Purpose of the Role
This volunteer role is a key part of the HFEH Mind team delivering a range of services across Hammersmith and Fulham, Ealing and Hounslow. We support clients with mental health with both clinical and non-clinical interventions. The volunteer will work with the Advocates, assisting the Inpatient Advocacy service, on the wards of The Limes and St Bernards Hospital. Our volunteer will the opportunity to support the Advocacy team with various tasks, including administration, (once trained), with the possibility of being trained as peer advocate.
Main Responsibilities
To work closely with the Advocacy team and Adult Services, Day Service Manager, attend ward rounds at The Limes and St Bernards Hospital and support the service in general. There will also be a further opportunity to train as a volunteer Peer Advocate in the future.
Tasks
All relevant training will be provided
· Attend Ward Rounds 3x per week with the Advocacy staff
· Support/work with the Advocacy staff on the Ward Round
· Provide information on the Advocacy Services
- Triage clients for the service through an onboarding process
· Register potential Clients, wanting to access Advocacy services
· Complete Advocacy Action Plans (training will be provided)
· Support with follow up surveys for those who have accessed the project and obtained their feedback to improve our services
· Support the Advocacy team to promote the service within the local community
· A willingness to undertake training courses
· Uphold HFEH Mind values and behaviours
General Responsibilities
All relevant training will be provided
• Undertake any other duties commensurate with the level of the role

Type of person we are looking for:
We welcome applications from those completing studies in Psychology, Counselling/Psychotherapy and/or any Allied Health Profession with a focus on supporting those with mental health needs.
However, your attitude, motivation and commitment are just as important as your training/qualifications and/or any previous experience. We will review all applications individually and assess them on their unique merits, so do not be discouraged from applying, even if you do not meet all the criteria listed below.
We encourage applications from those with lived experience of mental health problems, as well as those from Black, Asian and minority ethnic communities.
Essential
- An interest in supporting those with mental health needs to access Advocacy services
- An appreciation of the complex factors that can precipitate, maintain and exacerbate mental health problems
- Good oral and written communication skills, (including listening skills); the ability to communicate in a patient, considered and empathetic manner
- Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to follow administrative procedures
- A team player who is willing to chip in and work reflexively, responding to the challenges that arise from working in a dynamic environment
- IT skills: able to update spreadsheets, use web-based applications, video-conferencing software and Microsoft Office applications
Desirable
- Advocacy experience, including with friends and family
- Experience of supporting people with mental health needs, in a voluntary, paid and/or personal capacity, (i.e. friends and family)
- Previous involvement with local community groups / networks / feedback groups
- Awareness of the cultural barriers that may exist to seeking mental health support
Time commitment and expenses:
· 6 - 10 hours per week, 9am - 12pm
· 2 - 3 days per week: Tuesday & Thursday and/or Wednesday

Our Trustees play a vital role in making sure that MenWalkTalk achieves its core purpose. They oversee the overall management and administration of the charity ensuring that MenWalkTalk has a clear strategy and that our work and goals are in line with our vision. Just as importantly, they support and challenge the executive team to enable MenWalkTalk to grow and thrive, and through this, achieve our mission.
Board members have a collective responsibility. This means that Trustees always act as a group and not as individuals.
Duties:
- Support and provide advice on MenWalkTalk’s purpose, vision, goals and activities.
- Approve operational strategies and policies, and monitor and evaluate their implementation.
- Oversee MenWalkTalk’s financial plans and budgets and monitor and evaluate progress.
- Ensure the effective and efficient administration of the organisation.
- Ensure that key risks are being identified, monitored and controlled effectively.
- Review and approve MenWalkTalk’s financial statements.
- Provide support and challenge to MenWalkTalk’s CEO in the exercise of their delegated authority and affairs.
- Contribute to regular reviews of MenWalkTalk’s own governance. Attend Board meetings, adequately prepared to contribute to discussions.
- Use independent judgment, acting legally and in good faith to promote and protect MenWalkTalk’s interests, to the exclusion of their own personal and/or any third party interests.
- Contribute to the broader promotion of MenWalkTalk’s objects, aims and reputation by applying your skills, expertise, knowledge and contacts.
As a small charity, there will be times when the Trustees will need to be actively involved beyond Board meetings. This may involve scrutinising board papers, leading discussions, focusing on key issues, providing advice and guidance on new initiatives, presenting externally, or other issues in which the trustee has special expertise.

