  • Support young people to set and work towards personal goals (e.g., education, hobbies, wellbeing).

  • Encourage participation in social, educational, or community activities.

  • Promote positive choices and help young people develop resilience and self-esteem.

  • Maintain appropriate boundaries and safeguard the welfare of the young person at all times.

  • Record session notes and share updates with the Volunteer Coordinator where appropriate.

  • Attend induction and ongoing training sessions.

  • Participate in regular supervision meetings.

  • Respect for confidentiality and safeguarding procedures.

  • Willingness to learn and take part in training.

  • A sense of humour and ability to have fun!

What You Will Gain

  • Full induction and training in mentoring, safeguarding, and youth engagement.

  • Ongoing support and supervision from experienced staff.

  • Experience working with children and young people.

  • The chance to make a meaningful difference in someone’s life.
