We are the New Organising Collaborative, conveners of the New Organising Conference - a groundbreaking initiative aimed at building collective power to advance social justice. This event brings together a diverse group of participants — including trade unions, community organisers, non-profits, academics, lawyers, and journalists — all with a shared commitment to workers' rights and community organising.
Held annually over a weekend, the Conference fosters learning, inspiration, and collaboration. In September 2025, 60 individuals delivered 44 different sessions to an audience of 130 attendees. As the Conference preparations ramp up, we are looking for a dedicated Event Coordinator to join our team. You will be involved in all aspects of outreach for the Conference, including social media, as well as managing registrations, and trouble shooting at the Conference itself (with plenty of time to enjoy the sessions.) Work Location/Hybrid Working Pattern
This role will be based at our Head Office in central London. Mothers’ Union operates a hybrid working model. Staff are required to work an aggregate minimum of 90 days per calendar year (pro rata for part timers) at our Head Office, Mary Sumner House in central London. Tuesdays are our anchor days where every staff member is expected to be at the office. The 90 days includes anchor Tuesdays. In addition, Thursday is a core working day where part time staff are expected to work, either at home or from the office as needed.

As a key member of our small, friendly staff team, you will lead the development of fundraising from individuals, businesses, trusts and foundations, and community groups. You will also take a leading role in shaping how we share our story. Working closely with the Head of Foodbank and colleagues, you will create marketing materials, digital and print content, fundraising campaigns, and communications that bring our mission and our clients’ experiences to life. This includes producing newsletters, fundraising appeals, social media content, and materials for events and outreach activities.
A central part of this role is inspiring and stewarding supporters, whether that’s someone making a one‑off donation, a local business exploring a partnership, or a trust considering a grant application. You will represent the Foodbank at community events across the region, building relationships with schools, churches, associations, local groups and businesses. Communications Assistant
The Communications Assistant will provide hands-on support to the Communications Manager in the ideation, creation and delivery of our regular external communications. This includes helping to grow our social media following, creating and scheduling content, sourcing and designing images, providing copywriting support, and responding to comments across our channels. The role will also involve drafting and scheduling newsletters and providing administrative support with our databases.
This is a 15‑hour‑per‑week role, with the potential to grow in the future. Ideally, we are looking for someone who can spread their hours across the week to support consistent content delivery, but we are open to discussing alternative working patterns for the right candidate.
The successful candidate will have experience in a communications, marketing or social media role. They will be proficient in Adobe Illustrator and have basic video editing and/or animation skills. Strong copywriting skills and the ability to adapt tone of voice for different channels are essential, as is confidence using Mailchimp or similar email marketing platforms.
