards and 'out of the box' system processes, and to adopt a consistent policy for grant making including a standard grant agreement. This provides a strong foundation for continuous improvement and maturing of grant making activity, with the ability to take advantage of greater system functionality and new capabilities. However, it will be important to foster alignment between grant teams and processes and to preserve the integrity of the system design in a way which is consistent with the policy framework.

The Grants Policy & Product Owner will be responsible for helping to embed new ways of working across the grant teams, ensuring consistent adoption of the system and processes, and monitoring compliance with the Grant Policy Framework. They will act as a subject matter expert to support NCI Grant Teams to ensure best practice operation of new grant processes, take advantage of new system functionality as it becomes available and to maintain, interpret and update the Grants Policy Framework as needed in accordance with legal and regulatory expectations.

This is a fixed term contract for 18 months.

Working Well Trust is a mental health and employment charity in London. All of our projects share the aim of improving the lives of people with mental health support needs, learning disabilities and/or complex issues through training and employment. 

We are recruiting an IPS Operations Manager to support the delivery and development of our IPS services across London. The postholder will manage two IPS service sites from the following areas: Tower Hamlets, Newham, Barking and Dagenham, and Enfield. What you’ll be doing 

If you were working with us, you would provide operational leadership across two of our IPS services. These sites will be agreed with you based on service needs, your experience and working arrangements.

You would support Team Leads and frontline teams to deliver high-quality IPS services that are client-led, evidence-based and aligned with contractual outcomes. You would help ensure services run smoothly day to day, while also supporting service development, quality improvement and strong performance.

You would:

• Provide leadership oversight across two IPS service sites, supporting Team Leads with operational delivery, planning and problem solving.
• Ensure services meet contractual outcomes, delivery timeframes and quality standards.
• Support Team Leads to manage performance, caseloads, attendance, safeguarding, risk and service delivery.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with NHS partners, funders, community organisations and other key stakeholders.
• Lead on IPS fidelity across the services, supporting teams to deliver high-fidelity IPS and develop quality improvement plans.
• Use data, audits, client feedback and service reviews to identify what is working well and where improvements are needed.

We are a delivery organisation providing frontline educational services for young people. Our Head Office team is based on the site of our North Kensington centre in West London. Pathway's Business Development Manager plays a key role in our small core team, working with staff across the organisation to develop our offers to NHS partners and building and managing relationships with external funders and partners from the statutory, charity and corporate sectors. Reporting to the Chief Executive the postholder plays a leading role in developing strategies to increase our impact, diversify our revenue streams and support the spread and replication of evidence-based models of care and service improvements, emerging from Pathway’s own work and our wide inclusion health networks.

The main tasks are:

1. Business Development & Lead Generation

Research and identify opportunities to spread Pathway's models of improved care, including new routes to NHS commissioners, budget holders, and innovative funding mechanisms. With senior support, identify target contacts and generate leads to develop and diversify Pathway's revenue streams and carry out planning to adapt to the external environment.

2. Grant Writing & Funding Applications
Lead and co-ordinate the development of high-quality grant applications and service business cases, working across Pathway's teams to gather evidence, articulate impact, and make compelling cases for support to NHS commissioners and Trusts, charitable foundations, and corporate partners.

3. Relationship Management
Build, manage and track relationships with NHS commissioners, system partners, clinical champions, corporate partners and funders through new and existing mechanisms. Represent Pathway externally, developing a deep understanding of commissioners' and funders’ needs, and propose ways Pathway can plan to meet them. Help staff, Fellows, and close partners to understand these needs and how Pathway may need to change in response.

4. Marketing & Communications
Work with the Communications Manager to develop promotional campaigns and marketing materials that increase Pathway's impact and externally generated income. Maintain a strong working knowledge of Pathway's care innovations and service models, and promote these in an NHS-appropriate style. Keep abreast of developments in the NHS to ensure Pathway's communications and marketing activities connect with current health service concerns.
