We’re searching for an experienced Legacy Officer, who will play a vital role in ensuring every gift left to Dogs Trust in a will reaches its full potential. This role sits at the heart of our work, as every legacy makes a difference to the dogs we support.

What does this role do?
As a Legacy Officer, you will: 

• manage a caseload of pecuniary, specific, life interest, and residuary legacies, ensuring the charity receives its full entitlement and maximising value where possible,
• liaise with external stakeholders, such as executors or solicitors, handling sensitive conversations efficiently and professionally,
• review estate accounts, including the allocation of Capital Gains Tax (CGT) and Inheritance Tax (IHT), to confirm estates are correctly administered,
• represent the charity’s interests in all legacy-related correspondence, handling queries from legal professionals and the public with professionalism,
• maintain accurate records using the First Class 4 database, support with reporting, and escalate significant matters to senior legal staff as needed.

Interviews for this role are provisionally scheduled for week commencing 17th August 2026, and will take place at our London office.

Could this be you?
With proven experience in legacy administration, you will have good knowledge of wills, probate, tax and trust law. With excellent attention to detail, you will be highly organised and able to demonstrate experience of managing and prioritising own caseload. A certificate in Charity Legacy Administration is desirable.

Chief Executive Officer

The Opportunity

Many Tears Animal Rescue is at an exciting stage in its development. We rescue, rehabilitate, and rehome thousands of animals each year, and are now seeking an experienced, practical leader to guide our next chapter. You will build on our legacy, strengthening our foundations and securing our long-term sustainability. This role is for someone who can help us grow our reputation while giving our staff and volunteers the support they need to continue providing the best possible care for our animals. 

What will you be doing?

You will guide the charity's strategy and drive a period of transformation, ensuring our operations are effective, fully compliant, and set up for long-term sustainability. Your leadership is about ensuring that our strategy, finances, and operations all serve to give our animals the best possible chance of recovery and a loving, forever home. 

To achieve this, the role is structured around three key areas of focus:

Strategy, Governance and Compliance

• Work with the Board of Trustees to develop and deliver a strategic vision with animal welfare at its heart.

• Provide the Board of Trustees with accurate, timely, and insightful reports on risk management and performance. These updates will ensure the Board has the clear visibility they need for effective oversight and strategic planning.

• Champion a culture of transparency, accountability, and excellence in governance. Build strong, positive relationships with our regulators and key partners, including contributing to our statutory and regulatory filings to ensure we maintain full compliance with all external obligations.

• Lead the development of our internal policies and processes, ensuring every policy and process is fit-for-purpose, compliant with regulatory expectations and the highest standards of animal welfare, and are regularly reviewed to help the team work safely and effectively.

• Ensure strict adherence to all animal welfare legislation, Charity Commission standards, and sector best practices, maintaining the reliable framework our team needs to focus on the animals in our care.

• Proactively monitor and adapt to evolving Welsh animal rescue licensing regulations, ensuring our practices always reflect the highest welfare standards in Wales.

• Oversee the integrity of our operational and governance records, maintaining full transparency and auditability across the charity.

Financial Strategy and Sustainability

• Work with the Board of Trustees to develop and implement a financial strategy that puts the controls and oversight in place to secure our future and direct resources to where our animals need them most.

• Lead a long-term income generation strategy, focusing on sustainable, diverse streams including legacy giving, grant-making trusts, and community fundraising, to support our rising operational costs.

• Implement and monitor strict internal financial controls to ensure all charity resources are used exclusively for approved charitable purposes.

• Oversee data governance and digital integrity, ensuring robust data protection compliance.

Operational Delivery and Team Development 

• Take responsibility for the charity’s safeguarding culture, ensuring that all policies are embedded, staff and volunteers are trained, and that all incidents are investigated and reported with transparency, to ensure the safety and wellbeing of our people.

• Foster an inclusive and supportive culture while providing strategic oversight of the modernisation of our HR practices, digital systems, and infrastructure. Ensure we are positioned to support our team’s wellbeing, growth, and development - including our volunteers and fosterers - through structured engagement and retention strategies.

• Act as the charity’s lead ambassador, building relationships with the press, local authorities, other neighbouring and notable charities, and animal welfare professionals to enhance our external reputation. 

• Oversee our operational planning, including the day-to-day management of staffing rotas and fleet resources. Provide direct line management to the senior leadership team, making sure everyone has the support they need to work effectively.

• Monitor the rescue, and report to the Board of Trustees on core operational performance, including intake-to-rehoming metrics, fostering network capacity, and clinical standards to provide clear visibility on the welfare outcomes we achieve.

• Lead the implementation of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) across operational activity, ensuring consistent service levels and adherence to regulatory and best practice standards, to ensure our animals receive the highest standards of care.