What is a Recruitment Coordinator?
Recruitment Coordinators help us find local people interested in supporting SSAFA and take them through our recruitment and selection process.
Why do we need you?
We’ve been supporting the Armed Forces community since 1885. Our beneficiaries come from all backgrounds and age groups and may have served in WW2 or in a more recent conflict like the Falklands or Afghanistan.
There are SSAFA branches throughout the UK and overseas who support local volunteers to deliver services to veterans, serving personnel and their families. Some branches are divided into smaller divisions to ensure the best local service delivery. Each branch has a team of volunteer caseworkers, support volunteers, executive roles, and fundraisers.
To offer the best possible service to our clients we need to match the right volunteers to the right role. Could you spare a few hours a week to help recruit new volunteers and welcome them to SSAFA by supporting them through their induction phase? We’d love to hear from you if think you could help with this important role.
When would you be needed and where would you be based?
The role is about recruitment and so will involve attending local recruitment fairs a few times a year as well as meeting volunteers both face-to-face and virtually. As part of your local branch, you might have access to an office, but the administration part of the ole can be done form home.
What would you be doing?
· Be the first point of contact for all volunteering enquiries, ensuring that all potential volunteers receive a timely response.
· Supporting volunteers through the recruitment and induction process and ensuring volunteers are communicated with throughout.
· Arranging informal interviews for new volunteers conducted in-line with SSAFA policies.
· Conducting ID checks (where relevant) so the volunteer can begin the vetting process
· Supporting volunteers to book onto role specific training and ensuring they complete their mandatory training.
· Working with the VDM to ensure branch vacancies are advertised on the branch website and national websites and support any national recruitment campaigns
· Maintaining good relationships with local Volunteer Centres and other local sources of volunteer promotion and attend local recruitment fairs.
· Evaluating volunteer recruitment activity, experimenting with creative ways to recruit volunteers from a variety of sources to create a diverse network of volunteers.
· Treating all potential volunteers inclusively with respect and sensitivity, regardless of age or background
· Supporting any volunteers facing barriers to find a suitable role.
· Being a positive ambassador for SSAFA remembering that anyone you meet could be a potential client, volunteer, or fundraiser.
· Volunteering within the standards and values of SSAFA
The remit of this role may change over the next 12-18 months depending on the outcome of a trial currently being undertaken.

· Reimbursement of out-of-pocket expenses
· Volunteers will be covered by SSAFAs Public Liability Insurance whilst carrying out the role.

Our Shop Volunteers raise money for the people we support with a Learning Disability. Do you have a few hours a week to spare and share your time with us?
Our retail roles are varied and fun. You could be sorting donations from the public, dressing our window or serving customers on the till. There are many people from different walks of life and it's a great way to get practical experience and to meet new people.
This role will take place on a weekly basis for a few hours We will try our best to be flexible around the best time for you, but also need to consider the store opening times and volunteer rota. It could be a weekday or weekend, morning or afternoon, our stores are usually open 7 days a week. We’d appreciate any time that you can spare.
Whilst in the store, you will help with activities based on the needs of the Store Manager.
Tasks you could get up to whilst volunteering could include:
- Serving customers on the till
- Taking stock donations from the public
- Tagging and steaming stock for the shop floor
- Dressing the window displays

