About the Role 

The role sits within the Communications, Engagement and Fundraising (CEF) directorate and reports to its director. The team serves the needs of the organisation by engaging a range of key audiences through various media channels, volunteer engagement, events and fundraising. The post holder will work in close collaboration with others across the organisation and will enjoy working in an innovative and creative environment.

You will lead the Fundraising team, including Supporter Care, in developing and implementing team plans and strategies to ensure long-term growth and delivering targets.

Working with the Director of Communications, Engagement & Fundraising, the Senior Fundraising Manager will deliver the organisational Fundraising strategy. This will include leading on all USPG fundraising streams including fundraising appeals, regular giving, legacy fundraising, major donors, church engagement, diocesan appeals, trust and foundations, grants and partnerships and any new fundraising products.

You will line manage the Individual Giving Manager and Fundraising Stewardship Manager, supporting their professional development to help achieve annual fundraising targets and objectives.

About You  

You will be responsible for delivering fundraising appeals, products and campaigns, ensuring that supporters go on a meaningful and experiential journey with USPG and become lifelong supporters. You are, therefore, a confident, passionate, organised and creative senior manager with the proven ability to motivate and inspire your team and USPG supporters.

You will bring energy and passion to this role and have the responsibility for delivering on time fundraising activity across the organisation. Your experience will bring our vital work to life in inspiring ways that increase engagement and individual giving, while ensuring that retention and acquisition strategies are in place, regularly reviewed, and continuously strengthened to grow the USPG supporter base. You will bring a freshness of ideas, whilst maintaining operational efficiency, quarterly reporting and inspirational leadership.

As Individual Giving Officer, you will plan and deliver compelling campaigns to engage with and drive action from existing supporters. 

You will work on a range of products in this crucial income stream including regular giving, cash and lottery.

Job Title: Individual Giving Manager Department: Income Generation and Partnership Development

Reports to: Director of Income Generation and Partnership Development

Hours: Full time, (part time and flexible arrangements considered)

Salary: £30k-£38k (pro-rata if part time and dependent on experience)

Contract: Fixed term for 2 years, potential to extend depending on funding

Location: Largely home based / with occasional visits to the Oxford office. Must be able to attend two all staff meetings in Oxford per annum 

Role purpose:

To develop and deliver an Earthwatch individual giving programme. The role will focus on identifying opportunities to engage supporters, implementing activities to cultivate, solicit, and steward donors, and increasing financial contributions from new and existing supporters. The role will also assist in the delivery of major donor cultivation events alongside senior staff. 

Key deliverables:

Strategy & Income Growth

• Develop and implement a multi-year individual giving strategy, including regular giving, one-off donations and legacy giving

• Set and monitor income and engagement targets, using data insights to refine and improve approaches. 

Campaigns & Appeals

• To project manage multiple appeals delivering accurate campaigns across digital, print, and telephone on time, to inspire and convert supporters, on budget to a high standard and meeting agreed targets.

• To manage the relationship with external fundraising agencies, ensuring they are briefed and provided with the information they need.

• Collaborate with the communications team to ensure campaigns align with brand and messaging guidelines.

• Undertaking all activities in line with best practice standards and processes as set out by the Institute of Fundraising, Fundraising Regulator and any other bodies as prompted by the Director. 

Donor Engagement & Stewardship

• Deliver high-quality donor communications, including impact reports, appeals, and tailored updates.

• Support donor journeys that build loyalty and increase lifetime value through a range of fundraising products

• Attend events as required to meet donors.

Data Management & Reporting

• Ensure all materials produced are accurate and compliant with relevant data protection and gift aid legislation (where applicable).

• Use the database to track donor engagement and manage contact strategies.

• Produce reports and analysis on giving trends, campaign performance, and donor behaviour to inform decision-making.

Collaboration & Support

• Work closely with colleagues across Income Generation, Communications, Programmes, and senior leadership to maximise donor opportunities and engagement.

In undertaking these roles, the postholder should also have regard to: -

• Acting as an ambassador for the work, vision and values of Earthwatch Europe.

