Asian MS is a national support group that offers tailored and culturally-sensitive services for Asian people with MS, their carers, friends and family. It's aimed at people whose heritage originates from South Asia.

As an Asian MS Community Engagement Volunteer you will the Group's local representative, helping us to find and attend events and reaching out to your local Asian MS community to raise awareness and extend the reach of the Group.

This role is very flexible, but there will be planning time (with your staff contact) and also attending events, meetings with networks and presentations. We would estimate the role taking no longer than 10 hours per month.

You’ll have support from a member of staff as well as a welcome and induction checklist which lists what resources are available to support you in your role.

As part of your role, you may have to complete some mandatory learning. Please refer to your welcome and induction checklist.

About you

Presentation Skills, confidence in speaking to new people, networking skills and the ability to influence would be fantastic. We would work to your strengths, however and some training will be available.

What we're looking for

Around 90 per cent of our income comes from our supporters and we couldn't continue doing what we do without them. You’ll be making a real difference to people living with sight loss by helping to create a world without barriers. At ReachOut, we believe that socio-emotional skills are overlooked foundational skills which improve success at school and the everyday, personal lives of children. Our aim is to transform outcomes for young people constrained by circumstance by building their socio-emotional skills. We define these skills as empathy, responsibility, problem solving, initiative, teamwork and emotion management.

We exist because not all children have the opportunity to just ‘pick up’ socio-emotional skills. Just like with maths or English, socio-emotional skills can be influenced by a wide range of formal and informal learning opportunities, which many children just don’t have access to the services and opportunities necessary to develop these skills. The 9-14 age bracket is a crucial juncture in childhood development, which is why we focus our efforts on this age range. Our approach combines positive peer support with supportive adult role models, allowing us to have the most impact. 

What do volunteer mentors do?  

• Volunteer on our after-school projects that take place for 2 hours a week over 12 weeks during term-time. Choose projects that work around your schedule, with projects at our partner schools running on different days.  

• Our sessions are led by our Youth Development Leads and involve collective mentoring activities from our curriculum and fun group games and activities that develop young people’s socio-emotional skills. The role of our volunteer mentors is to get stuck into session activities, typically supporting a small group of mentees, and helping the Youth Development Lead with facilitating activities with your fellow mentors.  

• Sessions are designed to be exciting and engaging for our young people, so by showing up weekly and bringing confidence and enthusiasm, you’ll be helping your mentees to grow in confidence, develop their skills and have fun! 

Our Programming volunteers provide a warm welcome to everybody as part of the programming on property, making sure our visitors get the most from their experience with us.

About Care4Calais 

Care4Calais is a volunteer-led charity delivering essential aid and support to people seeking asylum living in the UK and Northern France. We provide direct aid and advocate for a fair asylum system, including safe routes to claim asylum.

The UK Direct Aid team delivers essential support through practical services; such as running distributions, delivering English classes and casework-style support through drop-ins. The UK Direct Aid team also provides services to promote wellbeing such as trips and sports activities.

The Role – Charity Accountant
We are seeking an experienced Charity Accountant who can help us build financial systems that ensure transparency, accountability, and sustainability. You will play a vital role in managing budgets, producing reports, and advising the leadership team on financial matters to support the growth of our CIC.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee financial planning, reporting, and compliance with charity/CIC regulations.
• Prepare and monitor budgets, forecasts, and financial statements.
• Support funding applications by providing accurate financial data.
• Implement financial systems and processes that support scalability and growth.

• Previous experience as a Charity Accountant (or in a finance/accounting role within the non-profit sector).

The role of Preventative Mental Health Project Worker will support the Project Lead in the preparation for, and delivery of, One-Eighty’s preventative mental health projects including Make Me Smile, Kick Start and the Summer Project.  

There is also the opportunity of assisting with the marketing of projects, particularly Make Me Smile and processing of feedback from young people attending the project.

Overseen by One-Eighty’s Project Lead and supported by the Volunteer Coordinator, this role involves:

• preparing the resources to take to project sessions
• creating, maintaining, and developing impact/outcomes data collected pre- and post-sessions,
• supporting the delivery of the sessions to young people themselves - taking a lead role in this is part of the development roles associated with this volunteering opportunity

Skills and qualities needed

o You will be inducted and trained on the service standards for delivery.

o We will also provide training and mentoring to help you understand the administrative and data record-keeping requirements.

o You are required to complete a DBS check.

o You will need to undertake safeguarding and other related training courses prior to this volunteer placement. You will also need to read and agree to safeguarding and service delivery policies prior to the project delivery. One-Eighty holds safeguarding young people as one of its main priorities to enable impactful and high-quality delivery of services.

When and where

Make Me Smile:

We are currently expanding the delivery of this project. Initially, you will be involved in the marketing around this with project delivery opportunities to follow.

 Kick Start:

This project is being delivered on an ongoing basis to a variety of schools so there are opportunities to become involved in project delivery immediately.

We need volunteers who can be available for a 7-week block - approximately 1/2 a day each week over the 7 weeks.

o The schools we work in are located throughout Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire. There are potential opportunities for car sharing and you can decline an opportunity if it is not viable for you.

o Attendance at our Oxford office will be required for the preparation of materials depending on the project you are assisting with.

ROLDA UK is a registerd charity that rescues, rehabilitates and rehomes stray dogs and cats in both Romania and the Ukraine.

As a Champion for ROLDA, you will play a crucial role in driving our online and in-person fundraising efforts. This position is ideal for a passionate individual dedicated to animal welfare who wants to help make a tangible difference towards our rescue efforts. In tandem with the ROLDA team, you will lead initiatives, develop strategies, and inspire supporters to contribute to ROLDA’s mission, amplifying our impact.

Key Responsibilities:
● Fundraising Strategy Development: Collaborate with ROLDA’s leadership to create and implement innovative online         and in-person fundraising campaigns.
● Campaign Management: Coordinate and execute engaging, high-impact fundraising campaigns, such as peer-to-peer       fundraisers, social media drives, and seasonal events.
● Event Leadership: Organise and attend fundraising events, representing ROLDA in the community. Recruit and manage     a team of event volunteers when necessary.

• Identify and escalate safeguarding concerns following the organisation’s procedures.

• Participate in regular supervision meetings and ongoing professional development.

• Support awareness campaigns, community outreach, and mental health education initiatives when possible.

Essential Requirements

• Recognised qualification or training in Counselling, Psychology, or a related field (students and trainees are also welcome).

• Empathetic, non-judgmental, and trustworthy.

• Strong understanding of confidentiality, safeguarding, and professional boundaries.

• Excellent communication and active listening skills.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a supportive team.

• A genuine passion for helping children, teenagers, and families facing hardship.

Desirable Skills

• Experience supporting survivors of abuse, neglect, or trauma.

• Knowledge of family dynamics, youth issues, or homelessness.

• Familiarity with online counselling tools and data confidentiality best practices.

• Membership or trainee membership of BACP, UKCP, or equivalent (preferred but not required).

Commitment

• Minimum of 6 months commitment preferred.

• Approximately 5–10 hours per week (flexible scheduling).

• Must attend an online induction and safeguarding briefing before starting.
