About us

Who we are

Project 21 is a growing charity supporting people with Down’s Syndrome and their families across Suffolk, Essex and Cambridgeshire.

We provide a wide range of opportunities and support, including weekday provision, weekend groups, social groups and events, residential trips, performing arts, community-based learning, supported employment and work placements.

Alongside our member activities, we support families to navigate social care, funding and support, working closely with local authorities, education providers and other professionals to help members access the opportunities and support they need.

Everything we do is focused on helping people with Down’s Syndrome develop independence, build friendships, learn new skills, express themselves and lead full, meaningful and connected lives.

Belong. Believe. Achieve.

Our culture and values

Project 21 is a friendly, ambitious and inclusive organisation where people are at the heart of everything we do.

Our culture is built around our values: Belong. Believe. Achieve. We believe in creating an environment where members and colleagues feel valued, supported and encouraged to reach their potential.

We value kindness, creativity, teamwork, openness and high expectations. We encourage people to bring ideas, take responsibility, learn from experience and work collaboratively to make things better.

As a growing charity, we work hard to retain the personal, family feel that has shaped Project 21 from the beginning, while continuing to strengthen our leadership, systems and ways of working.

Above all, we want Project 21 to be a place where people enjoy coming to work, feel proud of what they do and know that their contribution makes a genuine difference.

Equality, diversity and inclusion policy

Project 21 is committed to creating a fair, inclusive and welcoming workplace where everyone is treated with dignity and respect.

We value the different experiences, perspectives and strengths people bring to our organisation and are committed to providing equal opportunities in recruitment, development and employment. We do not tolerate discrimination, harassment or unfair treatment and make reasonable adjustments to support disabled colleagues and candidates.

As an organisation championing inclusion for people with Down’s Syndrome, we believe those same principles should be reflected in how we support, value and develop our own workforce.
