Shannon Trust fulfils an unmet need around adult learning, supporting people who’ve fallen through the cracks in formal education.

We know a lot of people have had negative learning experiences in the past, so our programme is designed to be different, with no exams and no classrooms. Our unique, evidence-based Turning Pages reading manuals and Count Me In numeracy manuals are used by thousands of learners in prisons and the community to improve reading and numeracy skills. 

Prison volunteers live near to their local prison so that they can visit about once a month during the working week to nurture the growth of the Shannon Trust in their prison. They help unlock the power of reading by offering advice, guidance, training and support to prison staff and prisoner mentors who help other prisoners to improve their skills 1 to 1.

We are looking for volunteers who are able to give a regular, reliable commitment for ideally two years and able to deliver engaging training to groups of people in prisons. Volunteers do not need to be teachers or qualified traininers, full training will be given. Due to the nature of the role, prison security vetting will be required.

We provide training for the role via e-learning and 4 training sessions which are a mix of live, online and group training.

RSPCA Milton Keynes & North Bucks

About the RSPCA

Founded in 1824 we have been saving animals for almost 200 years and are proud to be the oldest welfare charity around. It has always been our vision to live in a world where all animals are respected and treated with compassion, so our volunteers and employees work tirelessly to ensure that all animals can live free from pain and suffering.

Our Charity Shop in New Bradwell, Milton Keynes

Our shops play an essential role in raising the profile of the RSPCA in our local community and funds for our branch so that we can continue our vital animal welfare work. Our shops sell a mixture of donated items, including clothes, books, bric-a-brac and collectables, and a selection of new items.

Volunteer Vinted Coordinator responsibilities

• Researching and listing the items for sale in our dedicated Vinted store.
• A picture is worth 1,000 words so ensuring that attractive photographs are taken to boost Vinted sales.
• Packaging items appropriately before posting them to the buyer.
• Maintaining accurate records of listed and sold items.

What we are looking for in a volunteer Vinted Coordinator:

• Basic knowledge of Vinted and online selling platforms
• Good organisational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to take clear photographs and write accurate descriptions
• Basic computer skills, including familiarity with email and online payment systems
• Good communication skills and a friendly, helpful attitude
• Someone who is flexible and can offer an ongoing commitment

About us

We are a small charity based in Whitby with big ambitions! We run a lobster hatchery based in the old fish market on the main pier in Whitby.

The core purposes of the charity are

To protect and enhance marine biodiversity within the North Sea. By doing this, we will support sustainable fishing within the North Sea and promote marine conservation through research, education and conservation work.

Charitable Objects

· To help balance the marine life of the North Sea through research, education, and conservation work.

· To help protect the marine and fisheries heritage of Whitby through sustainable fishing practices.

This will be achieved through:

· Monitoring and managing marine life across the North Sea, intervening with management programmes where required.

· Using research to deliver and influence policy.

What will you be doing?

We need business professionals with expertise in the following areas who can help us achieve some of our aims:

· HR: we have 3 employees and about 12 volunteers. 

· Treasurer

· Raising funds, including grant applications: we usually run 3 or 4 fundraising events each year, and need to get about £50,000 a year from grants. Most of our grants come from small applications, so we need to maximise the number of applications to make the charity more sustainable.

· As well as contributing your business experience, you will share in the collective governance duties of trustees.

We also need trustees who bring other skills to board such as:

· Financial management

· Fundraising events

· Fundraising bid writing/ research

· Governance

· Strategic development and planning

Where?

· Meetings are held in Whitby, so local to the charity is best. We may be able to facilitate online meetings for the right candidate

We are seeking a Volunteer Head of Sales to help drive our growth across Essex and Suffolk by building relationships with schools and youth organisations.

This role is ideal for someone with experience or interest in:

• Relationship-based selling

You will work closely with the Founder & CEO to help generate leads, book meetings, and support revenue growth.

Key Responsibilities:

• Identify and research potential clients (secondary schools, youth organisations, local authorities)
• Build and maintain a simple sales pipeline (CRM or spreadsheet)
• Conduct initial outreach via email and phone
• Book discovery calls and meetings for the Founder
• Follow up on warm leads and past contacts
• Help refine sales processes and outreach strategies
• Track outcomes and report progress weekly

Founded in 2013, Release Counselling and Therapy for Women is a charity that has supported the mental health of thousands of women across Sussex.

Over the last decade, we have developed a skilled and experienced therapy team, who offer a range of services to help women address the issues life throws at them.

Our support is unique as everything we do is created and led by qualified counsellors, and we have become best known for our Therapeutic Groups and Wellbeing Days for mums.  We also run a 1:1 counselling service for women, supporting them through those other challenges in life and are in the process of setting up couples counselling.

We are looking for qualified female counsellors or CBT therapists to provide 1-1 or couples therapy online and to deliver weekly sessions for up to 18 weeks for 50 minutes.

For counsellors/CBT therapists offering over 3 client sessions per week, we can arrange a free monthly peer supervision group.

What are we looking for?
We are looking for a volunteer who:

Deliver counselling sessions via our online system Cliniko.
Write factual client notes that are stored within Cliniko.
Raise any safeguarding issues with the Clinical Lead.
Skills

Please note we do not have a student counselling placement as all of our counsellors are qualified.

Qualified counsellor/CBT therapist at a minimum of level 4 from one of the below-accredited organisations
Registered practitioner with BACP, UKCP, BABCP, BPS or HCPC
Current DBS check or willing to have one carried out
Experience of safeguarding procedures
Experience working with female clients with a range of issues

Senior Fundraising Manager 

Purpose:
To design, lead, and oversee a powerful multi-channel fundraising strategy that supports the CIC’s mission, volunteer expansion, and community-impact programs.

Key Tasks:

• Develop and execute a high-level fundraising strategy across individual giving, corporate partnerships, grants, community fundraising, and online campaigns
