Team Administrator
We are seeking an enthusiastic, proactive and motivated administrator who would like a varied role. The successful candidate will provide cross-departmental support and administrative support for our small team. There is real scope for the candidate to shape the role and gain experience from involvement in various organisational projects. This is a fantastic opportunity to join an encouraging, consultative, dedicated and supportive team and be part of the work of an inspirational organisation.
Contract
Permanent; 3 days (21 hrs per week). We will be flexible on hours worked each day and the days worked e.g. splitting 21 hours over four or five days.
Salary
£16,817 (£28,028 FTE). First Give is committed to paying the London Living Wage.
Location
Hybrid, in our North West London office with one day per week at home. We can be flexible regarding the specific days, but these will be fixed once agreed.

Purpose of the role
Are you passionate about how digital communications can be leveraged to help even more people understand the role and importance of churches and to encourage and support those who are caring for these historic buildings? We are looking for a part-time Communications Officer to join our small Communications Team at the National Churches Trust. You will help plan, write, build and send our regular newsletters, manage our photo library and permissions, and support us in making sure our website is up-to-date, accurate and accessible.
If you are a good communicator and writer, you understand the importance of UX design and supporter journeys, and you want to use your skills to help keep churches open and in use, then this could be the role for you.
Hours of Work: Part-time, 21 hours per week split over three days, working Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday.

Job Title: Duty Independent Gender Violence Advocate (Duty IGVA)
Location: The Gaia Centre (Lambeth, London)
Salary: £23,085.69 per annum (Inclusive of London Weighting, which may not be applicable depending on your home location and any agreed permanent homeworking arrangement)

Hours: 30 hours per week. As part of this role, you will be required to participate in an out-of-hours on call rota. Operating hours of the service 8am- 6pm Monday- Friday with the expectation to work on some days 8- 4pm or 10- 6pm to cover duty shifts.
We are recruiting for a Duty Independent Gender Violence Advocate (IGVA) who will be working closely with survivors of domestic, and other gender-based abuse to provide high quality independent support, guidance and advice to survivors across all risk levels and their children.
In this role the Duty IGVA is a part of a busy team. The Duty IGVA will be the first point of contact for survivors who have been referred to the Gaia Centre by other professionals. The Duty IGVA also will be responsible for processing any self-referrals of individuals contacting the service and wishing to access support. The Duty IGVA will be responsible for responding to daily enquiries from partnership agencies, public and impacted individuals over the phone and email.
In some circumstances the Duty IGVA will be contacting survivors directly to assess their level of risk and needs to ensure eligibility. The Duty IGVA will be responsible for carrying out and implementing safety plans and needs assessments. The Duty IGVA will ensure an effective handover of the case to the relevant team for ongoing support.
The Duty IGVA will empower survivors by providing them with emotional, practical and personal welfare support. The Duty IGVA will ensure that survivors are provided with a safe, supportive and welcoming environment, enabling them to access their rights, make decisions and increase their life options. The job involves working within a multi-agency framework consisting of the MARAC and local partnership protocols and procedures that prioritise the safety of survivors.
The job involves informing survivors of the full range of civil, criminal and practical options that might increase their safety. The jobalso involves working in a fast-paced environment.
As part of this role, you will be required to participate in an out-of-hours on call rota.

Schools’ Project Officer
The Mark Evison Foundation aims to promote the personal development of young people through challenge. We work directly with London partner state schools, encouraging non-academic proposals for challenge from 17-year olds (Y12s). It is fascinating work, bringing out the best in young people. Students must create their own applications and challenges, decide what they want to do, research and plan the projects and present them: we help with plans (sending comments by email), careful risk assessment and funding.
Due to expansion, we are seeking a gifted schools’ project officer for a key role within a busy team based in Dulwich SE21, Southwark. The work is varied and fulfilling.
You should be a graduate from a good university, enthusiastic and very well-organised, with excellent interpersonal and communication skills, able to work independently, manage priorities, work to deadlines, and take initiative. The post involves presenting at school assemblies as outreach, working with students to help them prepare costed applications, handling draft applications by email, and accurate data collection and input. You will need to deal efficiently and accurately with our administrative requirements, and have excellent PC skills – Word, Excel and Outlook. We would train you to deal with the work and our systems.

