In this role, you will:

• Create Dynamic Digital Content: Design engaging visuals for our social media channels, website, email campaigns, and digital advertising. Your work will help articulate our mission online and captivate our audience.

• Design Impactful Print Collateral: Develop eye-catching posters, flyers, brochures, banners, and other promotional materials for events and in-person outreach. Your designs will be the face of REMIX at community events, inspiring confidence and interest.

• Develop Brand Identity: Collaborate with our team to refine a cohesive visual style that resonates with young Londoners. You’ll ensure that every piece, whether digital or physical, consistently reflects our core message: INSPIRE. EMPOWER. TRANSFORM.

Airplay is part of the RAF Benevolent fund and run by One YMCA. We provide youth clubs for children aged eight to eighteen which includes Ben Clubs for children aged 5 to 7 too. We provide a range of social activities in state-of-the-art facilities with sessions run by our friendly youth workers.

MAIN TASKS/RESPONSIBILITIES:

· To support the provision of the Airplay and Ben Club activities and workshops

· Developing relationships with young people in a safe environment

· Supervising children and young people in activities, workshops and discussion sessions

· Engaging in learning and play with younger children

· Working with children and young people to track their progress

· Data entry/light admin work may be required

As a Grassroots Organiser, you will change animal lives by:

• Organising events and actions in your local area
• These will include peaceful protests, public outreach, social meet-ups and leafleting.
• Ideally you will organise 1 event every 1-2 months
• We will provide you with all the support and materials you need, as well as covering relevant expenses
• Growing a community of advocates by promoting your events and encouraging others to join you, bringing people together for the animals to create change
• Joining us at national events organised by staff team
• Taking campaign actions remotely, such as writing emails, letters and social media actions

If you’re excited by the prospect of leading and organising effective actions at a local level, all while making a genuine difference to animals, this is the role for you.

You will be supported directly by THL staff members who will steward you throughout your time with us, including a full onboarding process to get you started. No prior experience is needed and we’ll give you everything you need to build your skills and take action.

There is no set time commitment for this role, all we ask is that you can organise at least 1 event every 1-2 months. On average, it takes around 4-6 hours to deliver an event (including planning and delivery).

“Solta o Jogo” is a vibrant cultural competition and festival celebrating Brazilian heritage through Capoeira, music, dance, acrobatics, and a Brazilian arts & crafts fair. Hosted at Kingston University Townhouse, the event invites the community to participate in free performances, workshops, and exhibitions promoting cross-cultural understanding.

As part of this initiative, we are seeking a Public Relations (PR) Assistant to support the communications and public engagement strategy for the festival and wider organisational goals. Mary's is an open access, youth led organisation open to any young person aged 10-19. 

We are currently looking for enthusiastic, self-motivated, and energetic individuals to volunteer as youth club support workers, ideally over our busy summer programme.

As a Volunteer, you will assist Mary’s Youth Club team in providing exciting opportunities to young people at the Youth Club. 

This includes activities that take place on and off site

With excellent listening skills and the ability to empathise, you will build relationships of respect and trust and help maintain a welcoming, caring, safe and fun environment for Mary’s Youth Club members.

This role will include (but not be limited to):

• setting up and clearing the rooms
• assisting the team in providing the daily activities, this can include playing board games, arts and crafts, sports activitie, helping to prepare snacks, taking the register for the day and potentially going on day trips around London
• if you are volunteering on a Friday evening you may also be required to assist with the preparation of our warm evening meal

The time commitment:

• We are looking for people who are able to commit 3-5 hours per week - this will be to help cover the summer programme and therefore will be mostly day-time hours

• (Please note you are welcome to apply to volunteer during the term-time but the hours for this are different, they are monday-friday 4-7pm)

Experience

You do not need to have experience in volunteering, or to have worked with young people before, as you will be well looked after by the team.

Role Description:

This role sits within our Men’s Minds project, based in Hounslow. The aim of the service is to improve men’s mental health outcomes by developing a mental health network supported and directed by the voices of its members.

This will be achieved through three service strands: 1) Peer support network, 2) Psychoeducation workshops, addressing common needs of men’s mental health 3) Outreach support to raise awareness of men’s mental health and promote this service.

The role of the Peer Volunteer will be to support the Project Coordinator with developing and delivering various workshops and events. You will also take the lead in developing peer led support. Staff within the service will provide person-centred, practical and emotional support, face to face in a group basis to individuals who may have challenging life experiences.

At the start of the placement you will be in weekly training sessions and shadow mental health groups with the general public. Over time you would develop skills to run these groups and using your own interests create workshops for these service users. We would be keen to work with you to develop your own interests related to this project such as marketing, fundraising or strategy.

This volunteer position tends to attract students training in psychology, counselling and or social work. However, we would welcome your application should you be able to demonstrate a keen interest in this field.

