PIP works mainly in the Kensington & Chelsea and Westminster communities to support adults with learning disabilities and autism. Our focus is on teaching and learning life skills so those we work with self-identify as PiP students. Ranging in age from 18 to 92, our average student is around 34 years old.
PiP students have a range of learning disabilities including Down's Syndrome, Fragile X, Autism Spectrum Conditions (ASC), dual diagnosis with mental health problems and/or physical health conditions such as Diabetes and Epilepsy.

Role & Person Specification
As Chair your primary responsibilities will include:
- Chair meetings of the PIP Board of Trustees, providing leadership and support to the CEO including meeting regularly to discuss current issues
- Lead the board in the performance of their roles and scrutiny of PiP’s work
- Enable trustees to fully engage with their role, board sessions, and the organisation’s work
- Hold the CEO to account for the performance and financial sustainability of the charity and give appropriate support and challenge
- Oversee the strategic direction, financial management & performance of the organisation
- Provide leadership for the organisation
- Support in the income generation, communications, and community engagement of the organisation
- Lead on the appointment of trustees and CEO as required and ensure that posts receive appropriate induction, advice, training and information

Main Responsibilities:

To provide peer support at resilience group sessions for expectant and new mums (pregnancy up to 1 year) at Children & Family Centres across the London Borough of Bexley, or online via Zoom.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Successfully complete a training course for Mindful Mums Peer Support Volunteer. You will be fully supported during this time and on successful completion will understand different mindfulness, wellbeing, resilience and coping techniques and be confident in leading the peer support within these groups.
2. Prepare for and lead the peer support for a minimum of three Mindful Mums groups (over 5 consecutive weeks). Group dates and times will be discussed with you in advance.
3. Liaise with the Project Coordinator regarding sessions that need volunteers.

Peer support is about sharing your lived experience of mental health struggles with other people with the hope of providing, support, encouragement, and validation that you understand what they are going through, that they are not alone in their feelings and circumstance. We believe that peer support is an important part of the recovery journey, as it provides a space for support, shared understanding, helps reduce stigma and fosters motivation and hope.
We run several online peer support groups each month for people living with borderline personality disorder and are seeking compassionate and empathetic people to co-facilitate the groups. All groups are facilitated by two peer support workers, and follow a semi-structured pattern. Our groups include:

As a volunteer, you will receive comprehensive training, accessible online. We also provide ongoing supervision, support to ensure that you can effectively support others while prioritizing your own recovery. Person Specification
- lived experience of BPD, this may be:
- someone diagnosed with BPD
- living with symptoms of BPD but undiagnosed
- a carer/loved one of someone with BPD
- a mental health/social care professional with experience of working with people with BPD
- Access to a computer with reliable internet
- Computer literate to a good level (email, Teams, Office, etc)
- Able to be flexible and adaptable to project needs
- A 'can do' attitude!

It’s fantastic that you would like to find out more about volunteering at St Mungo’s. Would you like to provide vital support to vulnerable adults who need help translating important documents for whom English is not their first language? As a Language Translation Microvolunteer, you will be providing an extremely valuable service to our clients and staff; helping to translate important documents to increase the accessibility of our resources, as well as providing – if you are available when asked, language translation support via the phone. You will be helping people who have experienced homelessness, who may be experiencing addiction, mental health issues, physical or mental disabilities or who may be refugees, asylum seekers or have no recourse to public funds.

Could you inspire children from across Hestia’s domestic abuse refuges to get active? We are recruiting for a qualified Sport’s coach! Across the UK almost one million children are affected by domestic abuse every year.
Make a difference to the lives of the children in our refuges! We are recruiting volunteers to coordinate sport and fitness activities to support children and families get active, have fun, wiggle, jiggle and move together. Exercising helps strengthens bones and muscles, supports with mental wellbeing, increase self-confidence, self-esteem, and provides opportunities for children to make new friends, try out new sports, activities and learn new skills.
What you will be doing
- Coordinate a timetable of sports and active games to engage children after school
- General knowledge about wellbeing and how sport affects physical and mental health
- Support the children to maintain their physical health through exercise
- Support the children to learn/play and work as a team
- Plan activities or sports in collaboration with the children
- Keep a record of attendees, provide feedback, and report any concerns to the staff team
The skills you need
- A skilled and qualified sports coach/fitness instructor working with children
- Good communication skills
- Ability to provide a supportive, and inclusive atmosphere that encourages learning and participation
- Calm and patient approach
