Roots Academy exists to bridge this gap by providing a structured and transformative Islamic education that speaks directly to the needs and challenges of young Muslims today, delivered in an engaging and accessible form that removes barriers to access and provokes thought and action.

Role Summary. 

Key tasks

• Design, develop, and maintain high-quality mobile and web applications using Flutter for both iOS and Android platforms.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other developers to define application features and user experiences.
• Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code, adhering to best practices and coding standards.
• Conduct code reviews and provide constructive feedback to ensure code quality and team collaboration.
• Troubleshoot and debug applications, resolving issues and optimizing performance as needed.

What we’re looking for

• Experience as a Software Engineer, with a strong focus on mobile and web application development using Flutter, Firebase and/or RESTful APIs.
• Understanding of mobile and web application architecture and design patterns, including clean architecture, microservices, client-server, or serverless architecture.

Our shops are at the heart of local communities – sharing the work of Sense, and helping to secure support for our life changing work.

What your role will involve

There are a variety of tasks that you can get involved with in the shop, including:

• Welcoming and assisting customers, providing great customer service and a fantastic shopping experience
• Receiving donated goods from members of the public
• Sorting, steaming, tagging and preparing donated goods for sale
• Creating eye catching window and in-shop displays
• Keeping the shop floor well stocked, tidy, clean and organised
• Processing sales and serving on the till
• Promoting Gift Aid and other Sense fundraising initiatives
• Acting as an ambassador for Sense; promoting the shop and Sense in your local community
• Supporting with the recruitment and training of new volunteers
• Following new health and safety measures to ensure the safety of everyone

We’re looking to recruit dynamic, committed and motivated people with professional skills and experience who are as passionate as we are about empowering individuals to work through and beyond their experience of sexual abuse.

Specific qualifications are not necessarily required and we welcome applicants with lived experience. A genuine interest in learning about our charity and our services within the local community is essential.

These trustees will help to form a new board dedicated to supporting the charity and contributing to the effective and quality governance of Trust House. BloodForce

We work in Ghana to eliminate the burden of blood acquisition on providers and patients in crisis by leveraging technology to galvanize the public to increase Ghana’s Blood Collection Index to greater than 10 by 2030, because no patient in crisis should die from unavailability of blood products.

Ghana at 5.6 per 1000 population, is significantly behind WHO minimum standard [10 per 1,000 population] required to meet a country’s basic transfusion needs. As a result, restrictive blood disbursement policies have resulted in delayed care for critical patients in Ghana and in many cases, avoidable deaths.

We believe that public communities can be mobilized to close gaps in health care delivery, particularly in developing countries. BloodForce plans to build an online blood donor community that can reliably and meaningfully increase blood donation rates in Ghana while helping patients and families navigate their blood product health crises. This community will also serve as a platform for advocacy and education, strengthening transfusion services across the country.

About the Role

Your mission will be leading efforts in safeguarding Onja’s legal interests as it continues to grow.

Responsibilities:

• providing accurate, relevant and timely advice to management and staff on a needs basis in respect of a broad range of issues, with a particular focus on employment law and dispute resolution;
• ensuring compliance with all laws and regulations that apply to the organisation;
• managing and mitigating legal risks by designing and implementing organisational policies and procedures;
• collaborating with third parties, including external counsel and regulators, as needed; and
• designing and delivering legal training to the organisation;

Requirements:

• Twelve month commitment (this ensures sufficient time to make a truly meaningful impact) with potential to renew/extend.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Bachelor of Laws or equivalent 
• Legal industry experience preferred
• Strong stakeholder management skills.
• High degree of professional ethics and integrity.

In this context, we are recruiting a Trustee who will help the Board stay informed about and give proper consideration to legal risks and opportunities.

Key responsibilities

Spring Impact’s Board is responsible for setting the strategic direction of the charity, supporting its organisational development and ensuring that it delivers against its mission.

We ask all Trustees to:

• Regularly attend Board meetings and contribute their specific knowledge or experience to help the Board reach sound decisions.
• Work with the Chief Executive to develop long-term strategy and set business plans and objectives.
• Ensure that Spring Impact and its representatives operate within the legal and regulatory framework of the charity sector and in line with its governing documents.
• Guard Spring Impact’s values and uphold the confidence and trust of its clients, staff and other stakeholders.
• Work effectively with other members of the Board.
• Act as an enthusiastic ambassador for Spring Impact, helping to build our network and donor base.

Board and Committee meetings

There are usually four Board meetings per year, typically of two hours’ duration; physical attendance is recommended for those based in London but otherwise online. There is also an annual in-person Away Day meeting in London. Board members also commit to joining at least one Board sub-committee, which typically meets quarterly. Currently, there are three such committees: Finance, Client Impact and People.

Remuneration

The role of Trustee is voluntary and not accompanied by any financial remuneration.

Reasonable expenses such as travel or childcare may be claimed, together with the costs of attending relevant training courses and the like.

Term of office

Normally, two three-year terms. The maximum is a total of three terms.

Key skills and experiences

• Extensive general legal experience – definitely including the law relating to UK registered charities and companies, ideally also including experience of entities operating internationally. 
• Commitment to Spring Impact’s mission and values and a willingness to devote the necessary time and effort to the Trustee role.
• An understanding and acceptance of the legal duties, responsibilities and liabilities of Trusteeship.
• A well-rounded understanding of the work of non-profit organisations, ideally gained through senior leadership roles in the sector.
• Strong communication skills, including the ability to challenge and contribute to the work of the Board in a collegiate, constructive and supportive manner.
• Understanding of Spring Impact’s business model – charity consulting, scaling impact, etc.

We are a national suicide prevention charity, and our vision is a future where more lives are saved from suicide. We empower people to help saves lives from suicide through connecting, educating, and campaigning nationally:

· Connecting: We listen and connect people to support through our Stay Alive app, tools, and resources to help keep people safe from suicide.

Trustees are our most senior leaders. About Children With Voices

Children With Voices (CWV) is a grassroots non-profit organisation dedicated to improving the lives of children and families through community-driven programs. We run holiday clubs, healthy lifestyle education, and intervention projects for children aged 5–11 to combat childhood obesity, antisocial behaviour, and gang involvement.

Our goal is early intervention – giving children the tools to lead healthier, safer, and more empowered lives.

The Role – Board Member (Volunteer)