In the process, we reduce 3.5 tons of Co2 emissions per battery. Battery recycling is an emission-intensive chemical process that causes environmental damage and harms people engaging with it. Our cutting-edge technology rejuvenates batteries without damaging them, reducing greenhouse gas emissions and avoiding the need for energy-intensive recycling. Lead-acid batteries are integral to battery backup systems in solar and wind farms, telecom towers, and data centres. They are also used widely in cars, forklifts, banks and ATM systems.

Sustainable Battery Regeneration

Skills and experiences we seek

We welcome applications from people with a wide range of skills and experiences. You don’t need any retail or shop experience as full training will be provided. What’s important to us is that you are a team player, open to learning and to follow our policies as well as be an excellent representative for Save the Children. 

We know that our shop teams are stronger when they are inclusive and representative of their communities. Everybody can make a real difference. People come to us for all sorts of reasons, from all backgrounds, and we will do what we can to find a role that works for you.

What happens next?

After you’ve filled in an application, we will invite you for an informal trial shift. It’s a great opportunity to visit the shop, meet some of our existing volunteers and have a go at some of the tasks that you would be supporting with as a shop volunteer. Hopefully allowing you to get a feel for the role and make sure it’s for you. We also ask for a couple of references (these don’t have to be formal workplace ones, just someone who has known you for over 6 months and isn’t related).

FCCT are looking for volunteers of the Catholic faith to play a supportive role by actively mentoring young offenders (aged 15-30 in HMP/YOI Feltham) and to offer support under the ‘7 pathways to Reducing Reoffending’:

FCCT offer support under the seven pathways to reducing reoffending, including signposting to relevant organisations:

• Accommodation
• Education, Training and Employment (ETE)
• Health
• Drug and Alcohol Misuse
• Finance, Benefits and Debts
• Children & Families
• Attitudes, Thinking and Behaviour
• Faith

Our aim is to help young people overcome hardships and make the positive transition back into wider society and to help to reduce reoffending rates.

Scope of Volunteer Main Role and Duties (not exhaustive):

Mentoring Arm:

1. Work through a ‘Discharge List’ systematically, cross referencing with the Operations Manager, so as not to duplicate any work or contact with the young people (primarily of Catholic faith).
2. Hand out and (where needed) help complete ‘Questionnaires’ given to young people from the ‘Discharge List’, in order to ascertain what type of job or education sector the young person would be interested in going into. Forms to be given to the Operations Manager afterwards.
3. Follow up with a one-to-one session – register the young person to the FCCT programme and completing relevant paperwork, which will include our ‘Client Profile Form’ and ‘Consent Form’.
4. Update a shared ‘Client Spreadsheet’ which will be used to capture data information, as to the young people that FCCT are engaging with.
5. If required, identify relevant Churches etc for the young people to attend post release and contact said religious establishments, to understand their referral criteria and then make relevant referrals, where required.
6. Collect testimonials from the young people in relation to the support FCCT have offered them.
7. Mentoring of young people 
8. Make or facilitate family contacts for resettlement purposes, in relation to the young people.

We are looking for individuals who demonstrate the following attributes:

• Commitment: Shows commitment to the organisation, its values and its clients, understanding that the building of trust and consistency is key, in terms of the clientele FCCT work with.
• Communication: Communicates well both verbally and in writing. An ability to communicate effectively with young people would also be an added benefit.
• Resilience: Demonstrates patience and understanding in the face of challenges.
• Professionalism: Complies with all FCCT policies and procedures, particularly regarding Safeguarding, GDPR etc.
• Non-judgemental: Demonstrates empathy and openness and does not impose personal values or conscious or unconscious bias.
• Solution focused: Can help to identify issues and meets challenges with optimism and offers solutions, seeing them as an opportunity to learn.

Training and Support

We will provide all the necessary training. Training will be provided on an ongoing basis and volunteers will be given a full induction of the organisation and how the projects run.

Time Required

FCCT ask for a minimum of 8 hours a month. Due to the flexibility of the role, the hours can be distributed over different days between the core hours of 9am - 5pm, including Sundays. We are for a commitment of at least a year with the project, due to the flexibility of the role.

Volunteering in the shop

Mary's Living & Giving for Save the Children is unique - a vibrant result of the generous gifts of local individuals and companies being turned around by the skills and passions of volunteer teams, to create a destination retail experience. We hold a prime position on the picturesque Church Street and from our little pink shop we raise lifesaving funds for Save The Children’s work both in the U.K. and abroad. As well as raising awareness on sustainable fashion and fashion climate activism, we’re a hub of excitement and passion!

Our Stoke Newington Shop Volunteers are in the middle of it all, and there’s plenty to get involved with. You might be sorting and pricing stock, engaging with customers, ringing items through the till, creating fantastic window displays or keeping our shop floor looking organised.