CSAN is the official agency of the Catholic Bishops’ Conference tackling the root causes of poverty and injustice affecting people who live in England and Wales. We’re facing a steep rise in poverty and significant pressures on social, economic and church resources. Currently, the Church is called to raise a prophetic voice against poverty and the rhetoric of division and work for the building of a more just society.
Over the last 20 years, CSAN has built up a network of 50 diocesan and direct service charities with a combined annual spend on social mission estimated at £400m, excluding the work of schools and religious congregations. Our members build up local community life in diverse ways, and many of them support individuals in difficulty, including with housing, prison and detention, social isolation, ill-health, violence, disability, employment, care, therapeutic and welfare support.
The key responsibilities of the post are:
1. To scan the social policy environment to capture developments in legislation, consultation papers and Bills relevant to the Caritas network for the purpose of comprehensive tracking and briefing.
2. To deliver an effective programme of Catholic advocacy and political campaigns that contributes to the common good, with particular attention to the priorities of the dignity of workers, child poverty, social care and end of life; supporting and connecting well with the team’s other activities, and where possible with the CSAN membership’s priorities,
3. To draft campaign and advocacy materials for the range of media channels used by CSAN and support the CEO in engaging with the press and approaches from campaigning organisations including contributing to CSAN’s social media networks.
4. To provide admin support and contribute to CSAN’s Alliances as required, especially the Advocacy Alliance and the Criminal Justice Alliance with information and education on policy and legislation.
5. To ensure that our advocacy is consistent with the Bishops’ understanding of the Church’s role in society and supports the priorities of the Bishops’ Conference, especially the Department for Social Justice.
6. To act as a conduit of information and communication between the Bishops’ Conference and the CSAN members, under the guidance of the CEO, assisting CBCEW where possible in gathering information and the lived experience of poverty.
7. To develop and contribute to practice materials for the network, especially in the areas of campaigning, advocacy, social policy and formation for mission.
8. To oversee monitoring of the Catholic press and relevant wider networks for relevant articles, developments and campaigns.
9. To support the general work of CSAN as required by the CEO, including leading in the development and organisation of the charity in specific areas subject to skills and experience.
The work of the small national team requires a high level of integrity and teamwork, respect for and capacity to navigate complex civil and church contexts at pace, and a stable commitment to personal formation and training. The Part-Time Manager for Our Place and Our Voice leads AoD’s work on co-production, peer support, campaigning and community engagement. The postholder ensures Disabled people are actively involved in shaping services, influencing policy and strengthening their voice within the local community and beyond.
The role coordinates peer-led programmes, develops accessible training and events, and builds partnerships that promote inclusion and representation. Working closely with the Chief Executive and Chief Operating Officer, the postholder ensures that AoD’s values of co-production and Disabled leadership are embedded throughout the organisation.
Main Responsibilities
1. Lead, plan and coordinate AoD’s Our Place and Our Voice programmes, including co-production, peer support and community engagement initiatives.
2. Develop and deliver accessible training, workshops and events that build confidence, skills and leadership among Disabled people.
3. Recruit, supervise and support volunteers, peer facilitators and freelancers to deliver activities safely and effectively.
4. Build and maintain positive partnerships with local authorities, VCSE organisations, health services and community networks to promote the voice of Disabled people.
5. Promote co-production practice across AoD’s services, working with other managers to embed user involvement in service design and review.
6. Ensure all activities are inclusive, accessible and aligned with the Social Model of Disability.
7. Monitor and evaluate project performance, including collecting data, feedback and case studies to evidence impact.
8. Manage budgets within agreed limits and support financial planning and reporting to the Chief Executive.
9. Prepare and submit funding applications and tender bids (in conjunction with the Chief Executive) to support programme sustainability and growth.

- To manage the day to day running of Legacy and In Memory campaigns; including campaign planning, overseeing creative development, liaising with key stakeholders, co-ordinating print and production, ensuring fundraising is compliant with the IoF Code of Conduct and GDPR, monitoring and analysing results and feeding back to agencies.

The ideal candidate would have:

About the role
The Head of External Relations is a key senior leadership role at Rainforest Foundation UK (RFUK) responsible for overseeing effective fundraising and communications strategies to support the organisation's work protecting rainforests and the rights of Indigenous Peoples and local communities.
Reporting to the Executive Director, this role is responsible for building RFUK’s external profile and support for its ambitious 2033 vision to scale up community-led protection of tropical forests. The Organisation
Action on Disability (AoD), founded in 1979, is one of London’s leading Deaf and Disabled People’s Organisations. As we believe in the social model of disability, our values and principles embrace inclusive and accessible ways of working both internally and in all our activities, seek the participation and contribution of our members, and encourage and respect diversity.
The organisation is a medium sized charity with a Board of Trustees (at least 75% is disabled trustees), 20 staff and a strong ad hoc staff and volunteer base including many with direct experience of disability – all of whom are passionate about removing the barriers that disabled people face.

AoD’s Independent Living Service
The Independent Living Service (Self-Directed Support Service) is a new service that will provide support to Direct Payment users within the borough of Hammersmith and Fulham. The service will enable disabled people to have genuine choice and control over the way in which they lead their lives.The post-holder will be working alongside disabled people to enable them to have more choice and control over their care and support needs.
Purpose of Post
To work with individuals, their family and friends (where appropriate) to provide them with information, advice and assistance to enable them to access and manage a Direct Payment
(DP) and recruit and manage a Personal Assistant (PA).
Main Duties and Responsibilities
Support to individuals employing their own Personal (care) Assistant (PA) or engage an agency to deliver care and support.
- Provide information and advice on becoming an employer and the role of the Personal Assistant.
- Ensure that the client understands their legal obligations and responsibilities of being an employer.
- Work with clients to: set up a profile on the Find-a-pa website, advertise and recruit a Personal Assistant, create a personalised job description and specification identify the level of experience and training requirements needed for the role.
- Advise and help to calculate the PA’s salary and on costs (full training provided).
- Support the client through the interview process and where necessary sit in during interviews.
- Support individuals to reference, check legal status and where necessary DBS their support worker.
- Support individuals to set up an induction plan for their PA and enable them to identify training needs.
- Support the client to complete payroll and insurance documentation.
- Work with the client to draw up a Statement of Particular (contract) for the employed PA (templates provided).
- Encourage DP employers to take a lead in all employment issues. Information on where to seek advice e.g. ACAS, Fish and Premier Care helpline will be given and clients will be encouraged to use them.
- Ensure that the individual has a back-up plan for emergencies.
- Encourage DP employers to be assertive and proactive with their Personal Assistants.
- Work with agencies to set up support for clients who may not wish to employ a PA directly.
Ongoing support to individuals in receipt of Direct Payments
- Providing advice on employment issues.
- Support individuals to solve practical problems e.g. lateness of staff, change of needs.
- Support individuals to recruit again if necessary.
- Assist individuals to re-look at budgets, training and job descriptions as they change over time.
- Assist individuals to ensure that they continue to manage their Direct Payment or budget.
- Support individuals to make informed choices.
- Meet with the DP Support Group on a regular basis.
- Assist in the development of training and other resources to support employers to manage their DP and their PA relationships.
- Develop links and professional relationships with Social Work teams to support a healthy level of referrals.
For all work:
- Work in a person-centred way.
- Comply with AoD’s agreed policies and procedures.
- Participate in the wider development of the service and contribute to service improvement as required.
