The Community Engagement Coordinator will support the development of our partnership network and the delivery of our work in Wales. This will involve communicating and engaging, in person and online, with a range of delivery partners, building relationships, communicating about our work and coordinating the day-to-day operations of our programmes. There will also be a level of general administration and support.
It is a very varied role that involves working with a wide range of external stakeholders, including practitioners working in early years settings, schools, libraries as well as community groups and other charities, as well as internal colleagues across BookTrust. The role includes both outward facing work such as organising and attending events, visiting new and existing partners, communicating directly with delivery partners and on our social media as well as internal project administration and co-ordination, and office administration. The Community Engagement Coordinator will also contribute to the development of new activities and programmes.

You will have ideally worked within or across a particular community or region, in outreach or a project within the third sector and be a highly motivated individual with the ability to work and travel unsupervised across multiple projects simultaneously and to work at pace, often to tight deadlines.

KSAAS (formerly East Kent Rape Crisis Centre) has offered sexual violence services in East Kent since 1993 and we offer ongoing practical support and therapeutic services for survivors who have experienced any form of sexual violence at any time in their lives of in Kent & Medway . KSAAS holds UKAS accreditation through The Survivors Trust and is Professionally Approved By Rape Crisis England & Wales, demonstrating the consistent, high-quality services that we offer to our survivors.
KSAAS operates Independent Sexual Violence Advisors (ISVA) services and joint ISVA and Independent Domestic Violence Advisors (IDVA) services for those experiencing sexual violence alongside domestic abuse. We also offer trauma focused therapeutic counselling services for children, adolescents and adults and these services are accessible through various hubs across Kent & Medway. Peer support groups and family advocacy services are available to support families when there has been an occurrence of sexual abuse experienced by one or more family members and our services are supported and informed by the ‘Kick Back’ group, who are survivors of sexual violence who offer help, support and advice to other survivors and inform our service development. We also have a range of volunteers who support us with various aspects of the service provision.
In addition to providing support and therapeutic services, a key function of the organisation is to robustly challenge the societal values, beliefs and behaviour which contribute to sexual violence, through proactive projects that aim to raise awareness, delivery of information sessions in educational institutions, delivery of NOCN accredited Rape and Sexual Abuse training, ongoing activism, challenging attitudes we encounter as part of our work with survivors, focused campaigns and participation in research focused on sexual violence.
In the last year, we worked with > 6000 survivors in our face-to-face services and specialist sexual violence Helpline service and in April 2026 we extended our provision and scope and have been commissioned to be the main provider of ISVA and Therapeutic Support services across Kent & Medway, funded by the Police & Crime Commissioner.
We are looking for an inspiring, motivated and innovative woman who is driven by feminist values to be the figurehead of our organisation, providing empowering leadership to the team, strategic oversight of the organisation and to ensure an outstanding service for all survivors of sexual violence. Main Purpose of The Role

Strategic Leadership
• Develop an in-depth understanding of the issues faced by women and girls who are subjected violence and the staff who support them within the service

• Review the aims, vision and mission of the organisation in collaboration with our survivors, staff, board of trustees, business partners & umbrella organisations

To be eligible for this role, you need to evidence the following knowledge, skills and experience, at least in part:
• A successful track record of leadership within an organisation of comparable complexity or across a significant area of work, including strategic, financial and operational planning.

• A track record of successfully managing and leading people who work across a range of sites and an understanding of the challenges faced by staff working with sexual violence survivors

Communications Assistant
The Communications Assistant will provide hands-on support to the Communications Manager in the ideation, creation and delivery of our regular external communications. This includes helping to grow our social media following, creating and scheduling content, sourcing and designing images, providing copywriting support, and responding to comments across our channels. As part of the Creative team, you’ll work closely with colleagues across the organisation to create excellent visual communications that support our core objectives of inspiring action and driving positive change for men. Working alongside a diverse and talented group of people, you’ll collaborate with key stakeholders to develop impactful branded content across digital and print that motivates our audiences to act.
We’re a busy, friendly team working in partnership with others to ensure our brand remains relevant, bold and innovative. In this varied and dynamic role, you’ll deliver high-quality in-house design across a wide range of projects, from digital campaigns and printed materials to packaging, merchandise and more. You’ll help shape briefs, build shared understanding of creative requirements and act as a Design Lead on key products, working closely with product owners and teams from concept through to delivery, with support from a Senior Designer.
You’ll develop fresh, engaging concepts that stay true to our brand, manage your workload and priorities, and deliver high‑quality creative both solo and as part of a team. You’ll provide creative guidance to colleagues and partners, help maintain a consistent visual identity, and build strong working relationships with external suppliers.
What we want from you
You’ll be an established Designer with demonstrable experience in the design industry and a strong portfolio that shows your ability to deliver high-quality print and digital work from concept through to completion. You’ll have relevant academic or professional qualifications, or equivalent practical experience, and a solid understanding of brand management and visual identity.
You’ll be comfortable using Adobe Creative Cloud, with extensive and up‑to‑date experience in Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign, and some experience using Animate and After Effects or basic motion graphics skills. With the variety of projects we handle, you’ll be comfortable planning and prioritising your workload and meeting tight deadlines without losing sight of detail or quality.
You’ll bring enthusiasm, flexibility and a collaborative mindset, enjoying problem-solving and working with others to achieve shared goals. Strong communication skills are essential, as you’ll need to present ideas clearly, build trusted working relationships across teams and confidently brief and manage external agencies or suppliers. Experience advising on brand application will be a real advantage, as will a genuine passion for using creative work to make a positive difference.

How and where we work
Colleagues attend the office at least four days per month (pro rata for part-time colleagues) to collaborate, build relationships, and support projects and decision-making. You can choose where to work the rest of the time. Travel to the office is a commute, so we pay our own travel costs.
Additional in-person attendance will be required during your first few months for induction and training, to support you to learn the role and get to know colleagues.

As the Impact and Fundraising Manager, you will work hands on with our delivery team to design data collection systems that feel manageable and purposeful, not burdensome. You understand that different people think, process, and work in different ways, so you will create multiple methods for collecting the same data to suit different styles.
You take a methodical approach to understanding what data we need to showcase impact, then build the frameworks and provide the practical support to make collection happen across multiple methods. Role: To engage Chatham’s diverse communities in the heritage of St John’s Chatham. This role will be
responsible for working with local community groups to develop and deliver activities and programmes
to involve young people aged 14 – 24 years old, low income families, older adults over 55 years old,
homeless and vulnerably housed people and local schools as part of the major community programme
at St John’s Chatham.
Principal accountabilities
● Through engagement with local community groups create a programme that results in St John’s becoming a multipurpose space for the local community.
● Develop, manage and deliver community engagement projects to interpret the history of St John’s, based on research gathered by the Research & Development Consultant.
● Work with the Volunteer & Training Co-ordinator to explore the potential for a community based café that is used as a centre for the local community to meet and learn new skills and make new friends
● Work with local community organisations to create programmes that support the development of skills, such as budgeting, cooking, gardening, English as a second language etc
● Create and maintain an arts and crafts area within the café of St John’s that inspires people to respond to the heritage around them
● In collaboration with the Research Development Consultant identify potential speakers and deliver a programme of talks about the heritage of St John’s, Waterloo churches and Chatham.
● Develop a programme of events to test if there is a market for evening events at St John’s, including but not exclusively, concerts, silent discos, film showing
● Develop and deliver, in collaboration with local community partners a regular programme of events for different audiences

Strategic Leadership:
