This post is advertised as an exciting opportunity for an experienced Advice Session Supervisor (ASS) to consolidate their skills and experience or as a development opportunity for an advisor to train to become an ASS within six months of starting in post. If applying as a trainee the starting salary will be on NJC Scale 6 – £33,194 for the first six months whilst undertaking the training.
The post holder will be required to work across all of our offices and outreaches in Southwark according to operational needs.
The role includes:
·Providing advice to the public and undertaking casework on social welfare law issues
·Supervising advice and gateway assessment sessions
·Supporting and supervising staff and volunteers
To be successful you will need:
·Recent experience of giving advice to the public. This should include having undertaken advice casework.
·Experience of undertaking the role of Advice Session Supervisor or to demonstrate the ability to undertake this role with training provided within 6 months of starting
·To understand, empathise with and be committed to the Service’s aims, principles and equal opportunities policies

The role
Voice4Change England is recruiting for an Infrastructure and Development Officer who will effectively manage outreach and consultation with BME organisations and communities across England. We are looking for a proactive, motivated and outgoing person to join our Infrastructure and Development Team.
You will be passionate about social justice and addressing inequalities, can assess community needs and deliver infrastructure support addressing under-funding, and help to build sustainability and resilience in BME groups as well as help groups develop opportunities for greater impact.
The role will be remote working with monthly meetings and project related travel across England.
Main responsibilities
• Organise and deliver outreach to reach and engage BME organisations and be informed by them on needs and issues.
• Organise roadshows and other events to engage and consult with BME organisations on particular issues and themes that emerge from outreach and consultation.
• Contribute to the development of learning, advice, support and resources for BME organisations.
• Liaise with external agencies and service providers to help broker increased inclusion of BME organisations.
• Collaborate, inform and involve, as relevant, BME organisations to aid the development of this work.
• Produce reports for V4CE and funders on the impact and value of the outreach and development work
• Contribute to dissemination of the contribution of the London BME sector to increase external value and respect of its work and impact

Education and Experience
· Knowledge of the issues and barriers faced by BME organisations and community groups

Community Mental Health Support Worker

About the role
Recovery and connect is a project delivered in partnership with Surrey and Borders Partnership NHS Foundation Trust. The Outreach Support Worker will work intensively with a caseload of individuals identified by the HomeFirst alliance, who have a pre-existing mental health concern and to support them to access ongoing community services.
The role will involve traveling across different locations in Surrey Heath and working as part of a team aligned to the shared care forum to support vulnerable service users.
Key responsibilities will include:
- To build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders such as: HomeFirst alliance, my shared care forum, CMHRS, voluntary sector agencies.
- To work with a caseload of clients, their families, and carer(s), clinical staff, and other stakeholders to create a holistic support plan around the individual, guided by the individuals needs using motivational interviewing as a framework.
- To work with clients alongside other professionals delivering their care and bridging them to other services and opportunities.
- To build relationships with caseload of clients to understand and support with any barriers to accessing onward support or appointments.
- To arrange and attend multidisciplinary team (MDT) and supervision meetings.
- To ensure service is linked in with Community Connections team.
- To make onward referrals and/or provide information and advice about what support is available locally.
- To provide technology/facilities support or bridge with organisations that are providing to aid with clients search for employment and connection, courses through Recovery College, employment offers through Richmond Fellowship.
- To record and report, as agreed, any KPIs including Dialogue as a measure of client’s progress and any information required for funders/Trustees.
About you
The Community Mental Health Support Worker should be passionate and committed to supporting people in their recovery journey with previous experience in a similar role.
You will also have:
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team (statutory and voluntary)
- An understanding of confidentiality, consent, information sharing, including GDPR.
- An understanding of Safeguarding policy and practice.
- Ability to interact effectively with the clients, colleagues and other professionals whilst retaining clear boundaries.

The charity is a mental health and emotional well-being charity, supporting Surrey residents since 1994 in Banstead, Elmbridge, Epsom and Ewell, and Mole Valley.

Basis is looking to appoint a Navigation and Support Worker (Intensive Support) who can provide appropriate emotional and practical support to women in the sex industry and/or those who are being sexually exploited. The women we work with often require intensive practical and emotional support as well as help to navigate health and, social care, the criminal justice systems and other services. The women’s circumstances can impact their mental or physical health. They may also be at risk of or experience homelessness and come into contact with the criminal justice system. Many of the women may experience historic or current sexual and/or domestic abuse.
Working within a harm reduction ethos prioritising women’s safety and wellbeing, the intensive personalised supported will help women to access other services and making appropriate referrals for women who wish to access additional support, including exiting/transitioning out of sex work. You will be responsible for ensuring that women with varying needs are supported effectively throughout their pathway of support with Basis and partners, advocating for and with the women you are working with including, where necessary, challenging stigma and judgement women face.

