Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role as a Volunteer Walk Leader at Walkie Dogs. As a Volunteer Walk Leader, you will be responsible for organising and leading dog walks for our social group. Your day-to-day tasks will include coordinating meet-up locations, ensuring the safety and well-being of participants and their dogs, providing guidance and support during walks, and fostering a positive and inclusive atmosphere within the group.
Qualifications
- Experience leading group activities and events

Age restrictions - 14+
Our charity shops rely on generous donations made by the public to raise crucial funds for Marie Curie. From clothes, homeware and books, to CDs and DVDs, we sell a wide variety of products.
We are looking for volunteers to help us sort through all these donations, pick out the best items and prepare and sell them to our customers. Without the help of our dedicated volunteers we could not provide our customers with high quality items at affordable prices. This allows us to raise funds so our nurses can continue to provide care to terminally ill people and support for their families.
Your role will include some of, but is not restricted to, the following tasks:
- Sort through donations, being aware of the possibility of a hidden gem and better quality brands
- Prepare items for sale by checking, hanging, steaming, sizing and pricing them
- Work on the shop floor and provide excellent customer service to our shoppers
- Operate the till
- Help out with basic housekeeping to keep the shop clean and tidy
In the online application we only need your basic information (name, address, phone number and email address), an emergency contact and 2 references.

Our retail stores are the face of our charity on the high-street and in local communities. We have loads of amazing stock donated to us every week, and this all needs to be sorted, tagged and put on the shop-floor for sale!
Making sure our shops look fantastic is another task you can get involved with. You may also be required to help out on the till too, but we will show you how that works during your time volunteering with us. We value the contribution of everyone who supports Barnardo’s.

At the moment, we are particularly looking for volunteers for Monday and Tuesday mornings, and Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday afternoons. However if you have a different availability please do still apply as this can be discussed with the store manager.
