About this role

SPANA is investing in its Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning (MEAL) function. We have established an independent MEAL team within the Global Programmes Directorate (GPD), led by a Head of Data Insights and MEAL. The MEAL team plays a critical role in ensuring that SPANA’s programmes are effective, responsive and continuously progressing to improve the welfare of working animals globally. The MEAL team works closely with SPANA partners based in different countries and with SPANA colleagues across departments.

Reporting to the MEAL Manager, the Data Management Officer is a key role in SPANA’s MEAL team. The role oversees the full data cycle, including supporting partners with consistent data collection, improving data quality assurance, maintaining data systems, setting standards, co-ordinating consolidation of programme data and producing clear analysis and visualisation. The role contributes directly to better use of evidence in programme design, learning and accountability across the organisation.

Contract, location and salary

This is a full-time (34.5 hour per week), permanent role based in the UK. SPANA works on a hybrid basis, and staff come into our office in London for approximately 1-2 days per month (or more if preferred).

About the Role

We're looking for a compassionate and driven Service Manager to join our residential service based in Havering. This role supports residents in temporary housing who are facing challenges with substance use. As a Service Manager, you’ll lead a dedicated team, making sure we deliver high quality support, performance and improvements across our service whilst representing values of the organisation. You'll play a hands on role in supporting individuals facing addiction, homelessness, and complex needs guiding them towards stability, independence, and brighter futures.

The service focuses on providing a 24 hour, 25 bed accommodation service to residents who are deemed to be high risk. They support those who are experiencing homelessness. All admissions are jointly agreed, and placements reviewed at a weekly Complex Needs Panel chaired by the local authority. Residents are agreed on the basis that they are:

• Overseeing support related to substance misuse, ensuring effective interventions and pathways for service users
• Line Management and Leadership, supporting your team providing advice, guidance and support throughout their employment lifecycle

About the Role 

This role will lead Media Trust’s climate work. As Senior Programme Manager, you will run our flagship Communicating Climate programme and lead Media Trust’s work on the Diverse Voices programme. You will help us further develop our climate work and ensure our existing programmes are cutting edge and meet the demands of this moment.

This role will directly manage our Communicating Climate programme. The Senior Programme Manager will build on the success of the past five years of the programme and further develop the programme content and structure to maximise impact for participating organisations. With support from a programme co-ordinator, you will ensure the smooth delivery of the programme, including recruiting and managing a cohort of climate organisations; overseeing the budget and timeline; managing our relationships with funders, trainers and partners; and impact evaluation and reporting.

You will also oversee our role in the Diverse Voices programme, which works to amplify the voices of people and communities most impacted by climate change. The programme is run by a consortium of organisations, including Race Equality Foundation, Turn2Us and Disability Rights UK. Media Trust is the media partner, delivering communications-related training and support to the participants. 

Your line manager will be Media Trust’s Head of Charity Services and the role will sit within our charity services team. This Senior Programme Manager role does not currently have any direct line management responsibilities. 

Please note that whilst this is a remote role, the Media Trust team meets in-person in London on a monthly basis and regular travel to London for meetings and events is required. 

Key Responsibilities 

Programme Management of our climate programmes, including: 

• Lead our Communicating Climate programme, ensuring it is high quality, innovative and tailored to the needs and priorities of climate and environmental organisations 

• Recruit and build successive new cohorts of climate charities, user-led organisations and community groups, supporting them through the programme to ensure high levels of engagement and collaboration 

• Recruit and work with trainers and climate experts to develop engaging, practical and tailored training content, activities and resources 

• Plan and ensure the smooth delivery of all activities (including training, workshops, peer to peer networking sessions and other events), ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget and lead to planned outcomes 

• Work with Media Trust’s media and creative industry partners to develop tailored training, mentoring and digital resources for the climate and environment sector 

• Manage the Advisory Group for Communicating Climate, which is comprised of leading media organisations, climate charities and sector experts, coordinating regular meetings, building relationships with members and facilitating opportunities for the Advisory Group to shape and input into the direction of the programme 

• Manage relationships with our key programme and sector partners including Climate Outreach, Heard and others, build relationships with a wide range of sector organisations

• Work with media industry partners to design and deliver activities for volunteers from leading media and creative agencies to provide pro bono strategic communications support to climate charities

• Manage the programme budget and financial reporting 

• Lead on the monitoring, evaluation and reporting of the programme, ensuring impact is evidenced by high quality data and producing impact reports 

• Maintain up to date knowledge of trends and developments in the climate and strategic communications space and embed these insights into the programme content 

Other work across our team and programmes 

• Identify new opportunities for climate work for Media Trust 

• Share key learnings and best practice across our thematic programmes (our other thematic programme is the Stronger Voices Programme).

