Context and Background
The innovative services that we develop are a critical part of the NSPCC’s fight for every childhood. We transform lives by working directly with some of the most vulnerable children and families. This role will help develop our service offer in respect of preventing and tackling child sexual abuse, with a focus on the ongoing development, coordination and implementation of our secondary education service. This aims to support secondary education settings to be places that foster healthy relationships and keep, young people safe from abuse.
Job purpose
• Scoping, leading and project managing programmes, services and products within the Development and Implementation Team within set timescales and budgets.
• Managing a matrix approach to service development and design, bringing together people, resources, skills and talent from across the organisation to conceptualize, design and create new programmes, services and products
• Working with a range of internal and external stakeholders to ensure that all new developments are informed and underpinned by evidence, have a theory of change and support the NSPCC in delivering its strategy
• Working with research colleagues to plan how outcomes and impact will be measured for each new development.
Key relationships - Internal
Reporting to the Associate Head of Development with close links to the Head of Development and Implementation, the post holder will work closely with an internal project team, managing workstream leads from digital, comms, content development, schools service, income generation and subject matter experts and have frequent interaction at Director level and other senior stakeholders. They will be in frequent contact with multiple teams and directorates as they operate a matrix style of project development.
Key relationships - External
This role will develop relationships at Director level and other senior stakeholders across a range of external partners including from Education, Children Services, Police, Health Partners and the third sector for the purpose of influencing, learning, collaboration and engagement. They will also work closely with participation and people with lived experience who support service development.
Main duties and responsibilities
1. Project delivery
· Accountable for end to end delivery of the development and delivery of projects within the D&I team, with a focus on education
· Ensure projects are well managed and desired outcomes are achieved and benefits realised
· Lead a matrix approach to service development and design bringing together a multifaceted team from inside and outside of the NSPCC
2. Governance
· Establish and maintain an effective governance and project framework for any development
· Ensure the correct oversight and controls are in place
· Ensure project paperwork is complete including risks and issues logs
· Produce up to date high quality reports and data in relation to the project
3. Quality
· Work with quality assurance processes to ensure all services developed are to a high standard and regularly reviewed for accuracy
· Review, scrutinise, challenge and apply evidence from a wide variety of sources to inform development
· Work with research and evidence colleagues to test and learn and improve services
4. Relationships
· Actively seek input from a range of subject matter experts and those with lived experience as part of any development

Person specification
1. Knowledge relevant to NSPCC strategic objectives, specifically the education sector, relationships and sex education
2. Experienced in managing complex, fast paced, multi-agency/client relationships and cross organisational teams to deliver multiple projects
3. Significant experience in the successful design and development of innovative, evidence based services, ideally within the education sector
4. Application of structured project management techniques to plan, monitor and deliver projects involving many stakeholders and teams in their delivery

This role is homebased/flexible but does require some travel within the UK.

Overview
The Choir with No Name runs choirs and builds joyful singing communities with homeless and marginalised people, around the UK. Currently, there are six choirs: in Birmingham, Liverpool, London, Coventry, Brighton (run in partnership with BHT Sussex) and Cardiff (run in partnership with The Wallich). We were founded on the premise that singing makes you feel good; it distracts you from all the nonsense in life and helps you to build confidence, skills and genuine, long-lasting friendships. Our choir members are people who have experienced homelessness, or who are simply going through a tough time in their lives.

We have recently received funding from the National Lottery to build our participation programme to support choir members and people from the wider community work together to create safe, accessible and inclusive choir communities, as well as contribute to the national direction of the Choir with No Name. We are looking for someone to take on this exciting new role to lead the development of our participation programme at a national level as our Community Participation Manager. This role will work with our six current choirs and build a foundation for all future choirs.
As an organisation, we are committed to moving towards greater co-creation of choirs with people with experience of homelessness. This role is a crucial part of this journey.

Job description
Participation framework
- Carry out a skills audit across all our choirs to understand what skills are needed to run each choir with greater involvement from choir members, facilitated by choir managers. This will include discovering what skills choirs have amongst their existing member and volunteer communities, and what support and training could be shared.
- Research other organisations’ participation frameworks and volunteer programmes to identify ways in which the Choir with No Name can learn from others in the sector.
- Identify a range of tasks, roles, and responsibilities (being clear about the distinction between the these) that members and people in the community can take part in to support the running of the choir, along with the training they would need to do so.
- Identify healthy ways to step down from roles and responsibilities.
- Design and pilot a framework of roles, responsibilities and tasks, and associated training and support, before rolling out nationally across all our choirs.
Existing volunteer programme
- Evaluate our existing volunteering programme, listening to our volunteer team about their experience as a volunteer, identifying areas for development.
- Develop the existing volunteer programme to support and value volunteers and to incorporate our new approach to co-creation and co-production.
- Work with our existing volunteers in a transition from the current programme into the participation framework, whilst continuing communicating the value and importance of volunteers within the Choir with No Name.
Manage volunteer communications
- Develop and manage accessible communications to ensure volunteers are equipped with the tools they need to do their roles (training, policies, support) and feel valued (thanks and recognition for their hard work). This could include:
- A regular email to volunteers
- An online portal for volunteers to access whenever they need
- Regular meetings for volunteers to keep them up to date with what is going on in the organisation and to share practice
Volunteer recruitment, induction, training and data
- Lead on national volunteer recruitment and support local recruitment carried out by Choir Managers.
- Develop, with choir members and volunteers, a training programme to support roles within choir. This training should come in a range of forms, and where possible, led or informed by choir members.
- Manage volunteer data, including developing our data management system (currently Monday, but we are considering using Plinth), ensuring:
- Inductions are completed consistently and reviewed for long term volunteers.
- Training is implemented and kept up to date.
- Volunteer data is managed in a central database so we can effectively communicate, track and understand our impact.
- Reporting on volunteer numbers and other information is provided to the Senior Management Team and board.
Other
- Support the development of the Board Experience Programme and the Member Advisory Panel, led by the CEO and Head of Programmes.
- Work towards the Investing in Volunteers or Kings Award for Voluntary Service.
- Carry out any other duties as may be reasonably required by the Choir with No Name within the scope of the role.

