Food banks provide three-day emergency food parcels for people in crisis, volunteering in partnership with organisations across the community. Through our social media platforms, we are aiming to gain support for our activity as a food bank and raise awareness in our local community of the drivers pushing people into poverty in order to inspire local people to take action and support us. We are looking for a Social Media volunteer to help oversee and drive this important activity forward and enable us to elevate the voice of food bank staff, volunteers, and those with first-hand experience of hardship. 

What you will be doing:

• Lead the development and delivery of our social media and communications plan.

Job Title: EPAfrica Summer Team – Project Coordinator (PC)

Location: Kakamega, Kenya

Duration: Minimum 3 weeks during our summer programme, which runs from approximately late June –  to mid-September 2026

Start Date: The EPAfrica summer starts in late June, with travel to Kenya taking place several days before the Project Associates arrive.

Compensation: This is a non-salaried placement, with the following expenses covered:

Travel: All project-related travel in and around Kakamega County. Flight tickets are at the expense of the post holder*
Accommodation: Fully covered throughout the EPAfrica summer.

About EPAfrica

EPAfrica (Education Partnerships Africa) is a volunteer-led charity working in partnership with rural secondary schools in East Africa. Our focus is on a win:win approach to skills development and capacity building. Role Overview

As a Project Coordinator (PC), you will be part of EPAfrica’s Summer Team, contributing to the effective delivery of our in-country programme. The role offers a broad introduction to programme coordination, capacity building and grassroots development work. Key Responsibilities

Working under the guidance of the Project Manager (PM), the Project Coordinator will:

Support Project Associates (PAs) in their placements, including:

• Monitoring project progress and helping PAs address challenges as they arise.

• Providing pastoral support and helping maintain volunteer wellbeing.

• Co-delivering training on topics such as project management, responsible development practices, cultural awareness, safety, and wellbeing.

Operational Coordination

• Assist with the coordination of logistics essential to programme delivery.

• Facilitate communication between PAs, the Summer Team, and the UK-based central charity team.

Monitoring & Evaluation

• Contribute to in-country monitoring and evaluation activities, including:

  • Monitoring visits to current and recent investment schools.

  • Assessment visits to potential future participant schools.

  • Staying informed on developments in the Kenyan education sector and their potential implications for our work.

• Support the maintenance of relationships with local partners.

Team Contribution

• Participate in Summer Team planning, reflection sessions, and process documentation.

• Help maintain the safety, security, and wellbeing of the Kenya-based team in line with EPAfrica’s risk guidelines.

Becoming a trap, neuter and return (TNR) volunteer is one way you can make a real difference to cats in your local area. Our TNR volunteers help reduce the number of feral cats by raising awareness of our TNR programmes, setting humane traps to safely capture cats, taking them to local vets to be neutered, and hopefully returning them back to their territory. Local TNR programmes are crucial, as feral and abandoned cats present a huge challenge for communities across the UK.

As a Production Assistant, you will support the Video Production Manager and team in all stages of video production, focusing primarily on the pre and production phase. At Cats Protection we believe our volunteers should be happy and confident in their roles. We are a new, independent, non-profit uniformed youth organisation with a bold mission: to engage young people in their communities, equip them with essential life skills, and unlock their full potential. Now, we are looking for Cadet Unit Leaders to lead our cadets at the grassroots level, ensuring they are seen locally in uniform as positive role models breaking down stereotypes of young people in the community.

As a Cadet Unit Leader, you will:

Role (Volunteer, unpaid): Partnership Support Volunteer

Role Description:

The Partnerships Support Volunteer will assist the Partnership lead in coordinating, managing, and expanding Wekume’s partnerships with local and international organizations, companies, institutions, and individuals. The volunteer will support communication, research, documentation, and follow-ups to ensure smooth and effective collaboration with stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
▪️Assist in identifying potential partners and maintaining a pipeline of opportunities.
▪️Support outreach efforts — drafting emails, booking meetings, and tracking responses.
▪️Attend partnership meetings (physical or virtual) with the Lead  when required, and take notes or manage follow-ups.
▪️Help prepare partnership documents such as concept notes, briefs, proposals, and reports.
▪️Maintain and update the partnership database and contact lists.
▪️Support donor research, grant mapping, and stakeholder analysis.
▪️Coordinate with program, communications, and finance teams to ensure partners are engaged and informed.
▪️Follow up on partnership deliverables and timelines.
▪️Assist in organizing partnership-related events, campaigns, or activations.
▪️Perform any other duties assigned by the lead.

Skills & Qualifications
▪️Strong written and verbal communication skills.
▪️Good organizational and follow-up abilities.
▪️Interest in partnerships, fundraising, youth development, SRHR .
▪️Ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks.
▪️Computer literacy (email, Google Workspace/Office, Zoom).

Time Commitment
Part-time volunteer role (flexible hours depending on activities).
Occasional in-person meetings and events.

Youth Leaders work directly with young people in St John Ambulance Badger Setts and Cadet Units. By organising a mixed weekly programme, this role will support the learning and development of young people into the next generation of health citizens. Youth Leaders also help young people develop their confidence, teamwork skills, self-discipline, and generally encourage them to strive to be the best they can be, as well as supervise and support other adult volunteers in their team.

You’ll get a huge sense of satisfaction and pride delivering an essential service. It’s great for you, great for your community and great for our nation, and it requires only a small commitment of your time.
