We have an exciting career opportunity for a Marketing Officer to join our expert Marcomms team here at Sue Ryder.
This key role sits within our Brand & Marketing team, working across projects with our Healthcare, Income Generation and Creative teams. You will work closely with colleagues across the organisation as well as building relationships with our key marketing suppliers and agencies.

You will help position Sue Ryder as a specialist and expert end-of-life care and bereavement support provider, supporting the team to develop strategic and tactical marketing communications and ensure end-of-life care and bereavement marketing messaging is consistent and on brand across all marketing and communications activity.

The Marketing Officer reports into Marketing Manager for Fundraising and works across the Brand & Marketing team to:

• Develop effective marketing assets and campaigns for brand, healthcare and income generation.
• Work closely with in-house and external designers to deliver marketing campaigns and assets.
• Ensure brand and health marketing messaging remains consistent and on brand across all activity.
• Support the management and usage of our marketing and design tools and platforms.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop effective marketing campaigns and assets for Healthcare, Income Generation and Volunteering teams, ensuring objectives are met and integration opportunities are maximised across the charity
• Work closely with in-house and external designers to deliver marketing campaigns and assets.
• Manage day-to-day relationships with external suppliers, such as printers, freelancers, photographers, and creative agencies on allocated projects.
• Represent the Brand & Marketing team on selected organisational working groups and actively engage with our internal networks.
• Help manage our marketing tools and platform to support usage across the organisation.
• Provide project support to our Creative Team, for example co-ordinating brand photography shoots.
• Ensure all healthcare and fundraising literature is in stock, on brand and updated in terms of content, consent, permissions and legal requirements.
• Have a clear understanding of our brand guidelines and key messaging and support embedding this across all our marketing communications.
• Build strong, internal relationships with stakeholders across Sue Ryder.
• Support the smooth running of the team administration.

About you:
Essential

• Experience of managing and delivering marketing campaigns on time and on budget
• Experience of managing and developing creative assets which are relevant and impactful to the specific audience.
• Experience of working with creative and print agencies.
• Excellent communication skills to build effective relationships with internal colleagues within the wider marketing and communications department such as PR and digital to ensure integrated working
• Keen attention to detail
• Excellent time management and prioritisation skills, able to work at pace across a range of projects

Desirable

• Relevant experience working in a charity or agency environment
• Experience of working with brand management.

To act as an enthusiastic ambassador for the charity; building strong relationships across a variety of networks to support and develop the public presence of the charity and community fundraising income. The role may involve evening and weekend working to support community fundraising activities and events, and working hours are flexible to reflect this.

Key Duties

Fundraising:

• Be the primary point of contact for new and existing supporters.
• Proactively look for opportunities to support and develop local fundraising initiatives.
• Develop and deliver a varied range of fundraising activities to a range of audiences, including events and campaigns.
• Act as an ambassador for the charity with local community groups and organisations.
• Work with the wider team to develop relationships with local businesses and corporate partners.
• Work to set targets and generate income. Work with the wider team to recruit and support local fundraising volunteers.
• Maintain up to date records of communication with funders; income generated and how this compares to budget.
• Keep up to date with the latest fundraising trends, regulations and news.

Marketing & Communications:

• Develop the charity’s public presence and brand.
• Produce marketing materials to represent the charity and its projects, including online newsletters, print media and merchandise.
• Manage the charity’s digital content including social media channels and website.
• Support with e-commerce and support the enterprise team to maximise opportunities.
• Represent the organisation at networking events, meetings and other outside events, as necessary.

Other:

• Supporting other members of the team to deliver activities; including, but not limited to, activity days and evening clubs.
• To help develop new and innovative ideas to help our target groups and meet our charitable objectives.

Requirements

Qualifications:

• Have a sound education to A-level standard or equivalent.

Experience:

• Experience of supporting community fundraisers; have a good understanding of community and events fundraising and supporter care.
• Experience of developing marketing materials in a variety of mediums.
• Be adept in using a variety of social media channels and platforms.