• Ensuring continuous development of skills and knowledge required for the post, undergoing training and performance review as required.

About this role: 

The Product Support Specialist will play a key role in supporting the day-to-day operation, improvement, and effective use of NFCC’s digital platforms and services. Working within the Digital Transformation team, the postholder will act as a central point of coordination for business-as-usual support, helping to manage incoming queries, triage issues, maintain accurate records, and ensure that requests are responded to in a timely and structured way. 

The role will work closely with the Senior Project Manager, Business Analyst, stakeholders, suppliers, and colleagues across the wider Data, Digital and Technology team to support the smooth running and ongoing improvement of NFCC’s digital products, including the website and other core platforms. This includes translating issues and requirements into clear tickets or briefs, supporting Agile ways of working, contributing to sprint and release activity, producing user guidance and training materials, supporting workshops where required, and helping to ensure that systems remain effective, user-focused, and aligned with organisational and fire sector needs. 

What we are looking for: 

We are looking for someone who is organised, proactive, digitally confident, and able to balance routine support activity with coordination across multiple systems and stakeholders. You will need to be comfortable handling queries, assessing issues, working with suppliers, and keeping accurate records, while also contributing to continuous improvement across our digital services. 

The successful candidate will be expected to quickly build strong working knowledge of NFCC’s digital platforms and use this to support users, coordinate activity, and help improve the effectiveness of our systems and services.

What You’ll Bring: 

• Experience supporting digital platforms such as websites, content management systems, CRMs, or community platforms (WordPress highly desirable).
• Experience working in a digital, product, platform, or business support role within a technology, digital delivery, or systems-based environment. 
• Strong day-to-day support skills for digital platforms, including responding to queries, triaging issues, coordinating actions, and maintaining high standards of user support. 
• Experience working with internal teams and external technical suppliers to progress issues and resolve defects or enhancement requests. 
• Ability to assess issues, use sound judgement, and decide when matters can be resolved directly or escalated appropriately. 
• Ability to translate user needs or problems into clear, concise tickets, briefs, or actions for technical teams. 
• Confidence supporting or leading workshops where required to gather information, clarify issues, and help progress support or improvement activity. 
• Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities, handle reactive tasks, and maintain accurate support logs or trackers. 
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with confidence engaging both technical and non-technical audiences. 
• Good digital confidence and the ability to quickly learn systems, processes, and user journeys. 
• Experience using ticketing or workflow tools, such as Monday . com, Microsoft Planner, or similar platforms. 
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and collaboration tools (SharePoint, Teams).
• Familiarity with Agile or sprint-based working environments. 
• Experience of producing basic platform or website reporting, including use of tools such as Google Analytics, would be an advantage.

Business Manager

Location: Kendal, Cumbria (with regular travel across Cumbria and to our site in Carlilse)

Salary: £42,830 per annum, plus 9% pension contribution.

Duration: Full-time (35 hrs per week) fixed term for 3 years (with possibility of extension).

The role offers a unique opportunity to lead the business development and management of the Trust’s consultancy (Cumbria Wildlife Consulting (CWC)) and commercial plant nursery, ensuring they together provide a high-quality integrated service, meet financial targets, and align with the Trust's mission to protect and restore Cumbria’s natural environment, and inspire action. 

Since 2023, the Trust has run a semi-commercial nursery at its Gosling Sike site near Carlisle, providing local provenance, peat-free plug plants for use in our projects, but also selling to partner organisations. The Trust has recently secured funding to expand its operation, increasing capacity and enabling more efficient production.  

In addition to the above, the role will also build new, high-value strategic partnerships and business relationships with a focus on identifying and developing new business opportunities within the nature economy.

What we are looking for:

An individual who is enthusiastic and passionate about delivering nature’s recovery in Cumbria, but who is also business-minded with a proven track record of working in a commercial environment. They should possess the relevant skills, experience and confidence to grow new business ventures, taking them to the next stage. Applicants should be self-motivated, organised and have experience of leading teams both remotely and in person. A full driving licence and access to a car with business use insurance are desirable.