The Events Assistant will support the planning, coordination, and delivery of Hidayah’s events and activities. Working closely with the Events Officer and wider team, this role ensures that all events run smoothly, are well-promoted, inclusive, and aligned with Hidayah’s mission. What are the key responsibilities of this role?
This role will have the following duties, but are not limited to:
1. Event Planning & Delivery
· Support the Events Officer in planning, organising, and delivering a range of events, both online and in person
· Liaise with venues and caterers to confirm logistics, costs, and facilities, ensuring value for money and guest satisfaction
· Manage event listings and guest registrations through OutSavvy, ensuring all attendees have active Hidayah memberships
· Assist with event setup, registration, and on-the-day coordination, providing a welcoming and inclusive environment
· Support with risk assessments, accessibility considerations, and general event compliance
2. Marketing & Communications
· Collaborate with the Social Media team to schedule and promote events across Hidayah’s social channels
· Create or support the design of promotional materials and graphics using Canva
· Draft event descriptions, newsletter content, and updates for review by the Events Officer
· Coordinate the monthly newsletter, liaising with the Social Media team to finalise and distribute
· Engage partner charities, community groups, and networks to share event information via email and social media
3. Stakeholder & Community Engagement
· Build and maintain relationships with organisations, partners, and individuals aligned with Hidayah’s mission
· Send thank-you messages to venues, partners, and attendees following events
· Distribute and collect feedback forms, compiling responses to support continuous improvement
· Represent Hidayah at community events and networking opportunities where appropriate
4. Administrative Support
· Maintain and update the contact database and event records

The Southwell and Nottingham Diocesan Board of Finance oversees the diocesan finances and has an annual budget of £12 million, and assets of £93 million.
Role Overview: We are seeking to appoint an experienced and dedicated missionally minded individual to serve as Chair of the Finance Committee. The successful applicant will also serve as an ex-officio member of Bishop’s Council as the Trustee Body of the Southwell and Nottingham Diocesan Board of Finance, and will likely sit on the Risk and Audit, and Investment Committees. This is a pivotal role in ensuring sound financial leadership, governance, strategic planning, and alignment of resources with the diocesan vision and mission with the aim of promoting financial sustainability.
It is a voluntary position, with out-of-pocket expenses reimbursed, and an annual commitment of up to 15 working days. The role will be appointed for an initial term of three years.

Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Financial Leadership
- Collaborate with the Diocesan Bishop, Chief Executive, Finance Director and Bishop’s Council to help develop and oversee the Diocesan financial strategy, ensuring it supports the mission and vision of the Diocese and long-term sustainability
- Support the Chief Executive and Finance Director in presenting the annual budget, long-term financial plans and annual reports and accounts to Bishop’s Council and Diocesan Synod.
Oversight and Governance
- Chair meetings of the Finance Committee, attend meetings of sub-committees to ensure effective governance and compliance with legal and regulatory requirements when receiving reports into Finance Committee from the sub committees.
- Be an ex officio member of Bishop’s Council (the Trustee Body) and Diocesan Synod.
- Ensure the boundaries of delegated management are clearly defined to ensure diocesan administrative staff can be given freedom to manage the Board’s operations
Stewardship and Compliance
- Ensure that financial systems and procedures are robust, transparent, and compliant with charity and company law.
- Oversee the management of diocesan assets, including investments and property, ensuring they are utilised effectively and efficiently to resource the diocesan vision and mission.
Advisory Role
- Facilitate communication between the Finance Committee and other diocesan bodies, ensuring a cohesive approach to financial decision-making.
- Involvement in the recruitment of the Chief Executive and Finance Director.
Risk Management
- Ensure regular review of Risk Registers, identifying potential financial risks and implementing strategies to mitigate them.
- Ensure that appropriate internal controls are communicated to the Finance Committee to safeguard diocesan funds and assets.
Representation and Advocacy
- Represent the Diocese in country-wide financial discussions and forums, advocating for the financial needs and priorities of the Diocese.
- Engage with parishes and other stakeholders to promote financial stewardship and support for diocesan initiatives.
Candidate Profile:
- Proven experience in senior financial management, accounting, or related fields.
- Strong business and commercial acumen.
- Proven experience in governance, strategic planning and change management within complex organisations.
- Demonstrable experience of chairing meetings.
- Strong leadership, collaborative and communication skills, with the ability to engage and inspire stakeholders.
- Experience of the not for profit sector.
- Commitment to the mission and values of the Church, with a focus on ethical stewardship.
- An understanding of parish life and the opportunities, concerns, and issues it brings.
- Eligible to act as a charity trustee.
Special Conditions:
- There is a genuine requirement for the post holder to be a committed Christian in the Anglican tradition or another member denomination of Churches Together in England or a member of the Evangelical Alliance.

Youth Advantage UK is seeking a volunteer Director of National Impact to develop and lead its National Impact Directorate in identifying and delivering on opportunities for the organisation to grow its impact. Responsibilities:
