The Role

What will I be doing?

You’ll be responsible for a range of activities, including:

• Maintaining and updating the full suite of personnel records for staff
• The timely and accurate generation and issue of employment contracts/amendment to terms and associated paperwork
• Overseeing the quality of data held within the HR system and other HR software and offer guidance to users of the systems and administrative support
• Preparing and accurately entering all monthly salary information on to the HR system
• Recruitment support for all Institute vacancies and managing the recruitment process
• Overseeing the probation and induction process for new starters and to conduct new starter induction sessions
• Developing new, and streamline existing administrative processes and procedures
• Generating system reports as and when required

About You...

The role is ideal for someone with good generalist HR experience and up to date knowledge and understanding of key HR legislation and HR systems.

We are looking for an organised and dependable individual who has a proven ability to work with within a small team, and who can communicate effectively with a wide range of people both in written and oral form.

Proven experience of accurate data entry and monthly payroll processes is essential along with previous experience of effectively following administrative processes.

Who will I work with?

• Internally, the role works across all departments as well as IOP Publishing HR and Finance
• Externally, the role works with recruitment agencies and other relevant organisations

Essential Criteria

• Experience of preparing and monitoring accurate contractual information and other essential HR documentation
• Experience of supporting the monthly payroll function
• Experience working in a busy and varied role in a fast paced environment, autonomously
• Strong working knowledge of employment law and HR best practice
• Absolute attention to detail
• Basic level HR qualification
• Experience using HR systems, ideally iTrent (Electric Theme)

How will I be working?

We work in a flexible, trust‑based way through our How We Work model. This gives individuals and teams the independence to choose how, when and where they work best, while recognising that some in‑person collaboration is important for impact especially from an operational standpoint.

You’ll be assigned a base office, which can also be your chosen place of work. Most of our roles offer hybrid working as standard, with occasional office visits to help us stay connected and support our inclusive way of working. As an organization we meet in person once a quarter at our Head Office in Kings Cross, London.

What You’ll Be Doing

As our Individual Giving Assistant – Supporter Acquisition, you’ll play a vital role in supporting our fundraising campaigns and projects, helping to recruit new supporters to the Charity. You’ll be one of the first points of contact for our donors, providing exceptional supporter care and ensuring every supporter feels valued. Your day-to-day will include:

• Responding to supporter enquiries by phone, email and in-person, ensuring all queries are handled efficiently and with care. 
• Thanking donors and personalising communications to build strong relationships and ensuring a positive and lasting first impression.
• Accurately recording and processing donations, and updating supporter records on our database.
• Supporting the delivery of fundraising campaigns, including creating timing plans, proofreading copy and assiting with briefs. 
• Managing invoices and helping with campaign reporting.
• Supporting the team with administrative tasks.
• Working with colleagues and volunteers to deliver the best possible supporter experience.

What We’re Looking For

You’ll be an enthusiastic team player with:

• Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
• The ability to prioritise, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines.
• A proactive, flexible approach and willingness to support the team as needed.
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office (experience with customer databases is desirable).
• Commitment to providing outstanding supporter care and working in a supporter-focused environment.

Previous experience in customer or supporter service, office administration, or the charity sector is desirable but not essential – full training will be provided.

1MM Programmes Administrator (Operations & Delivery)

Location: Hybrid working in Greater Manchester, Greater London or Cardiff City Region

Contract: 6 months (continuing subject to funding)

Hours: 37.5 per week

Salary: £25,000 (pro rata)

Our work is powered by committed mentors, strong safeguarding, and high-quality programme delivery — and we’re looking for a highly organised, values-driven Programmes Administrator (Operations & Delivery) to help make it all happen.

About the Role

This is a key role at the heart of our programmes. You’ll support the smooth delivery of mentoring across all regions by coordinating training and events, managing essential systems and checks, and ensuring safeguarding and compliance standards are met at all times.

• Experienced in event administration
• Confident using digital systems and learning new tools
• 2 years experience in HR and general administration, operations, or programme support

As an interim Supervising Solicitor in Public Law, you will supervise and carry out CPAG’s public law legal aid cases, to benefit families and children in poverty. You will play an active role in managing CPAG’s legal practice and conduct high-profile public law litigation. 

We are looking for someone who is passionate about using the law to advocate for the rights of, and directly improve the lives of, families in poverty. The ideal candidate will be a solicitor (E&W qualified) with experience of conducting public law litigation and legal aid (publicly funded) work. You will be able to supervise the casework of colleagues, such as CPAG’s junior or trainee solicitor(s) and welfare benefit advisers. You may have experience of working with clients in vulnerable situations or with additional needs, for example, survivors of domestic abuse, refugees, disabled people or children and young people.