• Direct all physical site operations, planned maintenance, and infrastructure improvements, ensuring all premises are safe, efficient, and fit for purpose.

• Manage charity risk, including contributing to the risk register, site-wide health and safety audits, staff and volunteer training, and carrying out robust assessment and management of operational risks.

Essential Knowledge and Skills

• A deep understanding of charity governance and regulatory requirements, specifically with the Charity Commission and Companies House.

• A comprehensive working knowledge of animal welfare legislation, specifically the Animal Welfare (Wales) Act 2006 and the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) (Wales) Regulations 2021.

• Exceptional communication and diplomatic skills, with the ability to build trust among diverse stakeholders, including staff, volunteers, local authorities, and the public.

• A full, clean UK driving licence and the ability to travel as required.

Desirable

• Experience in clinical or animal welfare operations, including familiarity with Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (RCVS) standards.

• A formal management or leadership qualification.

• Experience of managing a diverse and geographically disparate team

Time Commitment

• Hours: This is a full-time role. It requires flexibility to meet the needs of the charity, including occasional evening and weekend work.

• Location: This is primarily an on-site role, based at the rescue centre in Carmarthenshire, Wales to provide visible leadership. There is some ability to work from home for some tasks, and permanent on-site accommodation may be available if required.

• Nature of the Role: As the lead for both strategic direction and operational stability, the role requires availability to respond to urgent operational matters.

The Opportunity:

We are seeking an experienced Fundraising Manager to grow support for our work in the UK and internationally. 

You will lead the implementation of our 2026–2028 fundraising strategy, develop compelling supporter journeys and creating inspiring propositions that connect donors with the difference their generosity makes. Working closely with the CEO, Senior Management Team and Fundraising Committee, you will bring focus, energy and professional fundraising expertise to a charity with a loyal supporter base and significant potential for growth. 

Key Details:

Location:  UK (Flexible: Remote or Hybrid if preferred). There will be a few in-person meetings/events in our London office or other specific venues each year, with flexibility to work where convenient (office or home) most of the time. 

Hours: Part-time, 3 days per week (0.6 FTE). Flexibility over how hours are distributed across the week.

Salary:  £37,000 – £43,000 FTE, pro rata (c. £22,200 - £25,800 for 3 days per week), depending on experience

What You will do:

• Lead the delivery of HOPE worldwide UK’s fundraising strategy, with clear plans, priorities, KPIs and income targets.
• Develop a compelling case for support that inspires existing donors, re-engages lapsed supporters and reaches new and younger audiences.

WHO WE ARE

University Hospitals Birmingham Charity consists of four hospital charities supporting some of the busiest hospitals in Birmingham – Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham, Heartlands Hospital, Good Hope Hospital and Solihull Hospital.

Being in hospital can be really tough physically and emotionally. This is why our hospital charities do as much as they can to help patients and their families feel as supported as possible during their treatment.

Each hospital charity provides the added extras that are "over and above" what the NHS can fund as standard. This includes life-saving equipment, state-of-the-art facilities, training and research, as well as free accommodation and patient comforts.

Across UHB Charity we are currently raising funds for a Total Body PET CT Scanner as well as our Children's and Newborn Appeals and Home from Home accommodation for civilians and military personnel, to name just a few.

As a Legacy Administrator you will help us raise much needed funds that will make a real difference to our patients and their families.

JOB SUMMARY

This role is primarily based at Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham, with the expectation of occasional travel to other hospital sites.

This post is within the Fundraising Team at University Hospitals Birmingham Charity, which is the official charity of Heartlands Hospital, Good Hope Hospital, Solihull Hospital and the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham.

This is a new role within the Charity Team. In this role, you will be a crucial part in ensuring that all legacies to the charity are administered in a timely and sensitive manner, maintaining and building great relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.

This role will involve occasional evening and weekend work at charity events and events organised by our supporters. 

PRINCIPAL DUTIES

• Work with the Senior Fundraising Officer responsible for Legacies to actively manage a varied caseload
• Handle a mixture of pecuniary, residuary and reversionary legacy cases
• Tailor your approach to each case depending on the circumstances, having a flexible approach whilst ensuring that all gifts are administered in a timely manner
• Work to optimise University Hospitals Birmingham Charity legacy income where appropriate
• Ensure that all bequests to UHB Charity are received and utilised, in accordance with UHB Charity policies
• Maintain your knowledge of current legislation
• Play an active role in the wider legacy team and promoting Gifts in Wills where necessary
• Working alongside the Stewardship Team, ensuring accurate data inputting and correspondence both written and verbal with supporters
• Managing and prioritising unpredictable and frequently interrupted busy workload.

