Our Shop Volunteers raise money for the people we support with a Learning Disability. Do you have a few hours a week to spare and share your time with us?

Volunteering for Sense

Sense is a leading disability charity with extensive knowledge and expertise in delivering personalised, creative and flexible support for disabled people with complex needs. Our tailored approach ensures that every person is empowered to live fully at every stage of life.

Due to the nature of the role, we require all applicants to be aged 16 or over. You must have a UK address to volunteer with Sense.

What your role will involve

You’ll get the opportunity to get involved in a wide range of activities, including:

• Welcoming and assisting customers, providing great customer service, helping create a wonderful shopping experience.
• Receiving donated items from the public, thanking them for their support.
• Sorting, steaming and preparing donations for sale.
• Helping to display stock in eye-catching and exciting ways.
• Keeping the shop floor clean, safe and tidy.
• Talking to customers about Sense and the work we do. 

When you’re ready, we’ll provide you with additional training to:

• Serve customers on the till in a warm and friendly way.
• Put sales through the till, packing them and thanking the customer for shopping with us.
• Talk to customers about Gift Aid and other fundraising initiatives.

If you’re interested in taking on additional responsibilities, you can train to become a Key Volunteer, helping the shop manager by:

• Helping supervise the shop and other volunteers.
• Supporting the shop manager to make sure customers have a great experience.
• Opening and closing the shop when needed.
• Cashing up at the end of the day.

Campus Cares

Campus Cares is building a movement to improve the mental well-being of Nigerian university students, where suicide is the second leading cause of death among young people and nearly one in five shows signs of anxiety or depression. Barriers like stigma, underfunded campus counseling, and economic hardship prevent most from seeking help. 

Campus Cares tackles these challenges through a youth-centered model that combines peer-led workshops, free counseling, and digital outreach. Student “Mental Health Ambassadors” lead stigma-breaking sessions, while licensed therapists provide confidential drop-in counseling and tele-health support. Digital campaigns and resource toolkits extend impact to thousands more students. During exams, stress-management programs create safe spaces for coping and connection. 

By integrating awareness, access, and advocacy, Campus Cares ensures no student suffers in silence—building a culture where mental wellness is a right, not a privilege, and driving systemic change aligned with SDG 3: Good Health and Well-being.

Graphic Designer

• Design engaging visual content for social media campaigns, toolkits, and reports on mental health awareness.
• Create infographics that simplify complex mental health information for young people.
• Support branding for events, workshops, and our digital mental health hub.

Position Summary
Project Yananai seeks an inspiring, strategic, and results-driven Chief Advancement Officer (CAO) to join our Executive Leadership Team. Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership & Departmental Oversight

• Provide visionary leadership for the entire Advancement Division, including the departments of Brand & Marketing, Communications & Public Relations, Fundraising & Grants, Donor Relations & Stewardship, Strategic Partnerships, and Ambassador & Influencer Engagement.
• Guide, develop, and support department heads to ensure alignment with organisational goals, operational excellence, and innovative practices.

 Resource Development & Revenue Generation

• Oversee all fundraising and resource development activities across the organisation: major gifts, institutional giving, corporate partnerships, grants, individual giving, and innovative revenue streams.

Risk & Security Oversight

• Collaborate with Risk & Security Management to ensure compliance with legal, ethical, and security standards, especially in high-risk environments.
• Support development of strategies that mitigate risks related to organisational growth and external engagement.

Ideal Candidate Profile

• Proven senior leadership experience in global nonprofit organisations, with demonstrated success in fundraising, communications, marketing, and partnership development.
• Extensive experience leading and developing diverse teams and departments.
• Demonstrated ability to secure significant philanthropic support from a broad range of sources, including major donors, foundations, corporations, and innovative revenue streams.
• Strategic thinker with strong analytical, creative, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a talent for storytelling and stakeholder engagement.
• Experience working in multicultural, international settings and a deep commitment to equity, inclusion, and social justice principles.
• Familiarity with the complexities of humanitarian and development work, including risk management and security considerations, is highly desirable.

Dive into lasting impact: Fundraise for East London Waterworks Park to create and shape natural swimming ponds, ecological habitats and community gardens

East London Waterworks Park is a volunteer-led charity that has won a 2024 New London Architecture award and raised £2m towards buying land from the Department for Education to transform the 14-acre Thames Water Depot on Lea Bridge Road on the border of Waltham Forest and Hackney, into a new biodiverse park with natural swimming ponds, forest schools and community spaces. 

If you would like to help us develop our digital fundraising and our online offer, would you like to join our fundraising and communications teams in creating and implementing a strategy? We would love to hear from anyone with experience of fundraising online or with enthusiasm and a desire to test things out and learn as you go along. Recently we raised over half a million pounds through our Crowdfunder. Now we are looking to create a sustainable medium term income stream online.

The Fundraising Circle currently meets fortnightly on a Thursday evening on Google Meet and spends voluntary time outside of the meeting completing agreed tasks remotely. We understand that people may not have a lot of time to give, so we want to find volunteers who could give us one-off or ongoing strategic advice and support.

If you have experience in writing grants and funding applications, corporate fundraising, philanthropy, or any other aspect of fundraising, it would be great to hear from you. 

We are keen fundraisers but we are lacking professional in digital fundraising expertise and experience and we would love your help and input. We would welcome one-off advice on the phone or in person, as well as longer term volunteers. 

East London Waterworks Park is an exciting and ambitious project that offers many rewarding opportunities for our volunteers. You will have a significant impact on the creation of a new biodiverse community-owned park with free access natural swimming ponds and forest schools. 

By leading fundraising projects that explore how diverse professionals (architects, ecologists, web developers, community researchers etc.) collaborate to shape community infrastructure, volunteers will directly contribute to the development of a park that truly reflects the needs and desires of the local community. 

Without funding we won’t be able to make it happen. Your input will help us craft experiences that inspire, educate, and engage our service users, stakeholders, funders, and the general public, ultimately driving support for the park's mission and ensuring its long-term sustainability. So you will be directly contributing to the creation of a new biodiverse community-owned park with free access natural swimming ponds.

As a Volunteer Gardener, you’ll:

• Care for and maintain the gardens at the Croft
• Support the development of the gardens as a wellbeing space for the community
• Volunteer alongside staff and group members to grow and enhance the space
• Share your ideas for the garden’s development and future activities

Tools, full training, and regular supervision will be provided, so you’ll feel confident and supported in your role.

About the service

The Derbyshire Recovery Peer Support Service (DRPSS) helps people improve and maintain their mental health and wellbeing, and reconnect with their local community. We offer one-to-one support, telephone support, and community groups to anyone over 18 in Derbyshire who is experiencing mental ill health.

The gardens at the Croft are a key part of this, providing a safe and welcoming space where people can come together, connect, and enjoy the benefits of nature.

Unify Giving CIC – UK Based / Remote

Unify Giving is growing — and we want to launch a merch page so people can support our mission through print-on-demand products. Every item sold will help fund our work: direct, safe, trackable giving to people experiencing homelessness and domestic violence.

We’re looking for someone who knows their way around WordPress, WooCommerce and print-on-demand tools to help us make it happen.

What you’ll do

• Add and configure a merch/e-commerce page on our WordPress site.

• Integrate with a print-on-demand service (like Printful or Printify).

• Upload and format product listings, images and descriptions.

• Make sure the shop is smooth, simple and works for supporters.

• Advise on best practice for ongoing management.

Join our amazing volunteer team to make a real difference to people living with sight loss. You’ll be supporting people to come together in a group setting, to benefit from each other’s company, knowledge and encouragement, leading to reduced isolation, stronger networks of support, and new friendships. You can support with either local and regional telephone groups or face-to-face groups.

What you’ll be doing:
• Meeting and greeting group members on arrival or joining virtually.
• Creating a warm and welcoming environment.
• Supporting group conversations.
• Assisting with group activities (if appropriate).

Grant & Proposal Writer

Volunteer Role Description (remote, unpaid)

• Draft concept notes, RFP responses, budgets; maintain boilerplates.
• Source grants particularly from development partners (Canada, US, UK, Australia) website, especially those not typically publicised
• Maintain grant CRM
• Commissions may be discussed (where preferred) for grants won.
