Job description

The MND Association have an exciting opportunity for a home-based Policy & Public Affairs Manager to join our Policy & Campaigns Team working in Wales.

Salary: c. £32,000 per annum FTE (pro rata £24,000 pa) + benefits

Location: Home based in region (Wales)

Hours: Part-time 28 hours per week

Contract Type: Permanent

About the role

You will be responsible for leading the planning, co-ordination and implementation of the Association's campaigning, public affairs and policy activities across Wales. The key purpose of the role is influence Welsh government, identify, research and develop policy positions on a range of issues important to people with MND, their carers and families in Wales and actively support our campaigning volunteers in Wales.

What are we looking for?

You will:

    • have a good understanding of the political system in Wales
    • be experienced in outcome-focused research and policy analysis/development in Wales
    • be able to plan and deliver campaigns and public affairs programmes
    • have excellent communications skills with the ability to influence and negotiate, both verbally and written
    • have the ability to build good relationships across all networks and stakeholders
    • be able to speak Welsh or have a willingness to learn

This role will involve occasional evening and weekend work, regular travel to the Welsh Assembly in Cardiff. and some travel our offices in London and Northampton.
