About us
Who we are
Disability Law Service (DLS) is a Deaf and Disabled People's Organisation and legal charity based in London, founded on the belief that Deaf and Disabled people should have the same access to rights, justice, and opportunity as everyone else.
We provide free, specialist legal advice, casework and representation to Deaf and Disabled people, as well as their families and carers. Our work covers welfare benefits, employment, housing, community care, discrimination and public law. We are here to help people understand their rights and get access to them.
But our role doesn’t stop at individual cases. Every day, we see how legal policies and public systems create barriers for Deaf and Disabled people. We work to remove these barriers, using frontline casework to influence policy and push for lasting change.
Our culture and values
Our vision is to work towards an equitable and accessible society, eliminating discrimination and ensuring that the rights of Deaf and Disabled people, their carers, and families are upheld.
