This role is based in the Mid Kent area covering Maidstone, West Malling, Aylesford, Larkfield, Leybourne, Bearsted, Paddock Wood, West Kingsdown, Wrotham, Hollingbourne, Harrietsham, Lenham etc

Meditation can give us a sense of calm, peace and balance that can benefit both our emotional wellbeing and overall health. Do you have experience in delivering meditation sessions and would like to give back your time to support people in crisis?

The hustle and bustle of everyday life can leave us feeling tired and burnt out. People in our services are feeling this more than ever and would benefit from learning mindfulness techniques and strategies. It is important for us to pay more attention to the present moment, our own thoughts, feelings and the world around us as it is known to support and improve our mental wellbeing, sleep, and increase our overall happiness.

What you will be doing

• Facilitate a weekly online meditation session in a small group
• Plan each session and identify any items needed for the Meditation sessions.
• Lead on the logistics and set up of the session alongside the staff team.
• Inspire and motivate people using the services to attend.
• Keep a record of attendees, provide feedback, and report any concerns to the staff team.

The Women’s World Banking Institute is a hub for research, training, and capacity-building dedicated to advancing women’s financial inclusion and economic empowerment worldwide. Through research, learning opportunities, and convenings, we help equip financial service providers, policymakers, and partners with insights and tools to take evidence-based action. 

VOLUNTEERING WITH US 

We welcome volunteers who are interested in supporting our Leadership Training Programs. Volunteers may be invited to contribute in areas such as maintaining alumni engagement lists, helping with session planning, or providing general support to ongoing knowledge-sharing efforts. This is a flexible, short-term opportunity to gain exposure to the work of an international non-profit organization while contributing to initiatives that promote women’s financial inclusion and leadership development.

POSSIBLE VOLUNTEER ACTIVITIES 

Volunteers may be involved in one or more of the following types of activities, depending on their skills and interests: 

• Collecting and organizing information related to financial inclusion and leadership training.

As an Education Team Volunteer, you will:

• Deliver training and awareness workshops in schools, youth groups, and community settings.

We are looking for up to ten UK university students to join our volunteer Student Ambassadors team and help Ygam achieve its social purpose by reaching out to students at university. This will be achieved by advising Ygam on the needs of students, supporting with content development, organising activities at your campus, and join us at events to raise awareness of gaming and gambling harms.

We are seeking individuals who are outgoing, with a confident personality. You will enjoy engaging with other students and be able to advise us on the experiences of students with regards to gaming and gambling.We’d love to hear from students with an interest in mental health, psychology, content development, and gaming. 

Stories Volunteer

Is writing a passion for you? Do you enjoy speaking to new people and hearing their stories?

Information about the role

You will speak to volunteers across Shelter and Shelter Scotland in a range of roles and with varying backgrounds and experiences.

You will write up their stories in an engaging way that captures what their role is and why they do it.

These stories will be shared to help celebrate volunteers and demonstrate the impact volunteers make upon our Fight for Home.

Location: Remote

Suggested contribution: 2 days a month (can be flexible around your commitments).

Availability: Volunteering will take place at a time that suits you, with some availability to hold conversations during Mon-Fri 9am-5pm.

This role fights the housing emergency by communicating the incredible contributions of Shelter and Shelter Scotland volunteers. This  may inspire people to engage with us, whether than be by signing up to volunteer themselves, contributing financially or supporting our campaigns.