• Support the Head of Charity Services with securing grant and other funding for new thematic strategic communications programmes and climate work, contributing to the development of future programmes and funding applications 

• Collaborate with our MarComms team to craft compelling copy for various platforms including web, e-marketing, and social media channels

The need for Cavell has never been greater, and the charity is at its most critical point in its 108-year history as the demand for support is at an all-time high. Cavell is evolving their support offer to offer a Wellbeing Conversations service on a 12-month pilot aiming to help nursing and midwifery professionals to navigate feelings of stress, overwhelm or uncertainty.

The Role

We are looking for a compassionate, non-judgemental and empathetic individual who is experienced at supporting individuals in a Wellbeing role to co-deliver the Wellbeing Conversations Service. The successful candidate will use a blend of reflective listening, coaching-style questions, practical guidance and signposting to help nursing and midwifery professionals explore their stress, develop healthy coping mechanisms and empower them to address personal and work factors which are contributing to their stress.

This position operates as a job-share, and we are looking for someone to join the existing postholder in delivering the role.

Key Responsibilities:

Service Delivery:

• Deliver Cavell’s Wellbeing Conversations service including conducting triage calls and delivering virtual Wellbeing sessions ensuring high-quality delivery, consistency, and responsiveness to demand.
• Ensure exceptional record keeping, ensuring that all relevant data protection and privacy legislation is adhered to.
• Undertake administrative duties to support the delivery of the service, including data entry.

Records Manager & Archivist

The duties within this unique role will be shared across the main London offices of the Methodist Church in Britain and United Reformed Church. The successful candidate will be a suitably qualified and experienced records and archives management professional, who is confident to work across our different sites and systems. You will be a knowledgeable manager of analogue and digital records and archives.  Some familiarity with Church structures and record keeping would be an advantage.

You will need to be able to advise the staff teams for both Churches on records management strategy and practice and support them in the implementation of electronic records management systems (ERMS). You will also be able to undertake collections management tasks such as appraisal, condition assessments, basic cleaning and re-packaging and cataloguing.

You will need to be able to liaise effectively with the archive services where our collections are deposited, and work with our voluntary heritage committees and archival advisers. You will be encouraged to appoint and manage volunteers to build capacity around this work.

The Methodist Church has records from the early 18th century onwards. Its governance records (estimated at c4m items) are deposited in the John Rylands Research Institute & Library, University of Manchester, and its missionary collections in the SOAS Library, University of London.  Records of the Church at a local level are deposited with local authority archive services.  There are also five ‘community archives’ managed by volunteer editors. 

The United Reformed Church was established in 1972, with its roots in the Presbyterian and Congregational Churches. The search for a new location for the centralised deposit and permanent preservation of URC records is a key objective for this post-holder, along with developing and supporting the management of current administrative records. 

Both organisations maintain offsite record storage and occasional travel to them will be a necessary part of this role.

Working together

You’ll regularly be working with:

Skills and characteristics

We are looking for an independent worker with design skills, who is a great problem solver and is motivated to find an elegant solution, whatever the issue.

Design

You’ll be producing the designs that go to our lead programmer, and which he’ll use as the basis for his work. You should have experience with UX design, and we can accommodate whichever application you prefer to work with, eg Figma or Sketch.

We’ve developed and plan to keep developing a large range of tools on the platform, like:

• Quizzes

• Tools to make large banks of information easy to search and understand

• Tools to simplify complex workflows

• Integrations with other platforms

• Document creation that involves input from multiple people

• Data visualisation

The problems we come up against can involve:

• Different users handling the same processes in different ways from each other

• Different groups of users having competing wants

• A data provider changing the way they structure their data

• Users not completing an important action on the platform

• A change on one tool having a knock-on effect on several other tools

• Users expressing their needs and ideas in uncertain or ambiguous ways
   

Your challenge is to design concrete solutions that work for everyone, which are as simple as possible to implement, and which are immediately understandable by a user who’s never seen them before.

Independence and initiative
 

You will work closely with Unifrog’s two co-founders. While colleagues from the wider team will be involved in coming up with ideas and telling you what they need, you will be the only team member, apart from the co-founders, in the product development team.