York Carers Centre is an independent charity that helps unpaid carers in York access the support they need. We currently have an exciting opportunity for individuals who have a genuine interest in using their experience and skills to support young people.

White Gables is a 24-hr crisis service, supporting people experiencing a mental health crisis and working to a recovery model. We provide a range of support services for people with mental ill health to access in their local community, including outreach support, peer support and supported housing. We have been operating in the area for a number of years and offer a staffed service to our residents aged 18 and upwards.
We know that recovery can look and feel very different to each and every one of us. But we also know that if we provide the right support, at the right time, we can inspire recovery nationwide and that recovery is possible for everyone. That’s where you come in.
Responsible for helping and inspiring the people who use our services to maintain their tenancy and independence in the community, we’ll rely on you to work with them to come up with a personal support plan that will see them achieve their goals and aspirations. Whether it’s developing their domestic and finance management skills or accessing work, leisure or educational opportunities, one thing’s for sure ‐ you will have every chance to shine.
No relevant experience is required as full training will be provided, although candidates with an understanding of mental health issues and/or lived experience would be welcomed. More important is your caring and compassionate nature and empathy and enthusiasm for helping others. Whatever your background, you’ll need to be happy to work both independently and within a team and willing to be part of a weekly rota system and available for on call duties.

You’ll need a significant understanding of mental health issues and substantial experience of working within a mental health setting where you dealt with ‘high risk’ clients and managing resources effectively. A good understanding of recovery and coproduction is important too. Adept at managing conflicting demands and priorities on time, you have a flexible attitude to working hours and, above all, keen to be part of something new and worthwhile that will change lives.

We are looking for an Assistant Community Manager to join our Community of people recovering from, or experiencing homelessness, The team is small, but very supportive and committed to the residents, ex residents and guests that the community serves. This is an active role for a hands-on person who believes in the potential for community to affect personal change. This is a full time permanent role, mainly based in Kentish Town.
We support our residents through a therapeutic community structure. We aim to offer an accepting framework in which human relationships can be nourished. We work from a main residential house and provide outreach services to those still left on the streets. We are looking for a person to work in the residential house and also have a regular presence on street outreach.
While and interest and feeling for homelessness issues is vital to the work, other experience of social care settings, therapeutic models and communities are also valuable.
The ideal candidate will need to bring diplomacy, humour, willingness and a commitment to the ethos of acceptance and love.
A driving licence isn't absolutely necessary, but would be an advantage. If you have a UK driving licence and are willing to drive in central London, please state this on your cover letter.

Community Action Redbridge is a local infrastructure organisation working to support strong and resilient communities where people lead happy, healthy and fulfilling lives. We are a small, friendly team based in central Ilford - just 20 minutes by train from Liverpool Street station.
The healthy communities programme aims to find new ways to promote health and address inequalities in Redbridge using community development and health creation practice.
Over the past year, our team of outreach workers and community development practitioners have engaged over 4,000 residents, helping local people build and share knowledge about health, encouraging people to take control over their wellbeing, and exploring what can improve health and wellbeing in Redbridge.
Through our activities, we have identified two communities in the borough experiencing significant inequity – the Roma community and people living in Loxford ward – along with key priority areas for developing community action initiatives.
Programme Overview 2024 - 2025
Over the next year, we will work alongside local people from the identified communities to build on their strengths and take action for improved health and wellbeing. We will achieve this by supporting local people to establish a monthly community network to:

Consider the future they want for themselves and their communities,

Discuss issues and agree collective priorities,

Share ideas and problem-solve issues, and
-
Take practical action towards realising the future they want to see.
Through this network, we will share information about local services, groups, and activities, and offer training and support for local people to upskill and take the lead with confidence.
We will also lead the development of a Loxford neighbourhood forum where residents, community groups, voluntary sector, health (e.g., GP practices), education and social care services can come together to make connections, work together on what matters to local people, and address health and wellbeing needs in the area.
Finally, we have been re-commissioned by the Public Health department of Redbridge Council to continue delivering our TB Awareness project, raising awareness amongst communities who are at high risk of TB.
You will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of projects within the Healthy Communities Programme, which includes overseeing the team and providing support for community action initiatives.
We are looking for someone who is passionate about the power of community, with experience supporting inclusive community development and participation to drive change. You will also need to have project management experience and a commitment to the learning and development of yourself and those you manage.
