Job description

At Quicken Trust, we do things differently – and have been doing so for 20 years. We now want to develop new ways of working that will continue to make a real and lasting difference to the lives of disadvantaged children and adults in a Ugandan rural community.  As Director, you will help us shape the way we do things.  Reaffirming us as a Christian-based professional organisation by managing the charity and delivering a programme of genuinely rewarding projects.  In developing a marketing and fundraising strategy, you will enable us to gear up to deliver developmental outcomes that make a true difference.

Working closely with a group of ‘can-do’ Trustees you’ll ensure strategies are defined, delivered and embedded. Not only will you deliver projects, but you will manage volunteers, interns and project managers (if required) keeping a strategic view across all project streams.  Your role will be to manage the charity and deliver a transformational project programme that also brings in funding - so it’s important you’re able to understand the bigger picture.  Joining us as we put these critical changes in place, you’ll ultimately help shape the future of Quicken Trust and we have big plans! About You

Along with a proven track record of success you will have exceptional communication and negotiation skills, be able to build good relationships with those around you and thrive on challenges.  You will be a self-starter, a problem solver, an inspirational manager who has the proven ability to turn ideas into reality.

Specifically, you will have:

  • Management experience
  • Track record of project development, management and delivery
  • Experience of securing funding and collaborating with funders
  • Ability to motivate
  • Comfortable working with a broad range of diverse partners such as statutory organisations, businesses, church groups, schools, voluntary and private sectors, individual donors
  • Excellent presentation skills, verbal and written
  • Budgeting skills