Because Unifrog’s co-founders work remotely and are also involved in other areas of the business, this will require you to be a good independent worker:
 

• Able to plan a project and stick to timelines, even when you need to get input from other team members

• Confident to come up with your own ideas, sort out good ideas from less useful ones, and make decisions based on information you’ve researched or been given by other team members

You will need to communicate what development work is happening to the rest of the Unifrog team, and you’ll need to help your colleagues find the best way to tell users about it in turn.

Finally, you will need to be able to adapt your communication style depending on the person you are communicating with, including our lead programmer, other Unifrog team members, or partners and users.

The Role

This role will play a crucial part in supporting a wide range of fundraising, marketing, and communications activities for Cosmic. As a key member of the Income Generation team, the individual will help raise vital funds and awareness that enable and enhance the charity’s work, whilst also contributing to the delivery of effective marketing and communications that promote our impact and engage our audiences.

This role requires someone with a genuine interest in working across multiple fundraising areas — from corporate partnerships and community fundraising to individual giving, events and challenges, trusts and foundations, event support for Cosmic led events, and in-memory and legacy giving. You will bring strong organisational, communication, and creative skills to support activity across these streams. In addition, you will collaborate with the Marketing and Communications Manager to develop engaging social media content, enhance brand visibility, and contribute to impactful digital and supporter communications across all of Cosmic’s channels.

This varied and dynamic role will include research, administration, planning, content creation, and creative thinking. You will support the delivery of fundraising activities, events, initiatives, and campaigns, as well as contribute to marketing efforts such as social media, email newsletters, website updates, and storytelling. A key part of the role will be ensuring our supporters, donors, and online audiences receive high-quality, consistent, and engaging communications. With the wider team’s support, the role will also aid the growth of new corporate partnerships.

Key Responsibilities

1. Fundraising and income generation support

• Working alongside and supporting members of the Income Generation team, gaining a better understanding of the various fundraising and income generation activities.
• Be a key contact for fundraising enquiries.
• Collation and sending of information, including fundraising materials, to potential and current supporters and advising on queries relating to fundraising.
• Support the organisation, planning, promotion, and delivery of fundraising, stewardship and other events.
• Ensure that all fundraising activity operates with the Fundraising Regulator’s guidelines, code of practice and GDPR practices.
• Identify and support opportunities to raise awareness of the charity including giving presentations, attending meetings and local events.
• Aid the growth of individual giving programmes, including regular giving, one-off donations, and donor stewardship journeys.
• Assist in researching, writing, and submitting grant applications to trusts, foundations, and statutory funders.

• Support the administration and logistics for fundraising events, including volunteer coordination and post-event evaluation.

2. Marketing and communications responsibilities

• Create engaging content for social media, newsletters, the website, and campaign materials to raise awareness of the charity’s work.
• Social media content capture and uploading of activities at all Cosmic led events onto all relevant channels.
• Coordinate social media channels, scheduling posts, monitoring engagement, and identifying opportunities for growth.
• Support marketing campaigns for fundraising events, appeals, and awareness initiatives.
• Work with the Marketing and Communications Manager to ensure brand consistency across all supporter-facing materials.
• Gather stories, quotes and visuals from beneficiaries, supporters, and partner organisations (with appropriate permissions) to promote activities and support to Cosmic.

3. Cross-team and administrative responsibilities

• Work closely with the Senior Fundraising Executive, and wider Income Generation team to ensure smooth coordination between fundraising and marketing activities.
• Liaise with clinical partners, hospital staff, and external stakeholders to gather information that supports fundraising and communications content.
• Support the implementation of internal processes for campaign planning, supporter stewardship, and content production.
• Attend events, meetings, and training sessions as needed to represent the charity.
• Provide general administrative support to the fundraising and marketing functions including processing donations, handling enquiries, and maintaining shared resources.
• Contribute ideas and feedback to help refine and develop the charity’s fundraising and marketing approach.
• Audit the inventory of all materials necessary for both events and volunteering.
• Sending thank you letters to supporters in a timely manner.
• Spending time meeting with families and staff on the units, using this time as an opportunity to build positive relationships. Supporting the Service Delivery team with massage days for the clinical staff and other key events such as World Prematurity Day and other ad hoc and seasonal activities.
• The role is incredibly varied, and no two days are the same.

