Our challenge
The Community Fundraising Team is an integral part of The Charity Fundraising Portfolio, with an income target of £3.6 million in 2024/25 and the team consists of Community Fundraisers based across the UK. Our role is to provide fundraising advice and support to our DIY individual fundraisers, Supporter Groups, Community Organisations and Regional Corporates.

How can you help?
We are recruiting a team of Community Fundraising Volunteers to help us engage with our amazing DIY fundraisers through a variety of Social Media channels, including our Regional Facebook Pages. We aim to inspire, motivate and advise our DIY fundraisers via social media to maximise fundraising opportunities across the UK. To do so, we want to be able to engage with our community in an exciting, informative and consistent way. As part of a team of Community Fundraising Social 
Media Volunteers, you’d help us by:
• Supporting us to develop and manage the Community Fundraising Team Social Media Plan for 2025/26.
• Supporting us to create inspiring and motivating engagement opportunities with our DIY & Supporter Group community, utilising all our Social Media Channels.
• Updating our CRM with details of the Fundraiser, their DIY event & any action taken in response to their contact with us.

What impact will you have?
You’ll play a vital role in the Community Fundraising Team, helping us provide the best possible experience to our fundraisers.

We’re looking for...
Someone who is passionate about The Charity and our vision. You’ll also need to be: 
• Confident in communicating at all levels, with strong copywriting & social media experience
• Confident with the use of Hootsuite (or similar Social Media software), CRM & MS Outlook.
• Able to identify new opportunities to raise awareness and funds.
• A good team player who understands the importance of collaboration

Time commitment
We’d ideally be looking for volunteers to commit to volunteering for one day per week (either one full day or two half days), as ideally we are looking for cover across the full working week. The role is home based.

Practical considerations
You will receive a full induction to The Brain Tumour Charity and specific training for the role, as well as ongoing direction from one of our Senior Community Fundraisers, who will be your key contact. We carry out reference checks for all individuals who will be volunteering with us on a regular basis. Volunteers will be required to complete some 
internal data protection and disclosure documentation before commencing the role. Volunteers must be over 18. 
We encourage volunteers to claim for any reasonable expenses that are incurred in the course of their volunteering with the Charity.

RollaDome All Skate is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Volunteer Roller Skate Coach to join our team. As a volunteer, you will support the onsite delivery of roller sports sessions, helping participants develop their skills, confidence, and fitness. 

Key Responsibilities 

• Session Assistance: Support lead coaches in running onsite roller sports sessions at our clubs. 

• Safety Monitoring: Ensure safety protocols are upheld to create a secure and inclusive environment. 

• Participant Engagement: Motivate and encourage participants of all skill levels, ensuring they feel supported. 

• Event Assistance: Help coordinate and participate in events, workshops, and showcases. 

• Equipment Management: Maintain and prepare skating equipment for sessions.

You will deliver sessions at our clubs in: 

• Harrow 

• Acton 

• Hounslow 

Please note that you will need to travel to these locations for scheduled sessions and events. 

Requirements 

• A keen interest in roller sports and working with diverse groups. 

• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to connect with participants of all ages. 

• Willingness to learn and uphold coaching techniques and safety protocols. 

• Team player with a positive attitude and enthusiasm for helping others. 

• Basic roller skating skills and familiarity with roller sports activities.

Title: Dementia Support Volunteer

Hours:  Tuesday mornings 10am – 12.30 & Tuesday afternoons 12.30 – 3pm (Mytchett) also Thursday mornings 10am – 12.30 & Tuesday afternoons 12.30 – 3pm (Japonica Court, Ash)

Supported by: Dementia Outreach Worker / Charlotte Lawrence (Manager) and Beverley Caldwell (Coordinator) at both locations.

Tuesdays:  The Mytchett Centre, 140 Mytchett Road, Camberley, GU16 6AA (Ash Vale / Aldershot / Farnborough Area)

Thursdays:  Age UK Surrey office, Japonica Court, Shawfield Road, Ash, GU12 6QX

Main Duties:

Morning - Assisting Dementia Outreach Worker to facilitate a Memory Lane session for people living with dementia or mild cognitive impairment (sessions to help maintain memory and mental functioning), this could involve helping with a range of activities such as art, music and reminiscence. Making tea & coffee. 

Afternoon – Assisting Dementia Outreach Worker to facilitate group activity attended by people living with dementia or mild cognitive impairment and their carers – activities could range from quizzes to bingo to arts and crafts. Making tea & coffee. 

Training would be ‘on the job’ learning and specialist Dementia training if necessary; online DBS registration with Age UK Surrey will be provided at no cost. You can choose either location to volunteer.

We’ll keep you up to date with upcoming local events where volunteers are needed. You’ll then be able to choose which events you’d like to volunteer at and how many hours you’d like to give. However much time you can give, your contribution will help raise much needed funds to continue the work of Cats Protection.

We are looking for Client Support Volunteers to assist in the Garden alongside our horticulturists in the supervision of our adult clients and teenagers with a variety of disabilities.

Our volunteers work in the garden with clients, helping them with various tasks such as planting, harvesting, pruning and mowing to name a few, under the guidance of our team of horticulturists. 

As well as general gardening work you will be assisting our clients, both children and adults with the opportunity to achieve a qualification in horticulture.

Other tasks our volunteers help with include general garden maintenance, DIY tasks or craft/cookery activities.

No gardening experience is required, just the ability to get along with others and muck in! This can be a great stepping stone to further education or work opportunities.

At present, we are looking for Volunteers who can offer a regular weekly commitment.

Purpose of the Role: 

We are seeking a passionate and skilled Data Volunteer to support Blackfriars Settlement in leveraging internal and external data to improve our impact in the Southwark community. This role focuses on analysing internal datasets and connecting insights with relevant public sector research, policies, and datasets to inform our services and advocacy efforts. 

Key Responsibilities: 

• Analyse internal data (e.g., service usage, demographics, outcomes) to extract trends and actionable insights. 

• Identify and access relevant public sector datasets (e.g., ONS, Southwark Council, NHS, DfE) related to social care, mental health, older people, employment, and poverty in Southwark. 

• Produce clear visualisations and summaries for use in internal reports, funding bids, and presentations. 

• Support the development of impact measurement frameworks aligned with local authority or NHS objectives. 

• Work collaboratively with the wider team to align data findings with service development and advocacy strategies. 

• Stay informed about public policy developments relevant to our beneficiaries in Southwark. 

Skills and Experience: 

Essential: 

• Strong analytical skills and experience with Excel, Google Sheets, or data analysis tools

• Ability to interpret quantitative and qualitative data and communicate findings clearly. 

• Familiarity with public sector datasets and open data portals. 

• Interest in social impact, public policy, or community development. 

Desirable: 

• Experience in research, monitoring & evaluation, or data reporting in the charity or public sector.