COMMUNICATION

ORGANISATIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

• Maintaining Raiser's Edge donor management system. Accurate data inputting of donations, fundraising, thank you letters and general archiving, production and upkeep of databases. 

PROFESSIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

• Ability to present oneself in a professional manner as a representative of the hospital and the charity.
•  To maintain confidentiality in all aspects of duty including fundraiser and donor data.
•  To assist in maintaining accurate records and to complete and return as requested statistical data.
• To maintain an accurate effective database, recording essential information and providing statistical data in accordance with guidelines and policy using Raiser's Edge, Microsoft Office, Word and Access.
• To represent the Charity in a variety of different contexts and to a variety of different audiences.
• To ensure that a positive image of the hospital and the Charity is projected at all times.
• To hold a flexible approach to working hours (the role will require the post holder to work evenings and weekends as necessary).

The Legacy Administrator will also carry out other projects and duties as directed by the Head of Fundraising, Director of Fundraising and Charity Chief Executive.

About the role

As Trusts and Foundations Executive, you will manage a varied portfolio of warm, lapsed and prospective trust and foundation supporters, securing gifts of up to £30,000. You will also manage our regular mailing programme to smaller trusts, coordinating the information and processes needed to deliver high-quality and timely applications.

You will research existing and potential funders and maintain and develop relationships, submitting tailored proposals and reports. By utilising a relationship-led approach, you will communicate with trusts throughout the application and stewardship process, whilst also working with colleagues across Shelter to gather compelling information about our services and campaigns. 

This is a one-year fixed-term role, offering flexible working with regular travel to London and other Shelter locations for meetings when required.

We’re looking for a proactive and organised individual, who can build positive relationships with funders while also managing a busy portfolio of applications, reports and stewardship activity.

You will:

• Manage relationships with an allocated portfolio of warm, lapsed and new trust funders, helping to develop sustainable, long-term partnerships.
• Lead the delivery of Shelter’s Small Trust Mailing, summarising our national and regional work and tailoring communications where appropriate.
• Write persuasive funding proposals, grant reports and updates tailored to the requirements and interests of different funders.
• Acknowledge donations promptly and steward funders between applications to maintain strong relationships with Shelter.
• Monitor and the Trust and Foundations Team email inbox, responding to queries, administering donations and flagging emails with the rest of the team as appropriate.
• Keep accurate records of donor activity and communications using Microsoft Dynamics and other agreed information systems.
• Monitor income and activity against agreed financial and productivity targets.
• Research potential funders and maintain an active pipeline of opportunities, prioritising approaches based on their potential value, likelihood of success and stage of engagement.

About the team

The Trusts and Foundations team forms part of High Value Partnerships within Shelter’s Income Generation Directorate.

The team currently consists of eight fundraisers and one Grants Manager, working together to secure funding and develop lasting relationships with trusts and foundations.

Job Title: Philanthropy Officer

Purpose of the Role

The role of the Philanthropy Officer is to manage the gift administration and stewardship of supporters, lead on the stewardship of regular and individual givers, and support the Philanthropy Manager to grow the Individual Giving income stream for Chance to Shine. 

This includes responsibility for the coordination of individual giving campaigns, management of the administration of legacy gifts, and wider regular giving campaigns and appeals.

Key responsibilities

Supporter Care

• Ensure all donations are efficiently and accurately recorded and acknowledged in a timely fashion.
• Process all individual giving bank donations including website/third-party fundraising/gift-collection platforms and ensure they are efficiently and accurately entered onto our Raisers Edge database and processed (cash, cheques, credit cards, Direct Debits and vouchers) daily. 
• Maintain accurate electronic supporter records including donations, personal details, Gift Aid declarations, communication preferences and any other data relating to their support. 
• Write and update template thank you letters. 
• Respond to donor enquiries and provide personalised information as and when requested.

Supporter Cultivation 

• Coordinate appeals and campaigns to help upgrade supporters and bring in new donors.

Legacy gifts

Compliance and Data Protection

• Support on data protection compliance for the fundraising team working with the Director of Finance and Resources and Fundraising team as appropriate.

The Opportunity

This is a new and significant appointment for SWT UK. We are looking for a Director of Development to develop and lead our UK fundraising strategy – taking ownership of income generation across all streams, donor communications and supporter stewardship, and managing a team of three talented fundraising professionals.

Our individual supporter base is large globally – growing in UK – loyal and deeply engaged: many give through our elephant adoption programme, which connects them directly with named animals in our care. SarcoidosisUK is a small charity with big ambitions! We want to make a difference to the lives of those affected by sarcoidosis in the UK by providing information and support, raising awareness and undertaking research into treatments and a cure.  We currently support over 9,000 people online and have strong relationships with both clinicians and patients.