Job Title:  Development Manager

Location:  London

Reports to:  Chief Executive Officer

Job Summary

The Development Manager will be a dynamic and experienced fundraiser with strong technical skills in grant and funding solicitation, management and stewardship across Crisis Action’s current donor targets including major foundations, governments, and High Net Wealth Individuals (HNWI). They will serve as the anchor of a newly configured fundraising team designed to support Crisis Action to nurture its existing donors and secure the next generation of support for its ground-breaking work.

This role is pivotal in ensuring excellence in our outreach, proposals, reporting and communication to drive resource mobilisation that is essential for the organisation’s financial sustainability at a time when our distinct model and way of working is needed more than ever.

Principal responsibilities

Donor engagement and communications 

• Oversee and coordinate day-to-day engagement with current and prospective foundation, government and individual donors by members of the Crisis Action team
• Represent the organisation vis-à-vis donor representatives 
• Support HNWI donor benefits structure and cultivation plans
• Prepare compelling and timely donor reports, donor updates, letters of receipt and other outreach materials in collaboration with finance and campaign teams.

Grant management and oversight 

• Ensuring timely and skilled drafting, consultation and sign off of high-quality grant proposals 
• Timely acknowledgement of all contributions and compliance with donor requirements
• Preparation of high-quality proposal budgets and financial reports for donors in compliance with grant specifications and deadlines, in close cooperation with the Finance Team
• Review all grant agreements and monitor/ensure the organization's adherence to its contractual commitments. 

Strategic vision and guidance: 

• Provide strategic support to the Chief Executive Officer on short- and long-term fundraising strategies and broader resource mobilisation initiatives to ensure our fundraising strategy and its implementation helps achieve organisational goals
• Set fundraising targets and produce periodic funding forecasts in consultation with members of the team.

Research and intelligence: 

• Carry out donor research and provide strategic insights and donor related updates and background information to relevant colleagues.
• Monitor and ensure a solid pipeline of donor prospects

Team coordination and collaboration 

• Ensure that there is a clear workplan that anticipates what has to happen when to guide team resource allocation and workload management
• Ensure effective and efficient processes of gathering and sharing information across the team to support timely donor engagement and stewardship with clear protocols on the cadence of team calls and written updates 
• Support colleagues to adhere to agreed fundraising roles and responsibilities 

Communications 

• Ensuring effective and timely communications to donors, Crisis Action’s board and team 
• In collaboration with the CEO, ensure timely and regular flow of information to the team on fundraising progress
• Timely production of high-quality fundraising updates for our Board 

Data and Systems Management 

• Sustain, manage and where possible further develop the relevant administrative infrastructure, including grant tracking and reporting systems, Salesforce contact database, events calendars, contact lists, donor profiles, website and annual report donor acknowledgement lists and meeting minutes 

Job Specifications 

Essential Skills & Experience

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in fundraising, donor relations, or development within the non-profit or international advocacy sector
• A proven track record of engaging with foundations and government officials to secure and manage grants
• Demonstrated ability to forge new donor partnerships, and a track record of bringing in new revenue
• Strong understanding of government and foundation funding landscapes with at least some familiarity with differences between them and the stewardship of major gifts from individual giving 
• Experience in drafting compelling fundraising proposals, reports and donor updates for a variety of donors – foundations, governments and individuals 
• Strong all-round communication and storytelling skills
• Experience producing a range of communications materials for different audiences
• Strategic thinker with the ability to translate organisational goals into actionable fundraising plans
• Proficiency in CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce) and grant management tools
• Ability to work collaboratively across teams and cultures with colleagues dispersed across the world
• Financial literacy and a proven ability to understand and construct budgets
• Collaborative and empathetic approach to team and donor engagement 
• Enthusiasm, initiative and willingness to learn
• Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines 
• Excellent organisational and administrative skills, including a systematic approach to maintaining donor tracking systems
• Fluency in oral and written English 
• Proficiency in Salesforce and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Ability/willingness to travel to staff retreats and for donor visits.

Salary & Benefits 

Salary: We have set bands for the salary range for all positions at Crisis Action. The baseline of our salary range for this position is £40K per annum. 

Benefits: 25 annual leave days (30 days after 3 years). Up to 6% contribution to pension. 3-month long service leave after 6 years and one-month sabbatical leave in year 10. CA additionally offers an annual inflationary increase, and 2% salary increase in year 2, 4 and 8 subject to availability of funds.
