We are seeking an experienced Communications Lead Officer who will be responsible for developing and delivering a strategic communications plan for the Diocese of St Davids and will shape and deliver a pro-active, strategic and mission-aligned communications function. Working closely with senior lay and clergy leaders, they will enhance the Diocese's visibility, strengthen stakeholder engagement, and ensure consistency of voice across all platforms.
This is a senior hands-on role requiring both creative, strategic leadership and operational delivery across digital and print media, and internal communications.

WHAT WE OFFER

About you
Working within the communications and marketing team, you'll be confident in managing our social media accounts (we have many), ensuring we're using platforms to get our messages out to both wide and targeted audiences with engaging and timely content.
You'll be happy using tools for social listening, interacting with our audiences and building our reach. You'll be familiar with key metrics for social engagement and will be reporting back to colleagues and other stakeholders - and using this data to constantly improve our communications.
You'll be skilled in writing longer form content for our members' magazine, Caring, proof reading articles, posting content on our websites, creating graphics and making sure our content is engaging, audience focused and dynamic. Oh, and you probably know your way around an emoji set and are not scared of a well timed pun. We're a small but effective communications team and pride ourselves on getting stuck in and supporting each other when we need to deliver big on fast moving projects, so you'll need be able to juggle lots of demands while recognising the importance of always hitting deadlines.

About you
Essential skills and experience:
- Proven experience of growing income through regional community engagement, ideally within a charity setting
- Either line management or substantial coaching/mentoring experience
- Experience of working with community leaders
- Experience and evidence of first-class relationship management techniques and donor care
- Experience of organising events, managing volunteers, risk assessments and health and safety requirements
- Track record of cross-team working with examples of impact, ideally this will include collaborating with corporate partnerships teams

Communications:

Serve as lead on alumni networking software (ASLConnects, a Graduway site)

Develop alumni content for ASL social media and online alumni platforms.

Partner with the Giving Manager to drive success and class engagement during Grade 12 class gift campaign drive each year

Work with the Web Editor to ensure that alumni pages of ASL website are up-to-date, relevant, and compelling

Design and occasionally send mass broadcast emails and invitations related to alumni and/or parents of alumni, in coordination with the Director of Development

In partnership with the Communications team, build monthly London Calling features on ASL (a Finalsite website), including news stories, in memoriam notes, and class notes

Handle daily alumni inbox communications, including processing web login and alumni portal access requests

Manage the Eagle mascot volunteers, and select student-facing events

Photograph alumni and parents of alumni groups and events

As requested, provide occasional copywriting and copy editing support to the rest of the Development team, including non–alumni specific projects

The Role
This is a hands-on role at the heart of the charity.
You will lead integrated digital, marketing and media activity to grow audiences, drive ticket sales, strengthen brand reputation and amplify our impact. You will play a central role in delivering the marketing and ticketing strategy for The Queen’s Reading Room Festival and other major events, ensuring we meet ambitious audience and revenue targets. You will help convert major media moments into sustained follower and email subscriber growth and be responsible for improving website journeys and sign-up performance, using analytics to drive action.
Alongside commercial growth, you will work closely with our Impact Manager, supporting them to craft compelling stories about the charity’s reach and outcomes — particularly across our growing grassroots partnerships — ensuring our communications clearly demonstrate meaningful and measurable social impact.

Key Responsibilities
Marketing & Audience Growth

Lead marketing strategy for The Queen’s Reading Room Festival and other major events, with clear audience and revenue objectives.

MAIN PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
The role of Marketing and Communications Coordinator is to provide support in ensuring the
local community is kept informed about Matrix and its projects, as well as engaged in

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES
External Communication
● In collaboration with the CEO, write, edit and coordinate the production and delivery of
all postal and electronic newsletters.
● Plan, prepare and coordinate communication with Matrix donors, supporter Churches
and the wider public.
● Create, plan and schedule posts across all Matrix social media channels.
● Develop original copy for social media platforms, websites, broadcast and printed

● In collaboration with the Data Coordinator, simplifying complex data into a user-friendly
format such as graphs, charts and other visual aids.
● Ensure Matrix team understand and use the correct branding for internal and external

Join us as a Public Affairs Officer to support the growth of our influencing and campaigning profile, helping to deliver high-impact content and campaigns that mobilise supporters, influence policy and raise awareness of issues that impact equine welfare in the UK and around the world.
About the role
As part of our Public Affairs team, you’ll lead on supporter content and digital communications, tailoring messages for different audiences to maximise reach and engagement. You’ll support research and report writing, monitor UK and EU policy developments, and track campaign performance to help shape future work. You’ll also play a key role in growing and engaging our supporter network—mobilising people to take action and strengthening our influence with decisionmakers.
This is a part-time role, working remotely for three days a week between 09:00 to 16:00. There is flexibility to discuss which days would suit you best, except for Wednesdays, which are required. You will be required to attend the charity’s head office located in Norfolk a minimum of 6 times per year and this will be at your own expense for travel and accommodation.
About you:
You’re a clear, confident communicator with experience writing for digital channels, using campaign technology and working collaboratively across teams. You build positive relationships with supporters and stakeholders and understand how campaigning can influence decision makers, supported by knowledge of UK and/or EU legislative frameworks. You’re organised and pro-active, able to manage multiple priorities and adapt quickly in a fast-moving environment. Analytical and research skills, an understanding of equines and the ability to speak another language are desirable.
