Support our English teachers in real classrooms, morning and afternoon. You'll co-teach elementary and middle school students from 7:30am to 12:30pm, then help run afternoon reinforcement workshops — arts, crafts, reading, vocabulary games — for kids who need extra one-on-one time to catch up. If you've got a skill to bring (art, music, sports, a second language), even better: NDG actively encourages volunteers to build on it. No teaching certification needed, just reliability and a willingness to get in the trenches with a classroom full of 20 kids who are counting on you showing up.
Niños de Guatemala started in 2006, when three young Dutch travelers saw up close what a lack of schooling does to a family — and decided to build schools instead. Today that's grown into 3 schools, over 500 children in Ciudad Vieja and San Lorenzo El Cubo, and one simple promise: no child gets left without an education because their family can't afford it. It's a small NGO where every volunteer is felt, every week matters, and the impact isn't abstract — it has a name and a face.
Antigua Guatemala: cobblestone streets, three volcanoes on the horizon, and a UNESCO World Heritage colonial town as your home base. From there, a short, already-organized commute (NDG handles transport for your first few days) takes you to Ciudad Vieja or San Lorenzo El Cubo — communities just 20-30 minutes away where you'll spend your mornings. Real classroom mornings, Antigua evenings — the perfect balance of adventure and purpose.
Our vision is to help build communities that save lives and serve each other through volunteering for health and first aid.
Young people play a crucial role in helping us realise this mission. As a volunteer with our youth teams, you’ll be trained to provide our young people with both life skills and lifesaving skills – all while having great fun!
You’ll be working with our brilliant Badgers (aged 7-10) or creative Cadets (aged 11-18). You’ll also have the opportunity to design your own role, whether that involves running fun activities – such as outdoor events, summer camps and mountain adventures – or providing ‘behind-the-scenes’ support.
We’ll offer you the chance to become a fully-fledged Youth Leader, which will mean completing extra courses in First Aid or Adventure to broaden your capacity and experience.
Would you like to volunteer once a week or once a month? That’s entirely up to you. With the constant guidance of a friendly volunteer manager and youth team, you’ll have all the support you need to make bold strides and rediscover your inner ‘big kid’.
This role is exempt from the provisions of the Rehabilitations Offenders Act and as such as Enhanced DBS check will be obtained.
We meet weekly during term time on Friday 17:15 to 18:45

MANAGING DIRECTOR WANTED
BUILD THE MOVEMENT. LEAD THE SQUAD. CHANGE THE GAME.
URBAN YOUTH isn’t just a charity — it’s a startup youth movement built from raw energy, street culture, and the belief that young people deserve experiences that hit different. We’re small, scrappy, and unapologetically ambitious.
And now we’re searching for a Managing Director who’s ready to help us turn this spark into a wildfire.
This Is Not Your Typical MD Role
Just vision, hustle, and the drive to build something powerful from almost nothing.
Urban Youth is a pop‑up youth work charity (like a streetwear drop), creative jams, community takeovers, and high‑impact experiences that feel more like culture than “services.” We’re building a youth movement that’s loud, urban, and real.
We need someone who can help us take this raw potential and scale it into something unforgettable.
What You’ll Lead
You’ll be the strategic force behind Urban Youth — shaping our direction, building our foundations, and helping us grow from a startup idea into a city‑wide movement.
You’ll help us:
Build partnerships from scratch
Create opportunities with minimal resources
Turn creative chaos into sustainable impact
Grow our squad, our reach, and our influence
Make sure our pop‑ups hit hard and keep evolving
This is leadership in its purest form — no red tape, no grey areas, just vision, grit, and action.
Who You Are
If you’ve ever said, “Give me a mission and I’ll make it real,” you’re exactly who we want.
Why Urban Youth?
As Managing Director, you won’t just run an organisation. You’ll help create one.
You’ll shape the identity, the energy, and the future of Urban Youth from the ground up.
Ready to build something huge?
Urban Youth needs you.
Step up. Join the squad. Let’s build something massive.