The charity receives no government funding, generating its income only from personal and corporate donations, grants, legacies and merchandise sales.

Funds raised are used to provide support services, grow awareness, operate the Nurse Helpline, and fund research activities. The need for support is growing, and we must raise £250,000 each year, part of this will be the Fundraising Executive’s responsibility.

About the role

As Head of Fundraising, you'll provide strategic leadership across all fundraising activity while remaining hands-on in securing major income and developing key relationships.

You'll lead a dedicated fundraising team, drive innovation, strengthen fundraising systems and processes, and develop a sustainable fundraising strategy that diversifies income across:

• Trusts and foundations
• Corporate partnerships
• Major donors
• Individual giving
• Legacies
• Gaming and Streaming for Good
• Emerging fundraising opportunities

Working closely with the CEO, Senior Leadership Team, Digital and IT colleagues, you'll help embed new fundraising systems, champion data-driven decision making and ensure fundraising excellence across the organisation.

About you

We're looking for an inspiring fundraising leader who combines strategic thinking with practical delivery.

You'll bring:

• Significant senior-level fundraising leadership experience
• A proven track record of securing substantial income across multiple fundraising streams
• Experience developing and delivering fundraising strategies that drive sustainable growth
• Strong leadership skills with experience developing high-performing teams
• Excellent relationship-building, communication and influencing skills
• Financial and commercial awareness, including budgeting and forecasting
• Knowledge of fundraising regulation, GDPR and fundraising best practice
• A passion for improving opportunities for disadvantaged children

Experience developing new income streams, digital fundraising and CRM systems would be particularly valuable.

Overview

Race Against Dementia is a global charity founded by three-time Formula 1 World Champion Sir Jackie Stewart OBE to find preventions, treatments and cures for dementia – faster. 

We fund and support pioneering early-career scientists around the world, giving them the tools, mentoring and Formula 1-inspired mindset to accelerate breakthroughs. From the UK to the USA, Australia to South Africa, our researchers are rethinking how dementia research is done – applying data science, AI and engineering to neuroscience in bold, collaborative ways. 

Purpose of the role

The Supporter Engagement Officer plays a key role in making sure everyone who supports Race Against Dementia has a positive and rewarding experience. They will manage day-to-day supporter communications, maintain our supporter database, and build strong relationships with donors, fundraisers and volunteers around the world. By helping people feel valued and connected to our mission, they will help inspire long -term support and generate more funding for dementia research.

Duties and Responsibilities

Supporter care and fundraising

• Act as the first point of contact for supporters and fundraisers, delivering timely, professional and friendly stewardship via phone, email and post .
• Manage supporter journeys from sign-up to thank you, using tailored communications and automated journeys to maximise engagement and fundraising success.
• Record and track fundraising activity, ensuring accurate records and effective supporter communications.
• Prepare and send thank you letters, receipts and other supporter communications.
• Plan and deliver small-scale supporter engagement events, maximising both experience and fundraising potential.
• Recruit, coordinate and steward fundraising volunteers across the year. 

CRM and donor management

• Maintain accurate supporter and donation records within the CRM (Salesforce), acting as the organisational lead for CRM best practice.
• Develop dashboards and reports to monitor supporter activity, fundraising performance and trends.
• Maintain CRM integrations, ensuring data flows accurately and reliably between connected systems.
• Produce regular insights and reporting to inform fundraising strategy and decision making.
• Manage fundraising platforms (e.g. JustGiving, MuchLoved and GivenGain), ensuring data accuracy and compliance.
• Work with the Finance Manager to process monthly direct debits and reconcile income.
• Coordinate legacy and in -memory giving administration, providing sensitive and thoughtful supporter stewardship. 

Operations and administration

• Manage stocks of fundraising materials and merchandise, ensuring timely reordering.
• Oversee the fulfilment house relationship to ensure the efficient delivery of supporter packs and merchandise.
• Manage auction and raffle prize inventories, tracking usage and income.
• Support the planning and delivery of Race Against Dementia fundraising events, providing logistical and operational support.
• Maintain team calendars, campaign plans and shared resources to support effective team operations.

Other Duties

Carry out any other duties as required by your manager, Director, CEO and Board of Trustees including:

• To attend, where appropriate, local, regional and national meetings /events.
• To maintain a good knowledge of national and local initiatives which are of benefit to Race Against Dementia .
• To administer your own workload, including meeting targets and deadlines in line with the Race Against Dementia appraisal system.
• To a ttend relevant CPD training events as required.
• To undertake responsibility, as part of the team, for all Hea lth and Safety work related matters.
• To w ork within the guidelines of Race Against Dementia’s policies and procedures.
