Job description

The candidate:

You will be someone who has experience of providing excellent administrative support to teams. You are self-motivated and a great communicator. Experience of research grant funding will be a great advantage however, proven organisational skills, superb time management, a persuasive manner and a keen eye for detail will set you in good stead if you would like to transfer to this fascinating field of medical research.

Job description:

The Research Administrative Officer role reports to the CEO and under the guidance of the Research Trustee. They provide the vital administrative function to facilitate the smooth running of our annual medical research programme. This will involve supporting and organising meetings of Guts UK’s Research Awards Committee, the promotion and implementation of our research grant awards and receipt and management of all applications for research funding.

Working at Guts UK:

"I joined Guts UK Charity in 2021. I was embraced into the team and immediately felt welcome. One of the highlights to-date has been setting up our ‘Experts by Experience’ (EBE) panel – where the patient/carer has a voice in the research that Guts UK funds, assessing and discussing funding applications. The feedback we’ve received has been incredibly positive so far.

We are a team taking pride in all we do. This is not like any other organisation I have worked for. The future of Guts UK is a very exciting place to work" - Helen West, Patient Public Involvement & Engagement Officer.