This role will work closely with the CEO and other business development colleagues to ensure that TAWS optimises opportunities nationally and regionally as well as across the breadth of the current and future delivery range. You will lead, plan and secure new business in these areas as well as provide line management for a small team of bid writers based nationally.
You will report into the CEO and work closely with senior colleagues across the organisation. You will work in close contact with internal colleagues such as CEO/ business development colleagues/ comms colleagues/ and delivery teams in West Midlands and Essex. Your role will work very closely with head of finance in establishing a clear and reliable pipeline for business opportunities and funding sources going forward.
The main purpose of the role will be to coordinate bids that are effective, well costed, realistic and in line business needs and values, and that we are suitably placed to participate effectively in key partnerships nationally, regionally and locally to ensure that we are able to embed in business areas and build effective partnerships for collaborative larger bids.
Main duties
- Undertake horizon scanning with the leads of the business development areas to ensure we understand key opportunities and are embedded in key partnerships at a national and local level.
- Work with colleagues on a joined up business development approach to secure new business and contracts
- Increase the number, range, and value of contracts secured in line with our strategic objectives
- Build and maintain a range of relevant partnerships to support the winning of new business
- Maintain up to date market and academic research available on the CRM and other systems within the team
- Develop and conduct effective business pitches to key decision makers and ensure that they are kept relevant by relevant reviews and updates
- Manage the bid writing team, oversee and strengthen our current funding operations

This challenging role is responsible for the planning, selection, budgets, and delivery of HQ Army Cadet sponsored international exchanges, specifically including Exercises Oak and Maple Leaf (Canada), Ex Baltic Guard (Baltic States), the India international exchange and the Poland international exchange. Overall purpose:
As Fundraising and Campaigns Marketing Manager in the Marketing & Communications team, you will drive Ben’s fundraising and commercial services with individuals and businesses within the automotive industry. You’ll work closely and collaboratively with colleagues to deliver the best possible results for communications delivered both digitally and physically (this can include content on our website, social channels, email and printed materials) to support the delivery of Ben’s overall strategy.
Principal Accountabilities:
- Managing the day-to-day marketing of fundraising/income campaigns using a test-and-learn approach across a range of new and existing channels and products
- Managing campaigns and projects from planning to delivery and evaluation, ensuring they are delivered on time and on budget
- Assisting with the ongoing monitoring and optimisation of fundraising campaigns and products
- Researching competitor campaigns, market trends, new tools and platforms
Planning and organising
- Create and execute Fundraising and Marketing plans to promote Ben’s services, events and campaigns against budgets and with clear ROIs, in line with longer-term org strategy
- Work across the range of fundraising and commercial products and services, to ensure pricing, positioning and promotional activities are aligned for maximum impact
- Support to look after brand management of Ben’s fundraising and commercial brands (DoIt4Ben, ILC, Ben Ball, Ben Training etc.)
- Plan, create and develop high-quality content which is tailored to audience personas, which they will find engaging and meets strategic objectives
- Utilise various channels, including social media, website, email marketing and traditional media, to reach the target audience effectively
- Support to develop a programme of regular content. Maintaining and updating Ben wide calendars as appropriate
- Work with colleagues to develop new products and update existing products that are relevant for our audiences that are channel and brand appropriate
- Manage the design, production and distribution of marketing collateral (digital and print), making sure it is consistent with our messaging, tone of voice and is audience appropriate
- Manage end to end email process – from creating emails, automations, using correct data & segments to sending & then evaluating campaigns
- Support online advertising (social, retargeting and PPC)
- Use a test and learn approach in order to learn from user behaviour and to ensure Ben leverages digital communications channels to reach and engage target audiences
Experience required:

- Significant marketing and fundraising experience and responsibility within a non-profit environment (minimum 2 years) (E)
- Experience of creating and delivering an annual programme of marketing (E) and fundraising activity (D)
- Experience of working in the automotive industry either in a campaign or hands on capacity (D)
- Experience of delivering strong ROI on fundraising campaigns (E)
- Confident communicator at all levels of the organisation, with the ability to work collaboratively across different areas of the organisation as required (E)
- Very strong organisational and project management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks and activities across multiple, simultaneous projects (E)
- Understanding and interpreting data (D)
- Experience of traditional and online marketing with an excellent understanding of the digital landscape (E)
- Writing, creating and producing content in multiple formats for various audiences and touch points (E)
- Managing end to end email production from data management and segmentation to email creation to sending and evaluation (E)
- Understanding and application of brand guidelines (E)
- Understanding and creation of on-page SEO and knowledge of the wider SEM implications (D)
