We are looking to recruit a Group Coordinator for our Basingstoke group. As our local Group Coordinator you’ll take the lead in making sure your local group works as effectively as possible. You’ll recruit, induct and support other group volunteers to make sure your group’s activities meet the needs of your local MS community. The ideal person volunteering for this role should have the ability to relate sensitively to vulnerable women, with various needs, able to build rapport and boundaries in relationships. A commitment and compassion for our cause, preferably Christian, have good communication and listening skills. Good time management and able to work well as part of a team. Be friendly, approachable, a positive outlook and enthusiastic, with a willingness to learn. Preferably knowledge, understanding or lived experience of sexual exploitation and or domestic abuse, an awareness of the needs of the vulnerable.

Second Step has been promoting mental health and wellbeing for over 30 years, supporting individuals and communities to build brighter futures. ​ They specialize in recovery-focused, trauma-informed services for people with complex needs, including mental health challenges, homelessness, and substance misuse. ​ Their vision is a world where everyone affected by mental health problems can create a positive future. ​

The Role: As a Trustee, you will play a vital role in shaping the strategic direction of Second Step, ensuring they deliver high-quality, sustainable services. ​ You will work collaboratively with other Board members to oversee governance, financial planning, risk management, and organisational performance. ​

Who we’re looking for: ​

· Success in contributing to decision making at a strategic level.

· Motivating people to deliver the vision, aims and objectives.

· Senior professional and/or management experience, including business planning and budgeting.

· Experience in mental health delivery at a senior strategic/operational level (desirable)

· Personal experience of using mental health services (desirable)

· From a protected characteristic (desirable)
