We are seeking a dynamic Head of Housing Support to lead our national Housing Support Services, ensuring clients receive exceptional, trauma‑informed care in safe, compliant and high‑quality homes. This is a pivotal role that influences service delivery, operational performance, and the long‑term vision for Life’s housing provision.

As Head of Housing Support, you will:

Lead & Inspire

• Provide strategic leadership for Housing Support Services across the UK.
• Manage and motivate Support Services Managers and Tenancy Sustainment Officers to deliver outstanding client‑focused support.
• Embed a culture of collaboration, high performance and trauma‑informed practice.

Drive Operational Excellence

• Oversee the implementation of the Housing Strategy, ensuring the safety, compliance and quality of all homes.
• Work closely with the Estates Team to maintain high housing standards and meet regulatory obligations.
• Oversee tenancy management, rent setting, arrears management and income recovery.

Shape the Future

• Influence policy, develop best‑practice procedures and contribute to organisational strategy.
• Build strong partnerships with local authorities, housing developers and external stakeholders.
• Represent Life at networking events and act as an ambassador for the charity.

Lead with Purpose

• Champion safeguarding, ensuring training, oversight and adherence to all safeguarding policies.
• Produce reports and KPIs for the Board, Senior Leadership Team and Operational Leadership Team.
• Support the financial sustainability of the Housing department, including budget management and cost‑saving initiatives.

About You

We’re looking for someone who is:

• Highly organised, strategic, creative and able to work under pressure.
• Passionate about trauma‑informed practice and delivering outstanding client outcomes.

Relevant housing or management qualifications (such as CIH Level 4) are desirable but not essential with strong experience.

APB exists to support Religious Order Bursars (and others) involved in the management of their charities. A vacancy in the post of General Secretary will arise later this year due to the retirement of the current post holder.

The General Secretary is responsible for the day-to-day administration and management of the Association which has over 200 members. The General Secretary ensures the APB website is kept up to date and useful resources are available to support members in their work. Each year an annual conference is held over either 3 or 4 days, and the General Secretary is responsible for the organisation of this. 

This is a home-based position that will require attendance at in person meetings from time to time and at the 3 or 4-day annual conference each October.

The post holder will need to be flexible and have a good knowledge of Microsoft office including excel, good administrative skills and an approachable manner as the key link for members. General knowledge of finance and accounts would be an advantage.

As Registered Manager, you will be responsible for the day to day operational management of Deafblind UKs Independent Living/Domiciliary care Services, and community communicator guide support.

That means:

• Lead the day-to-day management of domiciliary care, independent living, and communicator guide services
• Deliver high-quality, person-centred support that promotes independence and positive outcomes
• Manage and develop Care Coordinators, Team Leaders, and support staff to drive performance
• Ensure full compliance with Care Quality Commission standards, including inspections, audits, and reporting
• Build and maintain strong relationships with local authorities, health professionals, and stakeholders
• Oversee care planning, reviews, and service delivery in line with individual needs and outcomes
• Manage service budgets, rotas, and resource allocation effectively
• Lead recruitment, induction, supervision, and ongoing development of staff teams
• Promote a positive, open culture with a focus on quality, safeguarding, and continuous improvement
• Monitor performance, manage risk, and implement improvement plans where required
• Ensure safe practices across all services, including medication, safeguarding, and health & safety
• Act as an ambassador for Deafblind UK, supporting service growth and development
• Participate in on-call duties and work flexibly to meet service needsI

About you

You will need to have solid previous experience as a Registered Manager with CQC, along with:

• Experienced in supported living or regulated care
• Comfortable leading teams and juggling rotas
• Familiar with CQC regulations and compliance
• A natural communicator who can build strong relationships
• Level 5 Leadership & Management (or equivalent) or working towards