Skills:

• Demonstrate excellent communication skills (verbal and written) and the ability to represent the charity in a variety of settings.
• Be able to prioritise and demonstrate excellent planning, organisational and time management skills.
• Excellent IT skills in a variety of website platforms and applications which should include Microsoft Office, Wix and WordPress.
• Ability to identify needs and set up new systems and procedures

About Aspens

Aspens is a charity that provides high-quality person-centred care and support to individuals on the autism spectrum and with learning disabilities, and their families. We provide an integrated network of services and support across the South-East to empower individuals to lead their lives as independently as possible.

We support children, families and adults across Kent, East Sussex, West Sussex, Brighton and Hove, Surrey and the London Borough of Bexley. Purpose of Role
This role will work with direction from the Marketing and Communications Manager to deliver marketing campaigns to raise awareness of and promote Aspens’ services, income-generation activities including fundraising, retail and hospitality, and recruitment; engage with our internal and external stakeholders; and reach new audiences. A key part of the role will be internal ‘customer’ support, collaborating with departments across the charity to meet shared goals in line with Aspens’ strategic objectives.

Key Responsibilities

Campaign delivery

· Collaborate with the operations, fundraising, retail and recruitment teams to create and deliver comprehensive marketing campaigns to promote Aspens’ services, shops/e-commerce, hospitality, events and recruitment and meet shared goals in line with the charity’s strategic objectives.

· Create and deliver internal comms campaigns to drive engagement and increase retention of staff.

Content Creation

Purpose
The Marketing Assistant is a varied role, working primarily in our Supporter Relations team, but also supporting other areas of the Fundraising and Communications team.
The primary focus of this position is to provide an excellent customer experience for CBM supporters so that every interaction is carried out with excellence, integrity and efficiency. This will help to create and be part of a supporter experience that develops and maintains long-term relationships with dedicated individuals and churches across the UK. The Marketing Assistant will ensure supporters feel valued and engaged with CBMs work.

On a day-to-day basis the position holder will be engaging with supporters by phone, email and writing, in responding to a wide range of enquiries, and carrying out administrative activities associated with marketing campaigns, donations, fundraising events and requests for materials.

The successful applicant requires strong written and verbal communication skills, as well as confidence to make outbound phone calls to build relationships, thank supporters, to share updates on our work, and ask for donations to build relationships, grow supporter engagement and maximise long-term income.
The position is part of a dedicated and enthusiastic Fundraising and Communications team, and part of this role is to provide additional administrative support to the wider team, specifically in areas such as 121 supporter communications to fundraisers doing events, churches, and legacy and in memoriam supporters.

Key Responsibilities
1. Inbound enquiries (40%)
Respond to the needs of CBM supporters and the public through the handling of inbound calls and emails in a prompt, professional, and courteous manner.

This includes:
a. Taking and processing donations over the telephone.
b. Handling requests, feedback and complaints in a respectful and timely manner, and offering solutions when appropriate.
c. Updating supporter records on the Customer Relationship Management system (currently Salesforce) and carrying out mail or email follow-up when required.
d. Responding to emails in the giving inbox, directing queries appropriately and maintaining organised records of communication.
e. Co-ordinating and responding to comments made on CBM’s social media platforms.

2. Outbound 121 communications (30%):
Carry out outbound calls to potential and existing supporters to inspire donations and explain over the telephone how support will transform lives, following set briefs and guidelines, but when applicable engaging supporters in conversation in a non-scripted approach. This includes:
a. Regular outbound calls and emails include thanking and stewardship communications, asking for support by Direct Debit, clarifying Gift Aid statuses, and discussing the possibility of supporting the charity in a Will.
b. Update the outcome of calls on supporter records on the CRM system.
c. Process donations made over the phone, carrying out mail or email follow-up when required, using existing materials and letter templates.
d. Refer follow up actions that are outside of the team’s remit to the relevant team or individual.
e. Contribute to the creation and development of guidelines for in- and out-bound telephone conversations.

3. Additional administrative duties (30%):
Perform a variety of other administrative tasks to support the wider fundraising team:
a. Data inputting, preparation and reports.
b. Updating and proofing fundraising materials.
c. Supporting speaker and church coordination when required.
d. Co-ordinating the stock and the distribution of supporter materials and fundraiser resources.
e. Mailing out church packs, thank you letters, and personalised communications, such as handwritten cards.
f. Liaise with colleagues and attend meetings to ensure up-to-date knowledge of CBM’s work.
g. Help develop a culture of enthusiasm and success, which reflects the ambitions of CBM.
